  • Here's a list of detailed instructions that might include some things I forget to mention in the video.
Notes: This will only work on light scratches. If you drag your fingernail over the scratch and you can feel it get stuck, then the scratch is too deep for this to work.
1.) Be sure the scratch is clean before you begin. You can rub the scratch with a clay bar to pick up any edges of the clear coat that could be sticking out and would interfere with the polishing.
2.) Be sure to measure the depth of the paint. If you go all the way through the clear coat, you can ruin your finish. Measure the depth in the door jam and compare it with the depth at the surface of the scratch. Don't go lower that the depth in the door jam.
3.) Use the ExoForma heavy cutting pad and Quick Cut Compound. This strategy will not be nearly as effective without the heavy cutting pad. Apply the compound to the pad and let it do its work. Using a polisher will be quicker, but the job can still be done with a drill and a backing plate.
4.) Be sure to continually take breaks so you don't overheat the pad or the clear coat.
5.) You will need to occasionally reapply cutting compound, especially if it uses diminishing abrasives.
6.) Check the paint depth to make sure you aren't going too deep.
7.) Once you're satisfied or can't go any further without cutting through too much clear coat, switch to Precision Polish and a polishing pad for 2-4 passes.
8.) Once done with Precision Polish, you can use Mirror Finish to get a crystal clear finish on the area you just polished.
9.) Thoroughly clean the surface then add some form of strong protection to make up for the lack of clear coat in that area. I would recommend using our 9H Ceramic Coating.
10.) Enjoy no longer being frustrated every time you look at your vehicle and see the scratch.
Note - This can be done with other products but for those who would like to use anything specific from the video, here's a list of all the products used and links to get them.:
