    Très heureux de voir une production Québécoise avoir une belle exposition à l’international. Un achat à coup sûr!

    Was not interested when they posted pictures of the pieces on Facebook, but seeing it come together with the cards and all... I’m in!

    Okay, each time I only look at that and say to myself : ''Why he's missing that oppurtunity''. If you turn the table behind you, it's making a ''Z'', please do this for me.

    Thanks for the review, Zee. I liked the components okay, until you linked them together. Wow, that is so cool! And the gameplay sounds like a lot of fun as well. I'm definitely interested!

    A 9 out of 10!? Seal of Excellence!? I'm hooked. My family enjoys both Azul and Reef. This looks like another game that will be a hit. The toy factor of the plastic pieces is over the top.

      I'm in the same boat, I think this would go over really well with my group. Azul is a big hit here and we recently picked up Azul: Summer Pavilions which I highly recommend.

    I met the designers and playtested it in a convention. I’m glad to see the final product and i must say I had the exact same feeling.

    Gameplay looks more interesting to me than Azul. Great aesthetics - love those colorful, chunky pieces!

      I played prototypes versions 2 times(1.5 time) with the designers and I think its way more interesting than Azul. Having to choose between two things to draft from (scoring or pieces) makes the choices very interesting and add too that the puzzle of how the scoring cards can combo each other.

    I just played this the other night for the first time. I happen to win the game (four players). I really enjoyed it. If I had one tiny gripe, it's that I wish I could do more each turn. For instance, spending a whole turn just to assign a prophecy card to a coatl feels like an underwhelming turn. But, overall, cool game and nice concept.

    • @rosaliepfeiffer1313
      @rosaliepfeiffer1313 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand why that would be frustrating, however, the good news is that you may do more than that. 😁 I want you to love the game even more👍Can I suggest reading the rules again. I have added the rule I'm referring to. As a third option for your turn you may do any of the following actions in any order, as many times as you want.
      3. ASSEMBLE YOUR CÓATL
      Use your collected pieces to create a new Cóatl and/or add to existing ones. You may then use these Cóatl to fulfill
      Prophecy cards.
      While assembling your Cóatl, you may perform the following Assembly actions in any order, as many times as you wish
      (make sure you follow to the Cóatl Assembly Rules found on page 8):
      a. Begin a new Cóatl
      Take any piece from your Player board and place it on the table in front of you.
      Note: You cannot do this Assembly action if you already have 2 incomplete Cóatls.
      b. Add to an existing Cóatl
      Take a piece from your Player board and attach it to one end of one of your incomplete Cóatl.
      Although a Cóatl can have many body segments, it can have at most 1 head and 1 tail.

    When I see this game, given I like the design so much and I can relate to some of the mexican culture elements (indirecty, being European), the main thing I feel is, these snakes SHOULD have been WOODEN pieces instead of plastic ones.
    I'm sure it's trickier to engineer and produce, but it would look soooo nice to have colourful, wooden, puzzly snakes !!!!

    When I saw this, I really wanted it to be good because I love games with Native American themes. I already preordered from Amazon and I can’t wait until it gets here.

    It should be Quetzalcóatl

    • @Sam-vk8xd
      @Sam-vk8xd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, Coatl is correct. In the Nahuatl language, it means ‘serpent’ or has even been translated to mean ‘feathered serpent’, the ‘Quetzal’ portion of the word translates to ‘precious’ or ‘holy’ in reference to the deity. Quetzacoatl translates to “Precious Feathered Serpent”. Having titled it ‘Quetzalcoatl’ would’ve been wrong because in this game players do not assemble the deity but the serpents or “coatl”.
      It’s a pasted on theme for a fairly abstract game but I appreciate the fact that they took the time to actually title it properly. It’s a great game though!

  • @marklorant1906

    I love how this game looks, but I just can't get over the fact that the game is ending when "someone's completed their last Cóatl". I can't like these kinds of games that are like a racing game.. it's just not satisfying, and you basically have to build faster than everyone else, because most likely, the first one to build the third is going to win.. It's just like the overhyped Century spice roads, I loath that game for this.

    • @ClockworkWyrm
      @ClockworkWyrm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's funny because I actually kind of prefer it as opposed to an arbitrary stopping point like say 5 rounds, etc. With the racing-style trigger the game can go on indefinitely whereas with the arbitrary end game my engine always seems to finally be really rolling, just enough for the last round or two, just enough to get a taste, when suddenly the game is over while I'm left wanting more turns to really revel in my creation.

    • @marklorant1906
      @marklorant1906 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ClockworkWyrm it can go on indefinitely, but it never does because someone is going to rush it, because in the end it is about winning, and if you can end the game winning, why continue?
