@Kayin Oguntoyinbo And finally you find yourself somehow as a pure conciousness without a body that have nothing to do anymore in the timeless nothingness after death of the multiverse.
To prove quantum immortality you need to test it out yourself bc you need to be the 1x10^ -100% and only in that one universe you survived, quantum immortality would be proven. So if there are other observers in this kind of nuke experiment where the scientists could die as well. From the scientists perspective him and the test subjects are both immortal because the death of one would mean death of the other. But in the case of someone watching the cameras miles away from the test site there will be almost 100% certainty that after x amount of presses the scientist and test subject will die in this universe. and that's why it's really unlikely, that quantum immortality will ever be proven
Quantum immortality reminds of this thought I’ve had as far back as I can remember. Ever since the thought of energy being basically infinite in one form or another carrying on through various ways and whatnot…if it really is, then there’s no end, to anything maybe. That always takes me to another thought, that for the universe to exist at all, it couldn’t have neither a beginning or end, maybe like energy if it is infinite in one form or another, because if it had a beginning, it could and likely would have an end and if there’s an end, why would it or how could it exist at all. Time right? Has to have something to do with time, what time really is, if it exists at all or if we can even eventually reach a level of understanding it and everything else we’d need to be able to learn and understand those big questions/answers like the ones posed that generate all these theories, thoughts and discussions…the unknown. The horrifying prospect of never being able to understand the world before our time ends in it…because of whatever time is…or maybe not, we’ll all find out one day regardless, when each of ours runs out. That’s exciting in a way, either it ends, or something else occurs. Seems like the odds of something else occurring, in the case of these thoughts and ideas, the possibility is great than there being…nothing. If you read this ramble, thanks for reading it, I’ve always wanted to get that out into words, if they make any sense lol.
@@MrGshock2 here’s another one, maybe we’re inside of a black hole so large we can’t quite comprehend the scale except when thinking that space is dark because that darkness enveloping our universe is the inside of the black hole itself, waiting for another kind of Big Bang or something when it finally dies and releases all of this matter within it…that or it is itself what lies beyond the reaches of observable space…a remnant of the Big Bang perhaps…something along these lines presented. The more time passes…the crazier the thoughts will get.

you can compare absolutely everything in this universe to how a computer operates, ESPECIALLY HUMANS, which is super scary because we are also on the brink of creating a digital universe, so zooming out (digital universe theory) it would be literally a smaller donut, in a donut, in a bigger donut, and maybe be infinitive, with each bigger donut getting better and better, because of the size of the size of the donut increasing, but since its infinitive, it can either get to a constant rate of quality, or a linear rate of quality, like how screenshotting a screen shot over and over again would worsen the quality. and this is why i cant focus in class lmfao

holy shit I actually thought about the theory of quantum immortality before even knowing what it was. I used to think "what if there are many timelines where I end up dead for whatever reason and the only reason I am alive right now is because I can only perceive the timelines where I live". I feel so fuckin smart right now I'm very proud of myself
29:40 there's also a new timeline where you press the button with your left hand and survive, one where you press it with your right hand and survive, one where you press it with your left hand and die, one where you press it with your right hand and die, one where you don't press it, one where you say "i'm not pressing it" one where you say "i'm not pressing it" in a british accent ecc
The quantum mortality thing basically implies that every near-death experience creates a branch timeline where you die, but you’re just living in the one where you survived
@@gollumjr03 That's basically the point. There's always a alternate timeline where you're alive. So while you die of old age it's possible that there's another timeline where you're still old and alive

i think its really interesting how so many people, including myself, spontaneously conceived the idea of quantum immortality, especially as a young child. i wonder why that is
@@xptaco2298 Not really, quantum immortality is bound to quantum mechanics itself which has a base around probability. So if the probability of your death was 100%, then not even the universe could get you out of that one, or it would be breaking a very essential law which would just make reality rip itself apart.
Bro I swear when I was a kid I had the ability to space out and imagine I didn't exist, but it would always get interrupted by intrusive thoughts of a train coming out of a subway tunnel
Btw is not exactly that the timeline "splits" it's a little bit more complicated than that, the universe doesnt actually works like Avengers endgame or back to the future, it's more like there are theoretical countless, posibly infinite universes if the theory of the multiverse proves to be correct but only a limited number of ways the atoms in the universe can be organized, so what happens when you have an infinite number of something but only a limited number of combinations inside that something you may ask? Well what happens is that those combinations repeat themselves infinitely, so it's less "every time I make a diferent decition the timeline splits" and more like "there is an inifinite number of universes where every single event in that universe happened exactly the same way as in this universe we live in but in that universe i choose to wear red socks today instead of blue socks, apart from that everything else is identical"
Nah I'm the dumbest kid in my class and I understood this (sort of innit). Like the quantum immortality, I'm pretty sure every human has thought about that before they actually knew what it was
The thing I love the most about the universe is if you go deep enough down any possible rabbit hole, you always end up with “and we have no idea why the fk this happens it just does we don’t understand it”

