  • Michael Leib was second in the 125 class at the 2019 Red Bull Straight Rhythm on what started out as a basket-case 2002 Honda CR125. Obviously, they got the bike working pretty darn good, and Ping got his hands on this machine to do a little track test. Check it out!

    That bike sounds so good it just makes you want to cry. I don't care how fast a four stroke is, they just don't make you feel the way a flat out 2 stroke does.

    Sure doesn’t sound like you had an issue with 2nd and 3rd. She sounded sexy the entire time the camera was rollin 🤘🏻 Videos like this give me the drive to find a clapped out 02-07 CR 125 or 250 2 stroke and build it from the ground up. No fancy motor work or anything just bring it back to showroom quality and ride the $hit out of it. As always I love the vids Ping, keep them coming!

    I have a serious question, how many bikes have pingree break or blow up prior to shooting the videos he dose? Jus wondering, these videos r awesome but we all no every bike has its issues, if someone could answer this I’d appreciate it!

    Still have my YZ315 stroker from Straight Rhythm if you want to try it. Runs really strong, and has A-Kit.

    I had a 134 cylinder for an 03 cr125 engine. It was way down on power compared to my 02 stock motor. I believe the angles of the ports become shallower and mess up the porting. I would love to know more about the engine setup like porting and head volume, squish, power valve setup, case mods and reeds etc. Please share this info it's not like it needs to be kept secret 18 years on 😅
    Bike sounds fantastic. And great job at red bull it made me proud to own one.

      Sorry 4 my english, i'm italian. 2002 factory connection honda, have a plate under the cylinder for raise up the porting, and a rod connecting longer than stock

      I had two or three as well with ahead mailed to a different shape and running the RN piston which was taller giveaway more lower low-to-mid snap which carried right into the top-end Iran the pro circuit pipe with the 134 outdoor silencer and it just scream to the Moon the chassis was just beautimous

    Does any one know if the PWK 38mm Airstryker will fit in a stock intake airboot and reed cage boot for a 2002 Cr125?

    The suspension as mentioned, looked crazy stiff for that track. Thanks for punishing yourself for us while making it look good.

    It’s a 134....
    Bike looks good though and good result at RBSR🤙

      125-ish...and he was still at a disadvantage compared to the 150s at that race.

      Vital MX Yeah def, modern bikes nearly 18 years newer, later geo, sus etc not saying his effort wasn’t awesome it was outstanding, result in final imo still rider though, the bike was clearly good enough, as a Roczen proved against the Factory KtMs made into 300s.
      I just point that out because title says 125.
      The only disapointing thing about RBSR is the cheating! esp by KTM.
      If you have a 125 class it should be 125, not 126, not 134/144/150, same in 250 class if it’s called a 250 class it’s 250cc not 265/300.
      Worse is that the biggest cheats already as above stated have at-least a 15year advantage in evolution over 2000s gen CRs, RMs, KXs and YZs.
      The title said 125 so why I called it, top effort bike looks and sounds mint as. btw some good riding by the Ping as well he looks good on a CR 2t🤙

    You got second in the straight rhythm cuz that for one that bike was far more advanced than everybody ever gave it credit for is Ricky Carmichael can attest the frames were almost identical on the 2:50 those Honda's all the way up till 7 really super stable sharp turning chassis that were perfected by that time it is you can see if you watching the video the KTMs Johnson all over the place through the wolves in the Hondas just level as can be just a really really great chassis the motor slightly lac stock though
