Seriously right?! If they don't retrofit this to the older models then I will most likely not buy another Subaru. Still contending with the stupid seat warmer button that's buried in another menu...
I just read on the internet that you can configure the fullscreen display of Android Auto on the Subaru WRX's screen. Connect your phone to the car's head unit using a USB cable. Open Android Auto on your phone. On the Android Auto home screen, tap the Settings icon located in the bottom right corner of the screen. Select "Display" from the list of options. In the "App size" section, select "Fullscreen". Close the Android Auto app and reopen it. It should now appear in fullscreen. Let me know if it works for you. I can't verify it myself because I don't have a Subaru, but I'll be buying a WRX soon.
I do believe if you connect by wire you may want to have the Bluetooth connect off for the car, the wire & wireless will fight each other. So I use my Bluetooth connection but power my from rear seats plug. Correct me if I’m wrong.
@@hankshaw2225 They can disable it while driving as they do with other features. While stopped, in park and with the park brake on, they could allow it.
Thanks for clarifying. Previously it was just a horizontal screen with padding on top and bottom. Now it takes up full screen and it's responsive.
The question is, why subaru doesn't make this change on 20-22 models??? It is so annoying to use such a small portion of the screen.
I'm really hoping they can just update all of their vehicles with the 11.6" screen to have these features

@@jonatanandrespereirasolis9926 Interesting. I will give this a try!
@@jonatanandrespereirasolis9926 doesn't work, at least on pixel. I have no settings like that.
Do you know how to get back from fullscreen maps to split screen?
Does the fix for fullscreen android auto is present in 2024 crosstrek 11.8inch screen as well?
I just bought a 2023 WRX, rolled off the truck last week why is my AA still small screen I should have the latest software correct????
I just want to connect to use google maps instead of the built in GPS maps. Have a 2022 Legacy.
Does this comes with an specific system version? Or is it out of the box?
Just got my Crosstrek Premium and it keeps asking me to plug the cable. 🤔

Does the connection process you showed have to be repeated each time you get into the car?
Does anyone know when/if this is coming to 23 WRX's?
Doesn't work on mine (and I just got it yesterday). I'm kind of disappointed :(
@@laurentmathivet1214 Same here.
Same
Same here just bought mine last week, Subaru is really screwing AA owners
Anyone got it to work yet? Just bought a 23 wrx
At 4:00 you can't turn on Audio Bluetooth - I have the same problem.
Has anyone been able to solve this?
I didn't "allow" access to my phones audio.
is it in 2022 models?
Not wireless.
@@mikemunster it only takes up half of the screen
@Salty Sea on the 22 and older year model, it does only utilize half the screen.
Mine needs updates, how do you do that
Waste of car space creating a huge screen and can't even watch TH-cam or videos
They didn't want someone driving and watching videos, neither do I.
