Very impressive Japanese Garden. I am planning my Japanese garden in my backyard as well and I watched many related videos. Yours is a great DIY example. Greetings from London.
@@Leo328 Thanks. The reason why I chose a Japanese garden design was that it is a shady area under big trees where normal plants don't grow well. Still lack rock arrangement knowledge. I have collected quite a few different rocks/stones for it.
@@xz9901 Allow me to recommend a book to you, “Infinite Spaces The art and wisdom of Japanese garden “ ,based on the Sakuteiki by Tachibana no Toshitsuna . It’s originally very old book.
Wow really nice !!! Crazy story I was stucking in belarus and had 3 month time, so I decided to build a Japanese garden there. I really appreciate the work you have done. Its inspiring. Looking forward to see how you will develope your garden. Warm greetings from Berlin
Thank u so much. After u finished your garden, please share with me, sometimes the garden style limited by the different climate and materials, for example : the shape of rocks and the moss, and need much more time to maintain the garden.
Awesome, it's hard work but absolutely rewarding. And the garden would be 100% perfect if there's a Japanese low table with bench chairs and a red umbrella I guess. Enviable story, real appreciate
Thank u so much for your interesting. Actually the garden is kind of hybrid Japanese garden, it combined the zen garden style and the machiya (まちや) style garden. In my opinion, the table and the table color should be the hue of Wabisabi (侘寂), that means without bright and fresh color, it will much more match the whole garden color style. I hope I will find the nicer solid wood bench someday at here replace the table.
Thank u so much. Yes, it took me a long time to build it. That’s my first time to build the garden , so it was a little low efficiency. I wish I can share with u more nicer music from my vinyl albums, but copy right issues.
Thanks for watching. Yes, I think most of American don’t like Japanese garden , maybe. In my opinion . The bonsai is mini landscape, Japanese garden is not the bonsai. Not the same. Yes , only in some areas , American like the Japanese garden, like in Oregon.
Hats off to an amazing job considering you did all this yourself in Southern California. Can I ask which exact “moss grass” you used and where you got it?
@@Leo328 thanks. The ones at 4:25 looks like scotch moss. Is that what you got? I thought about getting scotch moss but have mixed feelings about them growing small white flowers in spring time. Also I read that Scott moss requires full sun, which may not work too well for my need. I’m looking to plant moss/moss alternates right underneath my trees…
Hi! I’m working on a zen garden for my house but cannot find small rock that you can rake. Can you tell me what size you purchased and where you got it from? Thanks! Beautiful garden!!
Thanks for your interesting. Actually , the small rocks should be little smaller. I bought 125 bags as the video shows, I bought from Thompson Building Materials-Fontana at Fontana. The name on the bag shows: Hardscapes by Quikrete .
I bought it from Amazon, it’s powered by AC , I buried the wires in the PVC pipe under the ground, as the video shown . There is the plug on the wall at the other side.
Hi Leo We live in Anaheim Hills, not very far from Corona where you live with your lovely Japanese garden. In early 2017 we installed a small L-shaped Japanese garden with the help of a Japanese landscaper. I love your hybrid-style garden, and I guess mine is some kind of hybrid garden too, in which I’ve tried to incorporate some features of the karesansui and the tsuboniwa. I want to connect with you and ask your recommendation about some small plants and moss-like grass for our USDA Zone 10a/10b, and other infos about cleaning and maintenance tools… Can I exchange texts with you? Thanks in advance! Best. Dennis.
Hi Dennis, thanks for your interesting at my garden. Sure , please show me a little bit your garden photos by email , if u want , here: hepeilun76@gmail.com , I hope I can provide some useful opinions. Leo
The size is various, pint is the rock size can be moved by persons without crane. Choose the right one comparing to the yard size, but need a largest one as the main stone of the yard.
Thanks for watching. But I love the official version of appropriation much more. That’s why I love to visit the museums. At there, I can see tons of culture relics from different countries.
I love Japanese gardens and plan on doing a section of my 1 acre piece of property down by a creek at the back, so I watch many vids on this. What I don't understand is your intentional shot of a MAGA plaque carving at the beginning, so sad. Why would you put this in a video like this knowing the state of how divisive this movement has become in the US? Trump is no longer president and this movement has turned out to be violent at every opportunity it has encountered, impowers white nationalists that still persists one year later, kind of goes against what Japanese gardens stands for doesn't it......peace and tranquility. Do you think Trump won and the election was stolen?

This is beautiful usable art, and well worth all of that work. Your wife’s baking is also beautiful! Enjoy!
Thanks for watching. Thank you. I am glad to hear that.
Well done on your garden project. Hard work pays off as we say, at least now you can sit back and enjoy the view.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I worked under the hot weather and worked a long time by myself. I can make it better if there was a crane.
Yes, this is more interesting than a grass rectangle.. Your care and enjoyment of the space is now very clear, and I admire your effort.
Thank you. Landscape is interesting, but it still need lot of effort to maintain it.
Nice job!

Lovely
Thank u. I simply love the zen culture .
👍❤️❤️❤️
Thank you.
“Eezy Peezy Monkey bars climbing tower”, from Amazon
nice!!
Thanks for watching.

3/8 whit pea?
