Sounds like a romantic notion, yet a have an issue with that. Please help me out with that. How to do it if you have 24h in your day. How to stay strategic but to excel at tactical?
@@YuriRadavchuk You can start with reducing and afterwards, fully eliminate the time waste. If you think about it consciously, you’ll find it in many parts of your life
I love these whiteboard sessions so much. You have inspired me over the past couple years - and this year is my first year making a huge impact. My work is what I love. I am making more than I ever have (well into the six figures) and these videos are just so helpful and impactful. You also are the reason I began seeking to delegate in my own business - and as hard as that has been - it has been incredible. It's been freeing and it's been life-giving. I used to stress about everything and now I know I have the beginnings of a team that can take the load and crush it.
Thank you for this session. I'm 26, about to get married next month, and am looking to make sure that I have optimal work-life integration for my future family. Blessings.
*“Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.” - Mary Kay Ash*
There's another perspective on this topic. Work and life were conceptualized, then divided. It's like separating love and kindness. They are, essentially, almost the same. Therefore, I don't do my work, I live it. And I don't live my life, I work it. But, of course, I also work my work and live my life :).
The same can be said for play. Work, life, play, they can all be the same. Yet we live, play and/or work in a world that separates them. Players get paid, workers get paid and regardless of which you are, the best get paid better than others.
I started watching this with fear of looking at all my fallen aspirations and reaching a wall. Riding along through the workshop opened up a lot of reasons for gratitude (even appreciating my own experiences of being with my parents - either while they work or as we discover the joys of working). My turn to forge my path. Thanks for being here - I feel the friendship 🤍
Some of the best content out right now talking about work life balance. Sometimes its a challenge to maintain a strong work-life balance and this video helps immensely.
I just worked most of last night and at 5am this morning to turn around a 1 day deadline edit for a client at the agency I work for. Most relevant video for me yet.
I like to think. I've been thinking about work a lot lately. I've come to some interesting conclusions but deemed myself still way too far from thinking everything that could be thought. It's so cool to see that there were people who already made this path, had the same conclusions, "formalized" what they learned and are now teaching it. This is invaluable. Thank you!
I remembering reading that you don't actually need to make a huge amount of money in order to be happy. After a certain amount it doesn't do much for you.
theres no such thing for me to say about these videos but as a 17 years old all I have to say for the people in the video and comments is, Thank you so much.
LOVED this whiteboard session! I can totally relate - as an Executive Producer in advertising, the work part of life definitely ticks the money and fulfilment boxes, but it’s the wellness work I do with teaching yoga, meditation and the personal rituals to keep a balanced life that really ticks that purpose box. Kinda feel like I’m onto something with combining both on TH-cam. Love Chris’ perspective on how he defines the work-life balance. 🙌❤️🙌
Chris thank you very much for this workshop. You reminded me about my purpose, fulfilment and money. This video cheers me up to treat my severe depression and move forward. Thank you all of you who participated in this workshop.
I felt that work/life balance from Chris the moment he started telling the story of how his life and son's life overlaps. That made me so emotional. Thanks for sharing this 💝 OVERLAP will never sound the same to me again. Can't wait to apply these learnings. Keep inspiring!
Some of the best content out right now! I agree, it'ss a challenge to maintain a strong work-life balance, and it's even harder when you feel pulled in different directions.
Thank you so much for this valueable video ❤️ my husband and i are building a business together and in the mean time have two small kids. Sometimes it is hard to describe others what we do and why spending so much time with „work“. Listen to this video speaks out of our hearts! Thank you!
the leaving work and taking work home resonates with me... im going to try changing that today.... being present were you are and where you are supposed to be
Big thanks to the people that decided to display the raw board information before passing to the next topic/next slide. It makes it way easier to learn the material when I can take snapshots of the course! 🙏
there are a lot of ideas out there about work & life, but it contains so many bias too.. Thanks The Futur, thanks Chris, you get me a clarity about work and life connection. Big Thanks from Indonesia..
One of my favorite videos you’ve made. Hearing your story and relating to your journey made me feel so much better about the sacrifice and helps me enjoy the ride ❤
This integration increases the scope of opportunities for an individual. Being is doing. Flow with, not against. We ask others what are you going to do with your life? The answer is always to do something specific. We then fall into the trap of measuring our choices and decisions. Was it good? Was it bad? The answer is neither. If you are doing, you are being. If you are being, you are living.
Valuable session. I have read about the concept 'IKIGAI'. Love the fact how getting family members involved facilitates integration. Content you are putting is priceless🙏.
Ikigai is overrated. Followed by the Japanese workers that work 6 days a week, are overworked, and have one of the highest rates of suicide in the world.
