Here, I will show you the form to fill in when applying online for British Citizenship, as a spouse of a British Citizen.
This is the second video of my mini-series for my own application this year 2020.
Disclaimer: Please note that I am not an Immigration Adviser or Lawyer. This is just to show you what I have done during my recent British Citizenship application. Your circumstances might be different to mine. Hopefully, this video will give you an idea of how the form looks like and of what information and documents you need to prepare when filling in the form.

What is biometrics? I did read it somewhere on the gov website but I'm not sure of the meaning and how it works

Is it possible to move to "Documents" and start uploading all the documents needed while waiting to take the English test and, once I've passed the test, go back to "Application" to edit and add the details of the test?
Or once that you move to "Documents" you can't go back to edit the info you entered in your application?
The paper version of the citizenship application form, has an extra page (page 23) where you can write "further information".
Does the "online" version have this extra page too?
If no, is there a way to add a "Cover Letter" to the online application?

Can I please ask so if I don't have biometrics yet while filling my application so I press no in the question of whether I have biometrics (as I have no details to provide), how can I change my application following payment that my biometrics appointment will be booked? I read that the application cannot be changed after you submit it.

Great video thanks. I'm helping my dad do this. It asks at the document stage if I've included the referee declaration. There's no mention of this. He's added all their details in the online form. Any ideas?

Just one question on the form it ask for previous applications then to fill out first line ask it’s starts with “ name in which you made the application ?” Is that the visa application name or applicant name or both ? I would be grateful if you can recall how you answered in this ?

Once the online application is complete and payment made. How long do you have to upload documents? As it can take time to gather some documents?

Hello! The referees’ personal details are being asked only on online form. The referee declaration (paper form) does not ask for their personal details, only their full name, signature and date signed. I hope this helps.
Hi, thank you for all the info! In you other video you've mentioned that One should print out application pdf to send with referee form to the referee. When can you do that, before or after submitting your application?
Hello. You can do it after submitting your application. There should be an option to download your completed application form as PDF. The idea is your referee should see all the information you’ve put in your application form and they should be able to confirm that those information are genuine.
@@TheWooloffs thank you. I thought you could only submit the application if you had the referees forms. Where does it say that I need to send them the whole application though? Cause from what I read so far they should only be confirming that this photo is of a person called XYZ born on certain day and that's it. Cause how can my friends confirm what my parents names are, or their birthplaces or birthdays? That kind of doesn't make sense to me. They know me but also they don't know my very personal info. My fiance doesn't know where my parents were born exactly So how is a referee supposed to confirm that.
Hello. What I meant with ‘after you’ve submitted your application’ was when you finished filling up your online application. A pdf copy of your completed form will be downloadable. It’s not required for the referees to see your application but when they sign the referee declaration form later on, they would declare that the information you’ve put in your application form are genuine (to the best of their knowledge). So from my perspective it would be wise to show them the completed form. It’s totally up to you. Please check my other two videos about referee declaration form. This explains the responsibilities of the referees (not just to counter sign your photo).

I only have my last ilr application, and about the checklist documents do they ask about proof of abscence if my absence still legal? thank you for your reply, I have one more question hope you dont mind to answer. in online application there is a question which is Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time. My husband and 2 children are all British citizens, should I answer yes or no to this question because they are already British and do not need to apply.

Yes you are allowed to travel abroad while waiting. But be sure to be back for your citizenship ceremony.
When they ask about previous visa application I was on 10 year route bfor 5 year spouse visa route n I was on study visa do I have to mention all that visa which I even don't remember references or I just can give 2 previous reference being on 5 year on spouse visa ?

And i am appling for naturalisation can i add my son registration as British citizen application by clicking additional applicant in my online application or do i need to fill separate online MN1 form for him? Hi, can you please tell me when is going to be an actual application submission date? I am currently working on an application just so I can prepare all the information required, but can only apply in September because of 5 years back presence date requirement. I just click save and return later, but the status of the application says "Complete", I am currently on a Documents checklist step.

Is applying for citizenship if your spouse is a british with ILR would be more difficult rather than applying using just ILR?
Very informative video. Is it advised to submit application through a solicitor?
If you would like to have a peace of mind, you may use a solicitor. I didn’t because my application was straight forward.
Hi, thank you for your guidance, i wanted to ask a more in-depth question, "Have you been granted indefinite leave to enter, or remain, in the UK?" is this question asking about the date I entered the UK (stamp on passport) or the day I was issued the indefinite leave to remain card after 5 years of being here, please? I have applied online, send in the post required docs 3 days ago and even though it shows on royal mail tracking that it has been received by them but it still doest show in the status online about receipt of docs. Wonder how long would that take to update love? Cheers
Hi I made an application for naturalisation. I’ve submitted my form and booked an appointment for biometric. But I realised that I made a mistake about my referee. ( one referee should have a profession)
I’ve cancelled my biometric appointment. Now should I cancel the application form as well and apply from beginning or find another referee and write a letter which describes the situation and scan it? Thank you 🙏

Can I apply for citizenship a little early? I got the ILR on 20 July 2020. That is, after 18 days, I will complete 12 months. Can I apply today?
No, you can't apply earlier. Even for one day. I called the home office last week asking the same question.

In the referee section @9:10 it says the referee must hold a British passport but in some other places, including your referee video. I see the referee can be from any nationality which is it?
Hello. You need two referees. One is British citizen and the other could be any nationality.

I uploaded my birth certificate to show my parents’ details as well as my identity. Yes I suggest to put the cover letter under “Other”. All the best on your application.

does the referee declaration have to be done on paper? or can we do it online? also do they want the paper copies of my english degree etc?
The final page asking for "Other information" accepts only 500 characters. Not enough for me.

Hi and thank you for your videos, Just a quick question , My wife came into the UK on 2 visitors Visa's and also when she first applied for a visitors visa , It was refused , She also came into the UK on a married Visa and then we got the indefinite leave to remain. Regards the Refusal, We still have the letter from 2009 and i guess we just give the reference number for that, Regards reference numbers on the visitors visa's, We don't have any paperwork showing a reference number , So would i be correct in using a number on the visa in the passport and if so, Which is the correct number since the visa has a couple numbers , One beginning with UK12345678 and regards date of application, We have no idea of the dates, only the date that the visa was issued . Can you clarify the 2 concerns . Thank you for your help

Hello Sean. I applied for my ILR back in 2018. That time I used a premium appointment so I got my ILR on the same day.

Will my mother's expired passport be returned to me if I'm mailing my required documents? My application states that copies are okay to send except for passports, they must be original. I'm applying for dual citizenship. TIA

Hello. You might want to check if it’s expired. I think it is only valid for 2 years.
I didn’t provide payslips or bank statements for naturalisation application. They don’t accept bank statements or bills as proof of living in the Uk during the required period (3 or 5 years).
At 7:54 when it says do u have a degree which was taught in english are they asking for life in the uk test or a degree for other education. Also, what if u dont have a degree for other education. Whats gonna hapeen then. Can u still apply

Hello. I did not have the consent form either on my citizenship application. I guess if they need to verify something about your application, they will contact you through the contact information that you have provided.
