PlastiDip Racing Stripes, Here's How It Went!
Mine sounds like that too with 034 and it’s even louder driving. To the point it’s annoying. Sounds like alternator. But I don’t have those nice pipes either.
Will this fit a 4.2L s5 ?
I’m a DD RT owner I was thinking going with track. Your video may push me to touring thanks.
I’m buying a MT b8.5 one on Mon. I am ecstatic and thanks for making the video.
The MT are so nice enjoy the car and be safe out there!
Any DIY Videos on how to install?
I didnt film the install but there are a lot of videos on YT you can find for this exact install, very straight forward
If you have the valves open in dynamic, is the idle louder than stock? I don’t want it to be TOO quiet
This particular system does not have active valve control where you can choose to open or close them via a button like some other systems do. Not sure if that’s what you’re referring to or not. They have “track” edition of this exhaust which is louder overall compared to this one the “touring” version
@@Dscotty my b9.5 S5 has the stock electronic exhaust valves that open in dynamic and close in comfort so if your model doesn’t then I guess my question is just does it sound better idling than it does stock haha
@@Facebookman168 it’s louder for sure than stock
4 year maintenance costs? What's your mileage now?
I sold the car the other month but it had 58k on it for mileage no issues only thing I spent money on was an oil change
@@Dscottywhyd u sell it?
@@InspiringgrowthIG wanted to get into another project
What's the point of opening them hoods lol most of em just got intake, exhaust, and tune anyway 😂
It was fun and we ended up out cards under the hood advertising our group too so why not 🤷🏻
Will I need to remap if I’ve changed my air intake
No I haven’t heard any issues with adding an intake after already having a tune if that’s what you’re referring too. Depending on your tune doesn’t hurt to ask or research. I have Apr and it wasn’t an issue
When is the nex meet/C&C ?
I’m not sure off the top of my head but if you go to Facebook and look up MAC (Maryland Audi Club) you’ll find schedules. The group is bigger than just Maryland that’s just the OG name we stuck with from the start
Wonder how many running 034 or jackal
Good question I’d have to ask the gang, I was running APR
Is the cold start to loud for neighbors in the early am
Not at all this is more tamed sound on cold starts compared to the track edition
Was trying to look at engines, but you blew right past em. Damn
went with track , sounds sooo good
Track edition is nice too! Congrats and be safe out there🤙🏼
Bonjour quel est le nom de l'échappement le son est incroyable
Intake is by integrated engineering and the exhaust is the AWE touring edition. Hope that answers you’re question correctly
Thanks You answered correctly 👌👌
i’ve really been thinking about getting a b8/b8.5 s4 just concerned about it being a money pit. lol i really want one tho haha
Just be cautious buying a used one and always ask for paperwork on the car for all maintenance done. They can be great cars but def a money pit if not kept up
Hey just got my b8.5 s5 a month ago and I’m looking at this exhaust. Love the sound of yours. But is there a difference in sound when your in comfort from dynamic mode?? And can I have a normal conversation with someone in the car while going 60mph on the highway without raising my voice?? lol
60mph and holding a conversation won’t be a problem there’s no drone with the touring edition. There’s a deeper growl compared to stock but really won’t notice a difference between those 2 modes unless you step the pedal
Which year is this car?
2016
Hey Man the S4 sounds great from the vid, I have a sportback with the twin scroll I the sound would be similar?
Hey thank you I appreciate it! Yeah I believe they would sound similar both sharing the v6 although probably some differences since you got the turbos vs the supercharger. I’m sure you can find some videos on here to compare
how many cans did you use for both mirrors?
1 can covered both mirrors just start light but I bought 2 cans just incase
Should I get q50s or a s4
Of course I’d say s4 but I don’t know much about the q50s. I would say test drive them both if you can. The s4 is a fun car and I love it.
literally debating the same exact thing rn bro.
Obviously S4. why would you get an Infiniti? unless you're a high school kid. lol
Is your whip tuned for the Audi shifts?
