Fun fact, the dollar store pregnancy test said I was pregnant. I tried three much more expensive options from the drugstore that all told me I wasn't...I'm now 8 weeks. Don't knock the dollar store pregnancy tests
Another fun fact is that pregnancy tests (not matter how cheap or how expensive) can only give false negatives but never false positives if it says you’re pregnant then you’re pregnant 🤣

Cookie Monster not true! They can give false positive but it is rare. I have an app where theres a community of women and sadly some get false positives....and some brands actually are faulty and give off false positives.
Fun fact: ALWAYS BUY PINK DYE PREGNANCY TEST, AS BLUE DYE GIVE FALSE POSITIVES MORE OFTEN THAN PINK DYE.
Another fun fact: Digital pregnancy test take more HCG (pregnancy hormone in urine used to determine if you’re pregnant or not) to give a positive. So always buy the one with the lines, as they take less HCG to determine pregnancy.
Another another fun fact: It does not matter how faint the second line is on a pregnancy test, if there is a line at alllllll YOU ARE PREGNANT!

I thought all tests looked like that. Ive done a cheaper one and an expensive one, and they both worked like that. (In germany tho) the cheaper one just came without the plastic.

They're really cheap in the UK, even good brands (lilets, always, bodyform.) You could pretty much be covered completely with spares for $2-3 per period!

I'm a nurse and I can confirm that these are incredibly accurate and the same as any other test. some of the cheaper ones are actually more sensitive!

Yeah at my doctor's they use the dropper onto that weird little tray and read the lines exactly like they did in the video. I hella went into my doctor's thinking I was pregnant and spent $19 extra dollars for them to take a test similar to a $1 version.

I bought one from the 99 cents store and left it in my bathroom (unused, unopened) for several months. In January, my husband lost his job unexpectedly, so when my period didn't come, I wrote it off as stress because I was the only one making any income at the time. I ended up falling and popping my cervical and thoracic vertebrae (bones in the neck and upper back), and started getting incredibly nauseous during my physical therapy. My husband is actually the one who said he thought I was pregnant and to take the test I had bought months before, and it came up positive. Went to Planned Parenthood for confirmation that day, and they also got a positive.
One thing I will say is that if you use a cheap pregnancy test, get one with PINK dye. Blue dye ones often give false positives and the ink bleeds, making them inconclusive. Pink dyes, for whatever reason, will give you a more accurate reading.

I have 12 more weeks left :) He and I are doing pretty good, he's a little over 2 pounds right now. My back had been sore, but my doctor had me see a chiropractor and WOW, if you've never been to one, that's a crazy experience, but I felt great the day after.

Believe it or not, those cheap $1 pregnancy tests are what public health clinics use to determine pregnancy. They are also used by pathologists during autopsies because urine can be extracted with a syringe from the bladder and its much faster than waiting on a blood test. The packaging and convenience is what you are paying for. The $1 tests are just as accurate as the $20 tests.

When I watched her do exactly what these lady's did I looked at her weirdly. She looked back at me and said "you can buy these pregnancy tests at Walmart for 88¢" .... my life changed since.
Yep. Once I was scheduled to have surgery on my uterus and ovaries, so I couldn't be pregnant when I had the procedure. My period was late that month. It was the day before the procedure, and I called my doctor to ask what to do. The nurse told me to go to the dollar tree and pick up a $1 test, and if it was negative (it was) I could still have the surgery. So if a doctor trusts the results, so do I. Sure, I wouldn't have trusted one before that, but now I know they're just as good as the others.
I got 2 from dollar tree. Both came out positive... went to the doctor & found out i was 12 weeks pregnant. These are the same test they use at the clinic.

I took a dollar store pregnancy test because my menstrual cycle was very irregular at the time (getting off birth control) and it was to ease my mind. Come to find out I was actually pregnant. Now my daughter will be two in August and her daddy and I are more than blessed💞

the pink dye dollar store pregnancy tests are notoriously reliable, though. the exact same chemical reaction is happening in the dollar tests. both expensive and cheap tests can be invalid. you are paying for branding and to not have to pee in a cup.

It's pretty common for birth control to fail. I know 5 people that the birth control has failed them. They even used condoms, but those kept breaking. Even for me and my boyfriend our condoms kept breaking because we are usually too rough in bed.

The dollar store tests detected my pregnancy the FIRST day it was possible to detect it. Nobody could see the line but me and everyone said I was crazy. He's 9 months old now. They save a lot of money when you're trying to conceive for 3 years.

Smokey Johnson, easy. I was trying to save money when we were ttc and bought the cheap tests because a lot of women, myself included go through a lot of different tests in a cycle. You have ovulation tests to tell when you will ovulate, blood tests to confirm that you did ovulate, home pregnancy tests to check for pregnancy and then blood tests from the doctor to verify 100% that you did or did not conceive and that's not including the ultrasounds too make sure your uterine lining is thick enough to support a pregnancy and that you actually have ovarian follicles ready to ovulate. A single cycle for my husband and I costs us an average of $300. Your going to want to save money where you can during the process because you don't want to go broke trying to get pregnant and then have no money left when you actually do. At least that's from the perspective of someone trying to get pregnant and battling infertility.

