This is a huge help. One of my best friends passed a little more than a week ago & I wanna recreate his face for something I wanna give to his family
Hi! Thank you for making this tutorial!
There are a couple of errors that we'd like to point out.
1) You didn't setup camera and didn't switch on automatic focal length estimation. Usually that makes the result much worse, because by default it's being setup to 50mm lens on a full frame camera (probably we will change it in future).
2) When you change photos in Photoshop digitally zooming the picture - you're changing the focal length while it should be the same across all photos.
3) It's better to start pinning features like corners of the eyes, mouth, etc instead of matching the edges of chin, cheeks, forehead, etc. Because you don't know where exactly the point that you've clicked on the model's cheek is on the real person's face, same for chin, forehead, etc. In the same time, you can easily see where the corner of the eye is on the model and on the real person's face.
🖖
thanks for this awesome tool! i wish there was a tutorial for using images with no Exif data, like when trying to do a celebrity with images from google. say i find a set of images taken at the same time but obviously, without camera info. are there recommended generic settings for that? thank you.
You rock
the price tho. its a great product but like for students its not very practical
Wtf?
pay them to make a tutorial or make one yourself? Why is there so little tuts on your software?
This is really cool. Generally manual modeling tends to always be symmetrical which leaves an artificiality tone. This new technology as well as photogrammetry help in the authenticity of the model.
I reaaaaaallly want this tecnology in games with character creator.
Rainbow six Vegas had it if I remember correctly

Are you referring to Character Creator 3 (CC3) from Reallusion Products )??? Because if so there's the new plug-in called Headshot which is way more professional then what we see in this video.
Of course you'll need CC3 Pipeline. But good news because of the present situation in the world they are have a 50% sale on all their product line (not the Market places)
In case you're curious: www.reallusion.com/character-creator/headshot/
I still have a lot to learn when it comes to customizing and sculpting my characters. but I've been really hoping for an add on like this because it'll help me with a face base. I have no problems with bodies and clothing but faces are like the ultimate enemy for me haha I need all the help I can get.
Great tutorial, clear run through of the process making it feel really accessible, thank you!
What an amazing tool, will definitely head over to download it 😉
Great intro and explain. Thanks!
I’m so excited for Blender Just in general. I LOVE Blender.
why are you excited FOR it?

nice bro woww, clap clap, you the man
You should donate. Every dollar makes a difference.
@@huyifan83 i wanna love it too but it doesn't make me feel welcome like C4D does. that's PURE love!
I love blender but the ui is so daunting 😱😱😱 so many options I get lost and find it hard to navigate and I HV to learn all d shortcuts against coz so many of them if I get out of practice for even a month😖
Love it! Thanks for this video. I made mine in about 30 minutes thanks to all the tutorial! Now I can really import my cosplay files onto my exact head haha
Thanks for your videos, they are always great and informative!
This Is amazing. Feels like the future is finally here.

Thank you so much 😌
Thank you so much, I tried so many tools to create a simply Face pictiure to 3D model, but everything was trash, this one helped me alot
Thx bro i was looking for something like this every where i finally found it and you did a very good job in explaining in detail
The person with the face of that default face in 1:27 is the luckiest human being on Earth.
Although this is true I still find it savage😂😂😂
great overview. how did you zoom in? my hotkey zoom (i think it's option-middle button) doesn't work in pin mode, only when i exit pin mode, so i have to use the zoom icon, which is not ideal. thanks.
Thx!!! Great and objective tutorial. first view, new subscriber! Peace and health!
WOW this is a next level of modeling
Jesus, a tool you wish existed years ago...this is very cool! 🤯🤯🤯
Oh of course of course! Maybe technology can get so good that artists are no longer needed and production houses can outsource virtually everything to people overseas and pay them 2 dollars an hour. It'll all be so great!!
@@artistryartistry7239 it will be fine
Amazing. Thank you for posting this.
You are so skilled! Thanks for the tutorial!
Thanks. I am starting a youtube channel for tutorial in maths. I am having a plan to include 3D animations for concept clarity. And i have not even done 2D yet. But i still hope i can make it, your detailed lectures are great.. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
remember the days when creating real faces is just so difficult?
Or you know, actually required skill, dedication, and commitment to one's craft?
@@artistryartistry7239 Like he said, difficult.
Its still hard if u do it traditionally like sculpting a face with clay or carving a stone but digital is faster :) if u make a mistake just press undo ;)
Well, it truly is a boost for starting but it still needs a lot of human work to get something photoreal
New Slogan:
"You wanna create real faces without a process you'll hate?"