If you mean the DSG farts those are stock from the factory
Did you get a tune or no tune required?
Adding an aftermarket intake does not require a tune but my car does have a tune on it
How do you do this for the 2014 Infiniti Q50 3.7
Uhhh idk anything about that car
So the power doesn't increase? what a bummer...
I mean it says you gain some horsepower but nothing noticeable. More for sounds in my opinion
Drove past one of these and was shocked at how good it sounded. Phone audio really doesn’t justify how good it really sounds.
It never does but these cars sound amazing with the right setups, I’ve heard some not so good ones too though
i just got an apr stage 1 on my 2016 audi a6. when in dynamic, i smell something. did you ever have belt slippage?
Nahh never had any weird smells or noises after the tune. Might be worth looking on a forum or asking the shop that tuned it
@@Dscotty i just have ecu, tcu worth getting for more reliably ?
@@coencardelli6869 it’s better in my opinion since you have an ECU tune that way it’s all on the same page, they communicate better and drives much better, definitely worth it in my opinion
Stock cats? Tuned?
Yes stock cats and yes stage 1 ECU and TCU tunes from APR
@@Dscotty Cool; I wanna keep my stock cats for drone control. If you go stage 2 or higher then the stock cats won’t last very long on our cars; at least that’s what I’ve heard. Have you upgraded to resonated down pipes yet?
@@numbaz9172 Yeah stage 2 will melt the cats so usually gotta get them gutted. Nahh I wasn’t sure what difference it would really make vs the price. But I’ve thought about it a few times
@@numbaz9172 no, stock cats have no effect on drone. I have stock cats, stage 2 dp and have tons of drone w my currant setup. Ecs res valved. I had the touring and honestly would go back to it in a heartbeat. The valves are great but the sound is not as good, the ecs gets raspy too when you open it up. I don't like rasp. Some do. You can get away with stage 2 dp on 93 Oct if you're somewhat respectable w your driving. If your racing then yeah get rid of them but I've been driving this setup for almost 3 years w no issues. I have a gorgeous set of high flow cats sitting in a box that I planned on getting installed a few years back but was afraid of what the car would sound like. It will get very loud and raspy I learned after some research. And it's not something you can just put on real quick and if you don't like it swap it back. Have to pull the engine to replace the cats and that's real expensive. If it was a muscle car I'd be down to do it but too much going on in these engine bays these days, my luck I'd get done and have a pile of parts leftover and not know where they went lol.
@@HVACRTECH-83 Thanks for the info Bryan; However I’m solely referring to the AWE touring setup.. I know the ECS system is inferior imo and creates too much rasp and drone.. I’m not looking to push my car to the limit (i.e. stage 2 or higher) or break any time records. I’m more into bolt ons and aesthetic upgrades (PPF, wheels, suspension, intake, exhaust etc). I prob won’t exceed stage 1 therefore I plan to retain stock cats and DP for as long as possible. I have prioritized my build accordingly.
Does the touring non-resonator exhaust have drone?
Nahh no drone that’s what is great about the touring edition!
Just picked up a 2016 S5 and have been looking for some good info on intakes and exhausts for the car, I appreciate the info on your experience with the parts you have man
Thank you and congrats on your new ride! Enjoy it, amazing platform and overall great car! Be safe out there and thank you for checking out my page 😊
Thats so sick bro
Thank you I love it!!
@@Dscotty i see this video is 2 years old, do you regret getting the intake you did or do you wish you got a different brand or do you like the one you got
@@maxs4986 not at all I’m still very happy with this intake.
Buys sports car. Doesn’t drive it. Dumb
What’s crazy is with the tcu tune and in real life it’s waaaaayyyy more violent then what one sees here… I don’t think a video can give even the stock launch a realistic idea of how aggressive it actually is.
is ecu or tcu? better to do?
