Sadly, brother Youngs passed away not many years after this video was produced, about ten years ago. He left us a professional, well-documented history of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Twin Cities.

Charles Russell was one that noticed some of the false teachings that Christendom acquired over the centuries. Even the bible shows that in our time 'the light will shine brighter' (Proverbs 4:18; Daniel 12:9) Before I became one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I was a Lutheran. They acknowledge Martin Luther as one that started the Protestant Reformation but in time Lutherans strayed from follow everything Martin Luther believed. It is roughly that way with Russell too. For nearly 2000 years Christendom took on many added beliefs and traditions that were thought to be based on the bible but with deeper study are found to be nothing much more than orthodox traditions. It took time to clean off those false teaching and get back to nothing more than the bible exclusively. (Acts 20:29; 1 Timothy 4:1; etc...)Thus, today being closer to biblical accuracy than even in Russell's time, we will and do have clearer biblical teachings and understandings from his time. Thus we don't always 'fit in' with people back then since we keep gradually moving onward over time in clearer understanding.
