Everything is always at the perceived ‘centre’ of that which it is able to detect..

Hi FluentPiffle!! Love the name... Yes your comment is quite correct. It is "Self perception" that is the key I think. It suggests that the viewer whether it be Human or Microbe.. Is the centre of its own Universe from the point of view of relativity. This idea raises some uncomfortable inferences.. Is there only one living thing!! It simply lives all lives at one time or another!?

@@michaelpotter3126 It all hinges on what an existentially correct understanding of infinitude necessarily means..
People have a very poor understanding of what the word 'infinite' actually means.. This is not any kind of 'fault', but just that we have evolved within the confines of what appears to be a finite environment, and we thus try to look at things in finite ways, also justifying those 'finite' thoughts. When I first approached the 'problem' I had the same difficulties, so it takes our minds a lot of effort to reach another perspective of understanding, but it IS achievable..
Firstly, there cannot be more than one 'instance' of infinitude, otherwise a secondary 'thing' would render them both 'finite'. So we are describing a 'oneness'.. Also, it can have no 'beginning' nor 'ending' as these would also necessitate a secondary 'thing' (or the utter nonsense of a 'nothing'!), so we are describing 'eternity' when we apply 'time' concepts. Then, we have to admit that it can only be the one thing that interconnects all other 'things', and we deduce this to be 'Space', necessarily..
All references to 'size' or 'direction' do not apply to the nature of infinitude, and thus have no relevance to our understanding of the true nature of existence. 'Measurement' has limitations.. When we point to any position in Space, we effectively create a 'beginning' to any subsequent forms of measurement, which only has relevance to the entity desiring to understand said 'measurement'. This does not make it a feature of the nature of reality, only a desire from a Human perspective.

@@fluentpiffle I think I get what you are saying.. I've dwelt on such matters for decades. Using the famous line by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes.. I think the line is in "The Sign of Four" and it goes something like... "Once you eliminate the impossible, Whatever remains however Improbable Must Be the Truth"? Trouble is when dealing with matters that are infinite and "Omni" eliminating the impossible is not that easy! Lol. Never the less that's how I've approached the matter. Here it is from another angle.. Imagine there was a magic number?! A mathematical Holy Trinity.. One, Zero and Infinity. The three numbers are the same number given that the context of ONE means One and Only One.. The universe is a mass where the centre and the edge are in the same place?! Reply any time.. this is getting interesting!?

@@michaelpotter3126 That is a variation on the ‘occams razor’ premise that all of science is supposed to be based on, but seems to have been neglected since the word ‘propaganda’ started to become popular..
Infinitude is one thing, necessarily, so the solution to your ‘holy trinity’ conundrum is that infinity and one are the same thing, and ‘zero’ is a non existent human concept that has no place in a description of truth and reality..
Likewise, the concept of ‘edges’ does not apply to infinitude.
Yes, it does take our minds a long time to adjust to new information. Thinking wears well-trodden pathways in our memories, and suddenly changing directions into a pathless land can seem very scary and labour intensive, which is why I suspect most people do not do it..

@@fluentpiffle As I hinted at.. this is becoming very interesting.. Our exchange I mean. I differ only in the concept of "Zero" in that if you divide anything by Zero the answer is infinity! With one exception of course.. Divide Zero by Zero and what is the answer.. Is it One? Infinity? Or Zero? Or all three... Lol. Anyway I think the human mind generally speaking is governed by the imagination. Our animal brains MUST perceive the way they do for simple self protection. Our Sub Conscience still thinks we are running around Ethiopia where we all originate from. We have to perceive that way or we would never have survived coming down from the trees and yet this perception blinds us to the subject we are dwelling on. I've come to the conclusion that the Universe is ONE dimensional and that dimension is simply outward from the viewer? Have to confess I'm starting to enjoy these little exchanges of ours.. Pretty soon we'll have the answer to Life.. The Universe.. and Everything!? Though it will be difficult to explain how the hell "Ant and Dec" became so popular.. You probably have to be from the UK to see the joke in that!!

From the point of view of relativity which is the only point that matters.. The centre of the Universe is the viewer.. All else is history.. We see the sun as it was little over 8 minutes ago.. Betelgeuse as it was 650 years ago.. The fingers on your hand billionths of a second ago but nonetheless still in the past. The viewer is the precise centre in time... "NOW" and Space.. "Here"!!
