$5.32 in change, a spark plug tester, a piece of shirt, 2curtain rod wall hangers, 3bobbie pins, a hair elastic, 2bra hooks, the remains of several dollars.......apparently my fiance had never cleaned the filter. He has owned the washer for 6 years and never knew about that filter. Thank you!!! You saved us repair/replacement costs.
This video saved me a few hundred bucks!!!! My son was able to watch this and clean the filter.. 34 cents and some lint. Now it works like new..Took him maybe an hour.. Where I live a service tech would have been $125 for the service call alone..And I know being a housewife, he could have said " this is out and this is broken" and I wouldn't have known.....THANK YOU
Thank you for being detailed. Your video is the only one I saw teach you that the rubber lip needs to go over the metal lip before the clamp goes on. Thank you for filming this! You saved me money!
2nd time in two years I've had to do this, all because of a nickel !! My daughter helped this time and it went so much faster. Still had to refer to your video for help. Thank you.
This was an awesomely clear and detailed video & very well done. I was able to open my machine, remove a piece that got stuck in the drain pump (just 1 step ahead of this tutorial) and put it back together without a sweat (almost), thereby saved myself close to $300. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you so much. Accessed the trap, cleaned it out and good to go. Saved big service call I'm sure. Never wash rugs in a home machine, go to the laundry mat! Lesson learned!
It entirely depends on what you're fixing. I would suggest heading to our website and pricing it out there (link in the description). If you don't know what is wrong with your washer you can use our repair help to assist you in diagnosing the problem. I hope this helps!
H hello my washing machine when I put it on I turn it on sometimes the water comes out and other times it doesn't and when I hit it it cuts off and no longer works, and at other times it is washing and it stops not drying, I hope it will help me thanks
I watched a few other videos associated with this machine. My washing machine wouldn't final spin.... wouldn't go through a complete cycle on the Quick cycle mode... Other modes didn't work either. I googled and found a few videos... one about clogged drain rubber boots... I didn't have a low panel so I had to remove the complete front... ... after removing the front and raising on a block of wood... I was able to remove the rubber boot and clean the boot with the debris prevention mechanism... I also cleaned out some wash cloths that had fallen down and was preventing good air circulation. Getting apart was not too hard, but putting back together was more difficult... I would suggest a pair of vise grips so you can lock down on the metal clamps that have to be repositioned when replacing the boots... since you don't have a lot of room to work... I took a lot of breaks and took part of 2 days to finish.... I'm 66 so took my time and rested frequently with a cold beer... I running a test as I type this and so for ALL is working OK... Thanks to all the persons who created a video... I would not have even have known where to begin without the assistance... I bought the vise grips at Lower yesterday and also priced a new washing machine.. ... not cheap... $499 or higher... ... machine just completed and everything appears to be ok .. going to was a few clothes now ... my machine is 8 years old, so may get a few more years before spending $500 for a new one...
Love this channel. Breaking it down step by step, making repairs really user friendly. Makes you think why the he'll are service techs so expensive. Replaced the door latch and this pump and are back in business. Thanks a bunch. Saved a few hundred on parts and labor!!! P.s. I'm a girl!!!
On our website. If you enter your model number into our website's search engine it will display a list of parts that fit your dryer. You'll be able to find the door latch and door strike there.
We unfortunately cannot offer model specific repair help on TH-cam. I would suggest doing a Google search for your model and the specific disassembly you're trying to do.
Thank you so much for this video. Removing the front panel definitely made things much easier to access the pump and filter. Took me approximately 2 hours to take it apart, clean the filter and re-assemble. Probably saved me a couple of hundred dollars. Now if I can only figure out how the pad to my wife's swimsuit top made it down into the filter. Either way, it runs like a charm now. Thanks again, RepairClinic
This could be a few different things. I would suggest using the repair help section of our website (link in the description). If you enter your model number there you'll have access to model, part, and symptom specific repair help. Unfortunately we do not have information regarding error codes, so I can't really help you with that aspect of your repair. There are many good forums and blogs out there that cover error codes though, and they should be some help.
You were a great help in showing me how to replace my door lock assembly, Machine spins fine now. But my front control panel is cracked--controls themselves are fine. How do I remove the front panel while leaving the controls themselves in place?
Thank you for making this video, as it has saved us a lot of time, and money. Couldn't figure out how to remove the boot, thought there was screws somewhere, but now we know!
Thanks for the video. I had water leaking in large quantities. Once I got the front panel off I could see a wire, presumably from an underwire bra, sticking out from the coin trap hose. I also found 7 cents and an earring - not enough to cover the price of the new hose!
