@Quick Thinking This is what the word Secular meant at the time of the founding.
      From Websters 1828 Online Dictionary.
SEC'ULAR, adjective. [Latin secularis, from seculum, the world or an age.]
      1. Pertaining to the present world, or to things not spiritual or holy; relating to things not immediately or primarily respecting the soul, but the body; worldly. The secular concerns of life respect making provision for the support of life, the preservation of health, the temporal prosperity of men, of states, etc. Secular power is that which superintends and governs the temporal affairs of men, the civil or political power; and is contradistinguished from spiritual or ecclsiastical power.

@Quick Thinking ” TJ later asserted that the effort to disestablish the Church of England in Virginia and to establish religious freedom brought on “the severest contests” in which he had ever been engaged (see Notes and Proceedings on Discontinuing the Establishment of the Church of England, 11 Oct. to 9 Dec. 1776).

@will Derby well you may think so but let's be realistic here.. how do people learn history? They either put all their confidence in a book some guy wrote and mockingbird the points to other people. Then you have people that actually do more than take the word of some guy that wrote a book. They spend long hours researching in libraries for old court documents, newspaper articles, etc. Im willing to be David Barton is the latter and didn't just make up or parrot what some guy wrote in a book. So again, how do people learn? The majority of people learn historical information by reading a book and trusting its authentic. I have a relative that I would put up against anybody for historical accuracy. He will tell you the history books are bunk and the real stories are buried to be discovered. David Barton is a sharp guy and I find it hard to believe he's just making up crap or half way researching. If you don't agree with his take on history then by all means contact him and set him straight. I'm sure he'd love hearing from you :)

VERY GOOD. Sorry for the long post. Yes, the USA is a very blessed nation. Enjoyed the talk and learned many new good things, especially about the early days of Woodrow Wilson, since I had learned years ago (not in school) about his presidency, and his showing Birth of a Nation in the White House. Only want to make a few points. Our nation has never been invaded (except perhaps for ... Pearl Harbor) which basically eliminated the America First mindset held by Charles Lindburgh and 800,000 others:
The America First Committee (AFC) was organized in 1940 for the expressed purpose of preventing the United States from entering World War II.America First refers to a policy stance in the United States that generally emphasizes American exceptionalism and non-interventionism. It was notable for flourishes of racism and Anti-Semitism.
The AFC was headed by prominent U.S. citizens, including record-setting aviator Charles A. Lindbergh, and some members of Congress.
The AFC opposed President Franklin Roosevelt’s Lend-Lease plan to send U.S. arms and war materials to Britain, France, China, and the Soviet Union.
Once reaching a membership of over 800,000, the AFC disbanded on December 11, 1941, four days after the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
After the AFC disbanded, Charles Lindbergh joined the war effort.
BTW, America First (now a culture dog whistle) originally refers to a slogan and policy stance that generally emphasized American exceptionalism and non-interventionism. The term was coined by President Woodrow Wilson in his 1916 campaign that pledged to keep America neutral in World War I. In 1919 the revived Ku Klux Klan also adopted America First as a motto. The KKK was revived in 1915 with the film Birth of a Nation (originally called the Clansman), a silent, and the first 12 reel, 3 hours 7 minutes film. It was shown over and over to over 200 million Americans by 1946 and used for membership recruitment for the KKK.
The first film ever shown at the White House, Woodrow Wilson reportedly described the film as “history written with lightning.” Believe it or not the film had one scene cut as "offensive" and there were a two other modifications made due to the National Board of Censorship 12-9 vote. The film had a reissue in 1921, 1931, It was revived AGAIN in 1950.
There is no mention of the United Kingdom in the constitutional info. Although the United Kingdom (UK) has never had a written constitution embodied in a single document, the foundational constitutional text for what is now the UK is the Magna Carta issued by King John of England in 1215. Thus, the United Kingdom "constitution" is composed of the laws and rules that create the institutions of the state, regulate the relationships between those institutions, or regulate the relationship between the state and the individual.
The issue of modern day slavery is complex in that some people may not see these things as slavery. It exists as forced and state-imposed labor (including children for example in cocoa/chocolate industry), sexual servitude and forced marriage. The USA (est. 400,000 also has forced and state-imposed labor, sexual servitude and forced marriage). If interested and for more info check the Global Slavery Index. 2/3 of people in modern slavery were in India, China, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Indonesia, Nigeria, Turkey, Bangladesh, and the USA.

This video should be shown in every school in America, to include every Public, Private, Home, & Christian School. The video views are shockingly less than 50,000, it should reflect 50 million views or more. Exposure to facts that contradict previously held beliefs & feelings cause most people to entrench themselves even more firmly in those previously held beliefs & feelings.
“Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.”
    Deuteronomy 4:9 NIV
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
    3 John 1:4 NIV
"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false."
    William J. Casey, CIA Director

"... I will add to this that I have never seen, to my knowledge, a man, woman, or child who was in favor of producing a perfect equality, social and political, between negroes and White men." ~Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln describes the majority of view of Americans at the time. Barton may cherry pick a few cases where blacks have been accepted, but they did not believe in intermarriage and certainly would not have allowed themselves to become a minority in their own country as whites are becoming today. There are all kinds of quotes from prominent Americans that we admire who had a negative view of black people.
Francis Scott Key in 1814 penned the American national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner. He said, "Are you willing, gentlemen, to abandon your country, to permit it to be taken from you, and occupied by the abolitionist, according to whose taste it is to associate and amalgamate with the negro? Or, gentlemen, on the other hand, are there laws in this community to defend you from the immediate abolitionist, who would open upon you the floodgates of such extensive wickedness and mischief?"

Continued...and if the Brits hadn’t ended the Puritans reign of terror there wouldn’t be any theatre (or acting of any form), games etc, all of which were banned. All the word’s major sports the Brits invented (including baseball) with the sole exception of basketball.

  • @robertdavidson9674

All it means is the founding fathers locked us permanently into a godless, pluralistic, covenant-breaking, death spiral that worships the humanistic god, "we the people" rather than the God of the Puritans. The Constitution was written mostly by unitarians who were freemason by philosophy. It rejects the Bible as "the Supreme law of the land and outlaws any oath to govern by God's laws. There was no discussion of Biblical principles of government in Madison's Notes from the Convention except for Franklin's prayer request, which was voted down.

Britain has an unwritten constitution (with a Parliament that dates from 1707) so Barton is misleading (as usual). It’s also the birthplace of the English language, common law and the Industrial Revolution. In the last 500 years its achievements dwarf all other nations. Barton does a lot of whitewashing. America has a sordid past with race (racism is in every document). The “founders” owned slaves (whom they labelled “property” (not people) in the Articles of Confederation). The Constitution had both the 3/5 compromise and the fugitive slave law (signed by Washington, enslaver of 600 black PEOPLE (not not “property”, while the “Monster of Monticello” jefferson also owned 600 slaves and raped at least one (Sally Hemings). Race laws: white only citizenship (1790), white male only vote (1789), anti-miscegenation (1691), and white only immigration (ended wifh1965 immigration act). Hans Frank would use these race laws as a template for Germany in 1935.

The United States accomplishments/influence in EVERY area of life Dwarf all other nation's. This is prophesied of in the book of Genesis from the Bible. You can have the great blessings of Manasseh as foretold, but I will take the blessing that came upon the younger one, Ephraim, that normally would come upon the eldest, which far exceeded Britain's influences and accomplishments. In fact, you can take the entire world's accomplishments and stack it against the American All-Time Power. It's really not even close, surprisingly.