Honestly they go hand and hand but I noticed more of a difference with the TCU tune not power but quality of the transmission. But together they both really compliment eachother
How reliable has your car been? I’ve been looking at getting a b8.5 s4, still can’t decide between the manual or auto tho
The manual would be more fun but harder to come by. This car has been a dream to own no major issues I’ve encountered just typical Maintenance. Water pump and timing chains are common things to go wrong with this platform but I haven’t had any issues with mine
I started modes on my S5 from ECS X pipe and now wanted to do something with the intake system, I'm checking loads of different options at the moment but decided to go for IE - think it's one of best systems available and the price is reasonable, really love the sound of yours
Thank you so much!! I love that supercharger whine! I agree, IE is a reputable brand and I love what you get for the price! Enjoy the build and be careful out there!
Wow, so many cool cars I want them!!
Looks awesome! You should have 5 bolts to take out and put in,the 4th and 5th bolts go on each end 👍
"Knock on carbon." Weird flex, but ok.
Hi can you provide long term review on the TCU/ECU tune and at what mileage you got it at? Any issues/repairs needed or has it been smooth sailing
Of course!! I got you! But it’s been smoothing sailing for years now. A video will be in the works though with more specific details.
Isn’t that basically a hot air intake? Just sucking the super hot under hood air.
Air flow into the hood when you’re accelerating. You can see the little air scoop just in front of the intake
if i get a 250$ intake vs a more expensive one does the supercharger wine sound better or worst in different intakes
I've been thinking of buying a 2019 with low miles (<20k), but been nervous of the maintenance costs. Curious to know your take on the 2019's. Also, you mention selling your S4. I usually switch cars every 3 years or so. Do you know the depreciation rate or resale value on S4's?
The used car market is really good right now for those selling but buyers will pay more, not sure how long this will last though. I should be able to do pretty well when it comes time to sell. I just recently did some other maintenance costing me about 2k but it’s just normal stuff that needs to be done, breaks, spark plugs all that fun stuff. They’re not cheap cars by any means but keep up on the maintenance and they’ll last. That’s how I look at it.
How many mpg u get in this like regular day vs I don’t give a fuk but I want to have fun day?
On a regular basis driving normal I get about 250-300 miles per tank but driving like FnF much less, especially with the tune it’ll suck up more fuel the more fun you’re having
@@Dscotty appreciate it I plan on buying one maybe next year jus trna get my bag right 💪🏼
@@S4_boy it’s a great car and so much fun to drive so I definitely recommend it if you’re gonna be in the market for one! Lemme know if you got any questions about it and Goodluck!
@@Dscotty add me on Instagram if I have any questions I’ll lyk
__habib_
What year do you advise me to get ? And what’s the best mileage range to buy
I’d say to try an get an B8.5 which is 2013-2016. Audi made a few changes from the B8 model with some issues that were happening in those years. Lower miles the better but definitely try to get paperwork on maintenance done such as DSG flush ( should be done around 50k miles), spark plugs around 60k miles, oil changes (Audi says every 10k but do mine every 5-6k). It’s important to know how well the car was maintained and can help with reducing future problems.
@@Dscotty doesn’t the 2013 still have the mechatronic problems , I see some people trans still failing on the 13-14 I think some 14s
@@jketphanh22 it does as well as 2016 same year as my car. I’m not entirely sure what the main cause is for the failure but I’ve seen in it all the B8 years as well as timing chains going bad too, seem to be common but is easy to notice. Make sure you test drive the vehicle, listen to it closely while idle and changing gears such as park, drive, Reverse and having someone who is knowledgeable about them helps too if they can come along with you.
@@Dscotty 2016 also has dsg issues ?
@@jketphanh22 I’ve heard people having issues before but not a common fault. Most common thing I’ve seen is timing chain going bad

So you can mix like APR and IE intake or just mix parts and it won’t screw with anything?
You can mix for stage 1 but I think if you go stage 2 or 2+ then you might have to go to a specific setup with that brand like APR for example. Stage 1 though you’re fine it doesn’t matter if you mix an match