Why buy sth more expensive if a cheaper version does the trick? If a person is trying to conceive, they are just eager to know if they're pregnant, but since it's not bad news, they can also risk to find out the natural way, you know (hint: time).

We should be happy there's at least one instance of a good economical option for feminine products. Don't discourage people like teens who might need these and can't afford $30 ones!

Im eight months pregnant, and let me tell you, I did like 3 of these and found out I was pregnant, and obviously i went to the doctor to confirm it.But, I don't get how its so different between finding out on a dollar test, and a 15$ test? it'll give you the same result.

I was pregnant and the $1 was MORE accurate than the expensive stuff. I took like 50 tests at 4 weeks and only the $1 showed a faint positive.

Very true!! I bought the cheap wondfo amazon tests in bulk. A dollar tree test was seriously positive at 5 weeks late before the wonfo test 😳 the Amazon took 8 weeks for me to confirm a pregnancy.

I just happened across this video but I am a Medical Assistant and those look exactly like the test we use in the office when someone wants to know if they are pregnant.
Why do they shame this test for being cheap and think that it won't be right? I study biotechnology and got to know how these tests work. They are pretty good and precise due to different receptors on the strip. Nothing else needed

When I was pregnant, the 7 $1 pregnancy tests I took were 100% accurate, and the hospital appeared to use one too (lol!) to confirm it. Of course, a blood test followed to be absolutely correct, and it was positive too. Anyways, I refused to overspend on a pregnancy test (just for it to tell me it was false negative/false positive), so I went to a Dollar Tree and purchased several tests to take over a 7 day period and labeled each test with the date and time it was taken, after another irregular menstrual cycle and prior to my hospital visit. Fortunately, I received satisfactory results, so I plan on using a one dollar pregnancy test or several (lol) for future pregnancies. :-)
You cannot get a false postive result on a pregnancy test.
See, I did my reseach quite a time ago. It`s what you need to pass your exam to be a nurse. I repeat, you cannot get a wrong positive on a pregnancy test.

Also, there's no need for me to pass an exam to be a nurse or a doctor in order to use common sense and be able to conduct my own research. We can agree to disagree without insulting each other's intelligence.

Furthermore, my doctor requires me to take a pregnancy test every month, so I'm fully aware of the possible results of a pregnancy test and its functionality. TMI, I know, but that's just an example of my frequent use and the little knowledge I possess about the test.

cheaper pregnancy tests are just as good as expensive ones. they just aren't packaged all pretty. i've been doing fertility treatments for seven years, i have a cupboard full of all different kinds. and you can go on any TTC (trying to conceive) message board and they'll say the same thing.
BUT pink dye tests are more accurate than blue dye tests.

When I was getting surgery, the pregnancy test came up as $40 on the medical bills. Absolutely bullcrap, especially considering I’m only 15, I’ve never been sexually active, and my boyfriend lives 2,000 miles away. I understand the liability for it, but $40?? Really??

This is how I found out I was pregnant like 3 weeks ago. Went to the dollar tree, bought a $1 test (the Assured Pregnancy test) as mentioned in this video and it came back positive. And yes. I went to the gyno afterwards and I am pregnant lol. Why waste $16+ on a pregnancy test when you can just go to the doctors and take a $1 one lol. Seriously though. It works.
And did you go to clinic recently to confirm that. Btw dont say to all your friends and family that you're pregnant because there are some chances of miscarriage

In India we find pregnancy tests for less than a dollar which is rupees 50 and they are proven very accurate and effective!

I've bought the tests that have 3 sticks in them for like $8 at Target. Don't know why because every time I've taken a pregnancy test I've never needed the other two. Then when I go to the clinic to start prenatal care they have to "verify" I'm pregnant and use the exact same thing shown in this video.
I used a $1 test at 1 week 4 days and it was extremely faint, but it came back positive. Went to the docs to confirm with a blood test and my levels were so low, they made me wait three more days to say yes, I was pregnant. But yeah, 1.5 weeks pregnant and the dollar store test picked it up!
You weren't 1.5 weeks pregnant it was 1.5 weeks post conception. You were actually 3.5 weeks pregnant. If you're period is 28 days, the day you miss your period you'd actually be 4 weeks pregnant. Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period.
Ashley Sanchez not all the time it’s mostly by when you conceived for example I have irregular periods when I found out I was pregnant with my second going from my last period I would have been 2 months but when went for an ultrasound baby was measuring 3 weeks so I conceived later.
@@betsysoto3353 At 3 weeks pregnant you cannot see anything in an ultrasound. At 5 weeks pregnant only the sac is usually seen. Week 2 of pregnancy is when conception happens, week 3 is when implantation happens, & week 4 is when a Pregnancy test should show positive at the time you miss your period.

I actually used a $1 dollar pregnancy test first before I took the Clear Blue expensive tests.. It showed up that I was pregnant! & I was only around 4 weeks pregnant, now i’m 15 weeks and 6 days pregnant!
When I worked at planned parenthood these were the types of tests we used. They don’t have to be expensive to work just as well as those that are. We always ran quality control on every lot number to assure accuracy.

I've used dollar pregnancy test for both of mine and they both popped up positive DAYS before my missed period. They're accurate more than the expensive digital ones