It is a so great context but not easy to achieve!😌there are so many external factors that affect your work-life balance! Most of the time, you don't have the control over the work situations and it depends also on what age you are? and what is your professional level? like you said, you can't always enforce your plans and integrate as this is an iterative improvement process ! Thanks.
I think this might have just been the starting point to changing my life. I would have written more in this comment, but I am at a loss to what I could say, other than thank you Chris, thank you Futur, thank you so damn much. One day The Cheeky Bartender will make you a cocktail with your name on it as a gesture of gratitude 🙏🥳💯
I got alot out of this and would love to see more general life balance lessons and teachings. You have alot of good experience to share and pass down and would like more to learn and rest upon 🤞🙏
Just as all of the other materials from The Futur, this one is incredibly well done and detailed. Thank you to Chris and the entire team! Good luck to Ricky on the new path of his journey!
YES! Love the WB sessions. This was a great sesh, too. I learn so much from these... and I will need to watch this one several times to really absorb all the great ideas and feedback. I am very fortunate to have this year off, dedicated to hone my oil painting skills. Though, I really hate not earning income and I am struggling right now. I am somewhat ‘freeloading’ off my mom, who is totally supportive since I help take care of her in return- Lucky me- but it still feels yucky to be co-dependent and have limited lifestyle options. I would LOVE to be in the $200K income bracket. So, I think developing a passive income is essential. Teaching “en plein air” landscape and portrait painting courses has been on my mind. This podcast helped me make that decision with confidence now! In due time, when I start earning an income again, I will definitely contribute to the Futur. And for whatever it’s worth, Chris, you can tell your son that I said you’re a BRILLIANT teacher and a tough act to follow! Cheers.
Thank you, I love your talks, content and style. I own my agency and getting my HS-age daughter involved a filmed project, even bringing her to the shoot and client meetings. In that case, I've successfully blended both worlds - and hopefully it will inspire her too.
I missed the whiteboard sessions so much and right around the time when I am going to start a family and a business, getting a video on work/life balance felt like such a big gift. Thanks chris and futur team!
Another great whiteboard session as always! Finding work-life balance has always been a struggle for me, I never thought of it as combining the two like puzzle pieces.
Thanks Chris for such a nice way to see WORK and LIFE integration. I'm staying in Cebu now and I also have experienced swimming with the WHALE SHARKS. Hope to see you here in the Futur.
Thanks for the video Chris, Not always, of course, because life is not a straight line. But I think I generally have a good work-life balance 😀 and I'm from Mexico. I found interesting what Guillo said because, apparently we Mexicans work really long hours compared to other countries, even if that doesn't equal productivity. His perception seems similar to some acquaintances and friends who tell me that they find it unusual how organized I am, but I call that habits, others that they feel envious because I have free time, even though I work more hours than some of them. I can think of many places, but one where I find people who try to maintain a good work-life balance is at the gym, and the same may apply to any place where people go and do something they like, so it's not a rule. Of course, we all are different, but maybe it has worked for me that I am clear that some of my top priorities are my loved ones and my health; and also, that even though work and money are very important, it's not the most important thing in my life. Although contradictorily, I really like to work, sometimes I concentrate so much that I feel that time flies. On the other hand, it seems to me that it is very common for us as a society, to show off how busy we are, and then complain because maybe it makes us feel important, and I get it. I think we have to determine what our priorities are, develop healthy habits and set limits. Of course, this may sound romantic and it's not easy. There are periods in life when things can be really difficult, also I'm certain that social, economic, and other disadvantages exist: we may have to travel a lot to get to our jobs, get a disease or have an ill family member, economic difficulties, babies, a forced change of priorities, depression, external factors, and others. I think though, we still have to try to take care of ourselves somehow.
Thank you Chris for sharing this! Has been a long time lurking fan but I find this one during a particularly rough time, and it does give me a conviction to strive towards the goal and enjoying the challenges as well! Please keep making great content!
What IF….we write it as „Life“ „Work“? Different catch & feel…and THAT is what we want, right? Find out what my ace is that I like to do and do it to the core. Because of this feeling I feel like losing time while doing „non-relevant“ work…or work that doesn‘t interest me at all. Keep up the BrAiNsToRmInG! I‘m with y‘all & thank you! Love these whiteboards, keeps me going when I want to quit.
@Healthy Fats Unable to get any meaningful results from my work, and always second-guessing if I'm a good enough designer.
Perfect timing, I've just quit the 9-5 to look after my own work/life balance and feed my purpose.
Best of luck. It's tough but well worth it. Wishing you the best.
My favorite part was reminding us that we aren't necessarily late-bloomers if we're older. I'm 38 and that was comforting to hear.
Chris' honest attempts to be a better human being and finding a work-life balance are truly inspiring, Thank you The Futur.