I usually listen to these icebergs in the background while playing some games but this one held me glued to the screen for the whole run time. I really hope you will make more videos like this one, especially more science-related icebergs. Top-tier contet, keep it up bro.
Wow, I can't tell you how much this means to me! This is my first video and I’m so glad people are liking it. I am also glad you liked the music during quantum immortality, since I actually made the music for it myself. Thank you so much, and yes, I am working on a second science-related video ;)
I never heard of quantum immortality until now but I thought about this scenario when I was a young teenager. I accidentally shocked myself on an electrical wall outlet and for the next minute it made my hand feel weird. It was way too strong to be static discharged but at the same time it wasn't painful. While I was glad that I didn't get electrocuted, I thought to myself what if I was electrocuted but my consciousness was somehow transported to an alternate version of me where I wasn't electrocuted.
OMG I have the same thoughts when I remember that time I almost got run over when I was a kid or the time when blacked out at a swimming pool. What if I actually died ???
The types of shocks that usually kill people go across the heart through both hands, you were absolutely electrocuted, and that's why electricians work with one hand in their pocket.
So everyone who has killed themselves simply had their mind transferred to another version of themselves where they lived? That must suck really bad for them if this theory is true as their mental suffering has no end.
@@ThwipThwipBoom I think it isn't that good. To the universe, you are not important, you are just a couple of particles and conscience can be described as just a consequences of the complex interactions in your brain. So, there is no conscience transfered. If I clone you and I kill you. Your clone will believe that he is you. Maybe the same happens when the timeline "splits". There are going to be two of you, and indeed you can die, and the other will live.

That quantum immortality theory at the end is something I've been hypothesizing since far before knowing anything about quantum theory. I feel like it might just be an optimistic manifestation based on our fear of death.. unfortunately..

@@raidermaxx2324 Depends which one. We could assign varying levels of statistical likelihood to different theories. @@raidermaxx2324 The same could be said about modern atheist followings. Takes some faith to assume there is no creator. Even if it is almost certain that no man made theory of what god is, could be correct. The truth at the moment is that it is impossible to test. And there is no way to know.
iceberg charts have been so so amazing. they are really informative, really interesting, and so many small youtubers have got big off of them. keep posting high quality videos like these and youre going places
Something I find interesting about this iceberg is that some things are in actuality quite easy to understand but are far down in the iceberg. Virtual particles are actually super simple, especially if you start by looking at “hole” particles. Much easier to understand than a worm hole.
strictly speaking these are simplified explanations and the obscurity level would be more accurate to how much the entirety of humanity understands these phenomena on a scientific level. since the hawking radiation and virtual particles are only recently observed, compared to black holes, gravity, spacetime and dark matter/energy
I mean a lot of the those deep theories are broken down so much that on their own they are easy to grasp. It's how they all combine and relate to the greater image of physics and the universe is the hard part. Which is precisely why we are seeking to unifying the major theories such as general relativity and quantum mechanics through the equation of everything.
This was probably one of my favorite videos I’ve ever watched. So informative about the ins and outs of space time. Makes me want to keep pursuing these subjects. Thanks for making this video possible!

It's funny how according to this iceberg, the topics of our casual discussions with my friends are actually level 6 super duper mega secret knowledge. There is nothing harder in quantum immortality or the dark hole information paradox (knew about this one since grade 6) than in knowing the structure of atom and basic info on what a black hole is. Much harder is math behind all of those things. Different formulas, graphs and other stuff. Also, philosophical concepts are all complex enough to have their own iceberg as an extension to that one, so it would start from level 7 and continue on from that. Specialized knowledge is the thing that is truly hard to obtain. You can really make an iceberg on almost each topic from this iceberg.

Trippy thought u had there
@@MrGshock2 here’s another one, maybe we’re inside of a black hole so large we can’t quite comprehend the scale except when thinking that space is dark because that darkness enveloping our universe is the inside of the black hole itself, waiting for another kind of Big Bang or something when it finally dies and releases all of this matter within it…that or it is itself what lies beyond the reaches of observable space…a remnant of the Big Bang perhaps…something along these lines presented.
The more time passes…the crazier the thoughts will get.

@@raidermaxx2324 Depends which one. We could assign varying levels of statistical likelihood to different theories. ‘Say you’re at you’re local black hole, just vibing’ actually gave me a mad chuckle
Something I find interesting about this iceberg is that some things are in actuality quite easy to understand but are far down in the iceberg. Virtual particles are actually super simple, especially if you start by looking at “hole” particles. Much easier to understand than a worm hole.
Aren't icebergs ordered by obscurity?
strictly speaking these are simplified explanations and the obscurity level would be more accurate to how much the entirety of humanity understands these phenomena on a scientific level. since the hawking radiation and virtual particles are only recently observed, compared to black holes, gravity, spacetime and dark matter/energy
