The used car market is really good right now for those selling but buyers will pay more, not sure how long this will last though. I should be able to do pretty well when it comes time to sell. I just recently did some other maintenance costing me about 2k but it’s just normal stuff that needs to be done, breaks, spark plugs all that fun stuff. They’re not cheap cars by any means but keep up on the maintenance and they’ll last. That’s how I look at it.
@@noahwindle6572 it’s gonna come down to payments/maintenance, insurance and responsibility. Not sure where you stand on that if you’re doing it all or your parents are helping. Either way you’ll wanna make sure the care isn’t beat and kept up on maintenance, if you can get paperwork from owner that helps but always keep up on the maintenance yourself and don’t beat the hell out of the car and it will last.
@@Dscotty I was looking at a clean 2016 a4 s line clean title with 90k miles fully maintained and they just replaced the most expensive maintenance things and I was also looking at a 2013 Audi s4 with 130k miles, the guy has done the maintenance himself and it looks clean but it’s a rebuilt title, the accident didn’t break the frame or the airbags, it also has a Awe touring exhaust and CTs cold air intake while the a4 is stock
@@Dscotty I’m fully paying for everything, maintenance and insurance as well, my biggest concern would be is it being a money pit but I do like the s4s because of how they sound and drive, also idk how much of the maintenance I could do myself especially if it’s challenging, I heard you need special tools
@@noahwindle6572 this just my opinion but I’d stay away from rebuilt title and without a paper trail for the maintenance anyone can say they’ve done anything to the car. The A4 sounds like a safer bet but definitely make sure you get as much info on each of them before making any kind of decision and research both cars too, read forums watch videos and see what others are saying too. Don’t be afraid to keep looking elsewhere too if you’re not in a rush to buy
Just be cautious buying a used one and always ask for paperwork on the car for all maintenance done. They can be great cars but def a money pit if not kept up
I’d say to try an get an B8.5 which is 2013-2016. Audi made a few changes from the B8 model with some issues that were happening in those years. Lower miles the better but definitely try to get paperwork on maintenance done such as DSG flush ( should be done around 50k miles), spark plugs around 60k miles, oil changes (Audi says every 10k but do mine every 5-6k). It’s important to know how well the car was maintained and can help with reducing future problems.

I’m not entirely sure what the main cause is for the failure but I’ve seen in it all the B8 years as well as timing chains going bad too, seem to be common but is easy to notice. Make sure you test drive the vehicle, listen to it closely while idle and changing gears such as park, drive, Reverse and having someone who is knowledgeable about them helps too if they can come along with you.

I sold the car the other month but it had 58k on it for mileage no issues only thing I spent money on was an oil change