Is the water draining out of the tub? If the water is draining, but the clothes are still wet there could be a problem with the spin cycle. The problem is probably not with the filter.
I am so excited to be fixing this myself. I am confident there are coins in the trap. Error 20. . I have completed all the steps in your dissembling video thru elevating the bottom to unscrew the lower front panel screws. The front panel is still firmly attached right below the cycle dial in the middle of the control panel. Everything else is unscrewed and loose. How do I release the panel under the cycle control dial ? Thanks soooo much again.
thanks for sharing this kind of videos...it help a looooot.....and save a bunch of money...thank you very much....this model can be reversed the door?....how can i do it?....thanks again....
I feel like such a rock star, thanks to your video!!!! Machine back together after emptying gobs of junk from coin catch. I am doing laundry but spin cycle is not very consistent. 3 loads so far and only once did it spin efficiently enough to go into the dryer. The others loads I had to tinker with the" spin only" cycle, which didn't perform consistently either. Any ideas? Once I got an "error 10", but didnt find any water flow prob.
Mine is getting glitches sometimes, the first time I noticed a glitch, it was done with the load but the door lock light was still on and wouldn't let me open the door which turning the setting knobs worked. The other time it got a glitch, it got stuck on the final cycle for a few hours and I just gave up and press the cancel button and transferred the clothes to the dryer, the puddle of soap water that hasn't drained is still sitting in the washing machine until it will get used again. Are you able to explain why the one I have had those glitches?
This video is helpful, but what if you cant get the front door open on the washer to remove wire spring thingy. I believe I need to replace the door lock assembly but cant get door open to remove wire
I heard a pop now my Frigidaire washing machine isn't spinning anymore I removed the back panel to check the belt, belt was still good what could be my problem?
I pulled my dial off this same washer didn’t mark it . Does it only fit one way or could I have it wrong? It still works but I can go pass my bulk position and it still showing display and not turning off . Is this right?
i have this model washer, which was working a few hours ago, but suddenly seems like it has no power. I have checked the plugs as well as attempted to plug washer in to another plug via orange extension cord. no luck. im thinking it may be the control panel? i was thinking about how hard it will be to get another washer financially, but after watching this vid im going to try the control panel replacement first. thanks!
+RepairClinic.com update:its very cold in my area, and i was running aloe of space heaters. When i turned them off, i went back in to the washer area to grab something-and washer display was lit up like normal. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence, or if these electronic panels are just really sensitive.
I have same washer and when entering final spin on the wash cycle, it will spin slowly and will stop every 20 seconds or so. Door latch is locked, noticed a odd smell in the laundry room during spon cycle. Any ideas of what it could be?
Great video and a great customer service. I have a very minor issue and that is I have coins that are inside the three gray 'beater bars' inside the tub. They make a racket, and I cannot figure out how to remove the agitators easily. Any thoughts? Thanks!
***** I was able to remove the beater bars by pushing a long 1/4" dowel into the center hole. There are actually four stainless steel "ears" that hold the beater bars in place, and it is very difficult to push the all out of the way. I was eventually able to remove the two bars that had the change behind them, and I hope I was able to bend the tabs such that the bars will stay in place now that they are replaced. This is a bad design, and obviously not intended to be serviced. It would have been so easy to use any of a dozen other methods of holding the bars in place. Again, thanks for the video.
I removed the bushing the foot leveler is screwed into under the washing machine. Im unable to screw the bushing back in because i can feel a lose screw the bushing should be catching is not a center position. Can you tell me how I can fix this?
Thank you very much this video along with another one out there which showed how to remove the coin trap and cleaning it saved me. It was packed with some hose and part of my shirt. The shirt came out shredded on the load before so I was pretty sure this was the answer. My unit looks just like this one but did not have a way to totally disconnect the door I had to put it on a chair while working.
My Frigidaire Affinity Washer controls have stopped working. There is power to the unit (as seen by the flickering green LEDs) but the controls are unresponsive. Any ideas?
Anyone know the model number of this exact machine used in the video. My sticker isn't in mind and this is the same one I have and need to order replacement parts
This is the most stupid design that failed the Frigidaire!!! Other brands have an opening in front to clean the drain path. This one doesn't!! If you stack it with dryer on top, you are dead meat. A little hair will block the drain and cleaning is more expensive than buying new. Some engineers, like these and those crashed Boeing airplanes, should be sentenced to jail.

