      @@HamzaJamzaFamza Explorer. Right now it's plugged to a 12 watt 68 Princeton Reverb I just bought. I was worried about the high power rating on the speaker for my little amp when I ordered it but dealer said it was no problem and he was right. It was a total fluke I ended up with the Amperian. I wanted to order the Warehouse Reaper and had never even heard of Amperian until the dealer suggested it because my choice was out of stock. He just said it was like the LEXUS model of Warehouse Speakers for 50 bucks more. I said send it. I stuck it in an really old beat up stage monitor box I found in the trash. magnificent!

    Such a nice warm sound you're getting out of that Princeton, I don't get why they put these awful Jensen C10 speakers into these amps. I recently upgraded my 65 reissue with a G10 Gold, it sounds amazing now, no comparison to how it sounded before. Also did some of the mods you suggested in your other videos, I love the way the tremolo sounds now with the increased depth and decreased speed. Keep it up with the regular uploads, I immensely enjoy your content :)

    Sold! I bought a Tweed issue Fender 65 Princeton with a 12 inch Cannabis Rex speaker in it. I don't like that speaker! I wanted 60s clean Fender tones. That CRex peaker colours the sound away from the vintage Fender clean that I've had and loved. that. The CRex may sound good with OD petals and such, but I want Fender Clean, though an occasional OD pedal. Thanks for demo-ing this WGS G10, I'll order the 12 inch for my Princeton. :)

  • @nickbenjamin6527
    @nickbenjamin6527 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't understand why Fender don't make a 1x12 combo just the vibrato/reverb channel of a Deluxe Reverb, ideally with some voltage control on the output and a bright switch and mid control, Black Panel styling and classic AB763 circuit where it matters and a decent speaker. I remember trying a PRRI years ago and had to turn the bass up to nearly maximum like you demonstrate here and went for the much heavier and with the pointless (for most modern players who don't plug the whole band into one amp) second channel DRRI.

    • @zuperdee

      They do! Fender does make “Limited Edition” 1x12 versions of the Princeton.

    • @nickbenjamin6527
      @nickbenjamin6527 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zuperdee yes I've seen that model but I'm talking about a redesign of a full Deluxe with its long tail pair phase splitter and slightly higher power but no second channel (having a bright switch gets both channel's sounds pretty much). Might be possible to get the benefits of a DR at the price of a PR, could even leave off the tremolo circuit and keep the spring reverb circuit so you just get the core of what most people need. Adding a power control like the Bassbreaker 45 could take it up a level of versatility.

I don't own any pedals so I try to get all my tone just out of my 30, 15 & 10. I have Alnico Blues in my 30, Greenbacks in my 15c2 and whatever is stock in the 10. @@foolhardymcpain I guess so, technically… Though I think some aspects of Fender are better today, and others worse. The Custom Shop, for example, is higher quality than ANYTHING Fender did in the past, pre-CBS, CBS-era or otherwise, but commensurately expensive, too. The PCB wiring in their general production models is something they clearly MUST do nowadays to have any hope of survival in the marketplace, but surely Fender could have at least have taken proper measures to address the most common and predictable failure points, as others like Marshall and Vox have done! It seems like most failures in standard Fender reissue amps result from things like poor quality filter caps, poor wire routing, and poor heat management resulting in things like cooked PCBs and failed solder joints to the tube sockets! If they cared at all about the customer or making a quality product that lasted longer than just 2 years, surely these things could be addressed in cheap ways without necessarily going all-out on hand wiring.