Thank you so much, looks like it is totally worth to try
Love this plugin. SO useful!!!
Did you try one of the UV'd head textures off that 3Dsk site, I got a lot of those way back before I knew you'd need a head mesh made from same person, never been able to use them

Good luck with the mediocre results :) This tool comes bot ecen close ro what a professional modelr can do.
I just installed blender. This is a great entry point for me THANKS
Very cool, thanks for sharing!
i'm trying to get the morph function to work. how do i get "add modifiers" to work in my blender 2.79? when i hit the "apply" button, it says "modifiers disabled". but it is enabled. it says other things need to be "on" eveything is on. what am i doing wrong?
Just download blender 2.8. Haha.

Blender: I never freeze!
Windows: Blender stopped working

OMG. it's the only method of pinning that works, all others recommending to start with corner of eyes or ears, or other parts don't work but for the first two pins, the third pin going really boom, with the mesh at 1km distance from the photo although I dragged it 1mm, or so, including the official tutorial from Kentools, insult to injury.
Are you the only sane person out of tens of thousands ? Thanks a lot.
You forgot to mention that you have to pay for the blender addon.

blender is easy ha ha ha
3D is being pushed more toward the creative expression in the work rather than the technical expertise to control the software.
That how it always is, from photoshop 1 to now, now days it doesn't take much for a person to do work in photoshop that it use to plugins killed the technical side of it, same as templates for graphic design has taken being paid for having the skills away from a lot of people
Thank God :)
I love that direction as while technical skill should be praised, creative expression becoming accessible will allow us to see so many things we wouldn't have otherwise.
That's the idea of CG in general, isn't it? So people won't be caught up in the daunting tasks, which can be automated.
@@NecoLumi Right until design work becomes a commodity mostly driven by easy to use technology such that the barrier to entry is so low that concepting and design work becomes dirt cheap (a trend that's already happening), driving down wages and further increasing competition for the same dwindling jobs. I love that direction too. You're right, it's a wonderful, wonderful direction. Soon artists will go the way of other industries who are seeing skyrocketing unemployment, diminished wages, and oversaturation of the industry. Yes, let's all just praise the onset of skill reducing technology, whee!!! Pretty soon we'll all just be able to click a button and it'll be like create a character, like in video games. Yay! :)
very nice tutorial! great job!
Wow, thank you!
i just made my head and now i won't be able to sleep until i burn my computer

AskNK firstly I just want to say love your accent . I found this video really helpful, as I want to make a 3D printed person of the head, I think this will be the way in which I get there. Thank you very much for uploading this very helpful information 👌😬
Awesome...... blender + plug-ins are kicking it off the park
Why I got recommended this 4 times
Unfortunately this doesn't do hair. Photogrammetry still might be a better bet.
What's that?
No it isn't. Photogrammetry requires a careful camera and lighting setup, and depending on your computer hardware and software settings, can take ages to recreate the face. Then you need to retopo it. This method may not be as accurate, but it's a relatively quick and effective method.
It'll give you more detail but you need many high quality images to produce a good 3d model. It seems like this is more of a quick and dirty way to produce results.
Can't you just create a particle hair?
Since when did photogrammetry do hair?
Thank you. Very cool.
i need a full tutorial of this explainging how to work with pictures of people with hair
THIS
On my first try, mine looks like a monster... on acid. I think I'll stick with "old school" sculpting a little longer.

From the developer website:
Do I need a license for FaceBuilder for Blender?
Not at the moment! You can use FaceBuilder for Blender for free while it's in free open beta test. Though, we'd be really grateful if you tell us about your experience and issues you faced!
