The Gti & the Millennium are still excellent guns. I've used them with the trans tech 110 cap, the 100 cap & the 2000 cap. The 110 cap is the best for clear if you run clear through it.
Definitely have to do this with my Pro lite as worse then yours he used it for primer and didn’t clean it there’s a ton of build him gotta take it apart like this so just don’t take off the bottom part next to where you hook up your hose
Got the exact same gun use it for base coat never lets me down just clean it well and it loves me back retiring in July so probably just keep it as a souvenir along with the other guns
Thanks for the explanation on how the gun should be used. I have the GTI Pro with the 1.4 tip. I have turned up the pressure but never thought to wind in the volume that much.👍
We don’t use a gun clean machine anymore as the literage puts us over the allowable amount of solvents held on premise bla bla health and safety blah blah. So we blow through gun wash and spray the external of our guns with naked gun aerosols.works really effectively but I know a few shops that use aerosol brake clean and swear by it as it’s cheaper. I also spay a wee bit of isopropyl before I start my jobs. Good memories with those old gti’s, a good reliable gun producing a great finish…20 odd years ago.still got it somewhere. Shot Gunny.
Fantastic results with a great old classic gun, just goes to show that even the old guns with their dated tech can still put out an amazing finish, would love to see a head to head review of the GTI and the GTI ProLite Gunny so hope you do it mate 🤞👍 John UK.
My dad has 2 GTI millenniums and one of them doesnt seem to spray as well anymore. Thinking maybe it could have a bad seal or something. Is there a rebuild kit you would recommend?
I just did a full tear down of my guns today, first time having time in a while. They look so shiny nice. Wish I picked up more old school guns when I had the chance. Thanks for the awesome videos man.
Hi nice video. I have also an old devilbiss . I think its the gfg-513 or 517 with FF needle and nozzle thats 1.4 . And have a 30 cap and a 704 .. i also have the jga-502 the parts fits in the gfg513/517
Still using my GTi with a 1.3 setup for base. Still spraying great and such an easy gun to clean, never needs much and takes the abuse without complaints!
@gunman Used the devilbiss suction gun, the model before the gti came out when i was painting 20 years ago. Gravity fed guns wernt seen much then. The gun done the work. Fantastic guns then, and would still hold its own now, as shown .😎
Absolutely. The link is in the description of the video. They shouldn't be too expensive. But the parts are all broken down with part numbers and a diagram.
@@chrissoborderhydrographics sorry man, I just realised you said SGK not GTi. The link in the description is for GTi. Email Chris at info@spraygunsdirect.co.uk and he may be able to help you
Saving the classics Gunny... Was wondering if you could help me out a bit with a similar job. I have been restoring cars my whole life but usually left painting to the professionals and just done small bits here and there. The last couple years I have started doing more of my own and have done a couple full paint jobs with pretty good results. I have a GPI with 1.4 and 1.8 I use for base and primer and a GTI Pro Lite with 1.3/T110 for clear. I was recently given and old GTI Pro (nice half black anodised with Grim Reaper) by an old spray painter I know, he retired some years ago and was geting rid of alot of his old gear. He cant remeber when he used it last, thing had a pretty thick layer of dust on it, it has been dropped at some stage and the tip is damaged. I was going to get a new 1.4 tip and needle, it already has a TE20 cap, do you think this setup would be ok spraying solvent basecoat? I also thought of maybe 1.3 tip and getting a TE10 but then thats an added cost of a new cap. What would you reccomend for someone of limited experience?
I had bought Gunny's Steampunk some years back but for almost a year I never used it. I sold it on ebay in the U.S. and it actually went to another viewer so at least it stayed in the Gunny family lol. It was a beauty
A comparison between the GTI and ProLite would have really helped me. But since the video didn't came, I hope you can answers my question here. I can get a new 1.4 T110 kit for my GTI for about 150 euros. Or a barely used ProLite 1.3 Te10 or 20 for about 200euros. Another 150euro and I have a T110 for it. I want to spray the car metallic/low gloss. So I figured I want the finish as flat as possible. So the big question is how much better is the ProLite? Or are the results basically the same when both guns would have a new T110 cap on them?
Hay brother miss ya 😂 yea we used that clear at tafe, taking my 1.3 gti pro in that clear so thick my first coat was looking rubbish, applying like the standox hydrid we use. Fist thing i thort was 1.4mm was want it wanted. But they use sata at tafe and their cannons. As that old girl you got looks like a killa beast 👊
I thought about it but I like my work life balance, I don't need the stress. I got as far as putting a $20k deposit down in a shop, then pulled out. I am sure I .ade the right decision.

Good stuff. The old GTI's work great for smashing the paint on large jobs. Very handy for getting coach/bus resprays done.
I have a older gti that leaks a little air out the cap when trigger isn’t pulled any ideas on now to fix
Probably just needs a new seal on the trigger air valve.
Picked up a Bellaria at cashies that was caked in clear coat and metal flakes. Took me forever to clean it.
Definitely have to do this with my Pro lite as worse then yours he used it for primer and didn’t clean it there’s a ton of build him gotta take it apart like this so just don’t take off the bottom part next to where you hook up your hose

Devilbiss can not be beat when it comes to price and quality 1.4 was always the go to gun back in the day cheers Gunny.
What is the paint thickness guage you are using in your other video's on your Red Corolla? When buffing?
Had a primer gun with 2 part primer left in it overnight! Even letting it soak for days it never sprayed the same.

I just bought a rebuilt GTI it looks barely used too... I want to pick up some new fluid nozzles for it.. wish me luck

Glenn from Iwata put me into citrustrip spray for fun cleaning. Works great.
Gti's are really good looking guns and they spray so well, Even if they are getting old now they get the job done to a high standard
I just had a quick look at the price of the 110 aircap. OMG !