In all the years I've been coming to TH-cam, THIS is actually the best video I've ever seen. THANKYOU! An actual video that helps people!
Thanks for the question. Getting the panels off may be slightly different, but it will be the same once you get inside of the washer.
i found this video very helpful. Just saved me 100+ on cost of repair. Me and hubby just took apart and put back together to clean the drain filter.

RepairClinic.com.
Hey Steve, was your washer leaking at the bottom? I have a pedestal making mine taller. Its used for storage. have you replaced yours yet???
Thanks for the video. I had water leaking in large quantities. Once I got the front panel off I could see a wire, presumably from an underwire bra, sticking out from the coin trap hose. I also found 7 cents and an earring - not enough to cover the price of the new hose!
Wow, very impressed. Followed along with the instructions and was successfully able to unassembled and reassemble. Thanks! :)
Laura Olivares Glad to help.
you guys are awesome. along with other videos i was able to get my machine working again. Thank you
Jose C. Santana Thank you.
Is the water draining out of the tub? If the water is draining, but the clothes are still wet there could be a problem with the spin cycle. The problem is probably not with the filter.
Thank you for making this. saved me a lot of hassle.
Cool!
is a good teach ,in how to fix the problem i have in the inner side of the water pump Thank You.
Great! Congrats on the successful cleaning!

Have you removed the control panel? The cycle dial should be already removed.
The bushing screws into a nut on the inside of the washer frame. You will probably need to disassemble the washer to get to it.
thanks for sharing this kind of videos...it help a looooot.....and save a bunch of money...thank you very much....this model can be reversed the door?....how can i do it?....thanks again....
Dónde puedo conseguir los baleros y sello de este modelo?
If the door lock assembly is broken it may cause the door not to open. In this case, unfortunately forcing the door open may be the only option.
Great video! I was able to fix my washer without having to call anyone for help!😎🔧🛠😆
Nice!
The control pad could be bad. There also could be a problem with the connection between the control pad and the control board.
How do you get to the filter?
I do not see a bushing listed with this model. Are you working on a different model?

Thank you SO MUCH...a GREAT help!!!

My Frigidaire Affinity Washer controls have stopped working. There is power to the unit (as seen by the flickering green LEDs) but the controls are unresponsive. Any ideas?
This video is awesome!! 😉
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
We just moved in our new house and have this same washer and there's a bad odor coming from it.
There is an access hole in the bottom of the machine to get to the waste water filter and pump. No need to remove any panels.
were you able to repair the waste water filter? Did you lay the machine on the side?
Yes and yes. I suggest replacing the spring-loaded clamps with worm-gear type hose clamps.
thanks
Anyone know the model number of this exact machine used in the video. My sticker isn't in mind and this is the same one I have and need to order replacement parts
kathe handlin Frigidaire Front Load Washer FTF2140FS
I bought a used on of these , I cant get the door to open !
tks so much ..
You can tell its an Electrolux subsidiary. The Electrolux washer I have comes apart in an almost identical way.
OK but there's a second rubber seal, how does that come off?
Thank you!
Hold start options
Model number?
It goes even far as having the name Electrolux on the circuit board of the control panel
I had to Replace the door switch to my washer i ask my dad go for the boot seal for the door switch!!
Well my dryer is stacked on top so way to go Frigidaire.....
water won't stop running
i have this brand i dont know how to remove a stuck coins in washing machine drum this brand dont have coin trap
Sky should get a cordless portable drill instead of using his hands manually.
Took front panel off for no reason.
No. That seal going back in is a lie. Over an hour I have been fighting this miserable son of .... no.
