Just wanted to come back & say thanks for making this. My mom had a dying 16 year old african violet so I watched this & took a cutting. After 10 weeks it sprouted today !!!!!! I can't wait to show her, she's going to flip !!! LOL
Edit: How I did it was cut off the bottom 2" of a water bottle, cut drain holes then added soil, the cutting & put it in a sandwich baggie left open a little for air flow.

I watched a few videos on the propagation by now, but yours was by for the most informative. I had no idea that each plant actually grows more than one baby, and your drawings made so much sense! It's my first time trying this with four leaves that I got from my mom, and I was trying to figure out how big the babies need to get before separating them. Your video gave me all the answers. I need to be a bit more patient :) Thank you again.

Thanks. I'm very, very new at growing African Violets, but I am able to grow them. I just got a violet plan my Mom had growing in her kitchen window for a few years and never bloomed. I took it up to my room and watered and fed it and it's got almost 10 buds and 1 beautiful pink bloom.

I am just learning about violets and it is amazing how badly they want to reproduce. I have a feeling I could end up with a lot of them. You have given a key to doing just that. They seem so innocent, the plant your Grandma and your mom had and meanwhile they are a powerhouse of surviving if they are treated right.

So happy, thanks so much for all you share with us. I had to come down into the comments to share. The ones you don't think you'll plant...
I did that too, well, I said that too, but for 💩💩&😂🤣 I decided to stuff'em into a vermiculite / perlite mix with some DAMP, (NOT soaked and water from the top down with this stuff, it soaks up mainly where it's watered at. Bottom up, doesn't work well with vermiculite, gravity keeps the water towards the bottom area only!)
Any who, I stuck'em in vermiculite / perlite mix and they just popped out some new roots. Keep them in a window sill and not too far below as to stifle the new baby's growth.
You want them to come out of the media not stay underground.
I hope this helps someone who may be trying to propagate a dying / special African violet and don't want to waste ANY offsets- if you can possibly help it.
I, personally use k-cups for propagating, that way there's less vermiculite /perlite mix being used up where it really isn't necessary.
Once they've rooted, give'm a lil tug after about 2 wks - 4 wks and once rooted, I allow 2 more babies to pop up before I put them into dirt so it has more energy catchers, aka leaves, to soak up the sun- since soil IS a bit tougher for the roots to grow up out of.
    Good luck & happy propagating!
*ALSO* ALWAYS plucking the bigger, older leaves off, as they grow older and new offsets are grown, and simply propagate those as you cut off the bigger leaves BEFORE they start turning wilt-y and start looking limp & like they'redying... Before you know it, you'll have a house full of African violets!
(I know bc I've already gone a bit overboard myself. I have NO room for anything else now!🥰🤩) ah well, I guess I've already got Christmas Gifts for everyone!🤯 *hint-hint*
