In my previous vlogs, I shared with you my experience on how to apply for British citizenship. From those videos, I realised that there were some important questions that need to be answered and shared to fellow applicants. Here, I answered some of the most frequently asked questions about British citizenship application, specifically about documents required and documents submission process in UKVCAS website.
I have split my videos by topic. This is the second of the videos that I will be making . Next videos to follow will be about Referee Declaration Form and Biometric Appointment; and other relevant FAQs. Watch out for those videos.

Hello, thanks for the informative video. A quick question, can you provide guidance on the consent form. You as the applicant needs to fill out Part 1 but did you get your husband to fill out Part 2 and Part 3?

Hello. I didn’t include a cover letter on my citizenship application. If you feel you wanted to say some explanation or clarifications on your application, I think it’s ok to include a cover letter, but I think it’s not required if your application is straight forward application.

Your videos are very helpful. May I ask.... Would it be suitable to prove my residency for the UK naturalization process with just a HMRC letter or subject access request letter from HMRC which states my employment, tax contributions etc during my time in UK?
I know people sometimes send a pile of documents when it comes to their residency, but as I know, the HMRC letter is just one or two pages. Would this be enough?

Hi I was wondering that you didnt mention the sign the verification checks consent form. Did you have this when you had to apply or is this something new?
Question regarding the Life In the Uk letter, as I have done the test recently and they only provide you with a pass/fail result in the website along with the code (and not a physical letter), what should I upload as a proof that I passed the test?? A printout of the result section of the website?
Do you know about the “Download and sign the verification checks consent form” mandatory action? I could swear I didn’t see this when I was going through the checklist before my biometric appointment but months later, I login to check and it’s there. What do I do?

Hello, as of now, it seems that consent form was not required as part of my citizenship application process, is that ok? The only mandatory documents they required were the references and their signatures (alongside the checklist they gave with passport, degree certificate etc) but no consent forms. I'm not applying on behalf of anyone but myself and also during the online application process, I was asked to declare that I am the applicant (which I checked the box for, obviously). I wonder if they've changed or I'm missing something hmm
Hi. Should I submit my documents before an appointment if I bought an additional service them to check my documents?
I filled in the application for British citizenship online and I was expecting there to be a point where I would be able to upload all the supporting documents. But there wasn't. There is no "further actions" on my application. Instead I was given a document checklist with an address on, so that I can post the documents. Seeing as I live overseas, that seems a bit silly, but I cannot for the life of me find any information about where I can send scanned copies of my documents. Do you know why that is? :)

Hi Chalin I would like to thank you for your important information on Wednesday 04th of August I had my citizenship Ceremony and on Thursday 05th I sent my documents from Royal Mail registered I track my documents and said that they have delivered my documents on Friday 06th but the passport office didn’t send any email to confirm that they received the documents should I wait or what I should do it ? Hello. Yes this happened to me. I thought there was something wrong. Just wait for another day or two and they will update the status. It might be that they haven’t logged that they have received. your documents but what’s important is that you know that it was delivered to the passport office.

Hi, may I ask if they have taken away your original passport copy at some point? I have uploaded but not submitted my supporting documents and I have booked for the Biomectric center this week; I am traveling in a month, so a bit worried about them taking away my passport.
Hello. They won’t take any of your original documents so you may still travel.

I applied for my naturalisation, sa application ko po nilagay ko na ang married name ko, however, hindi ko pa na update ang philippine passport at brp card ko, nasa maiden name ko pa! 🤦🏻♀️ nawala sa loob ko. Hello ! These videos are very helpful. Can you please confirm if we can download the documents in PDF version? Can we use digital photo from Snappy Snaps photo shop as last time home office didn’t accept my digital photos for my ILR application and ask to send the new one. Thanks for your help

Hello. I only used my passport. Some people also submitted their P60 during the time they are living in the Uk, and employer’s letter indicating your presence in the Uk to give more evidence.

The Referees confirm your identity and also you can use you're friends or a work colleague as your referees

Hello. If you’ve got ILR, you can apply for British citizen after 12 months. You need to show proof of living for 5 years in the UK. On your online application, towards the end, it will show you what documents you need to submit to meet this requirement.

@@adiivlogs7103 oh, I misunderstood your question. I used only my passport as a proof of living here for 3 years. Some people submitted their P60, HMRC letter stating the tax you’ve paid, employer letter - all if you work here in the uk. Bank statements and utility bills are not considered as proof of living in the uk.

1. Your ILR or permanent residency card
2. I’m not sure. I haven’t tried this one. But it should be easy to create another account if you have to.
3. If you are a spouse of a British citizen, yes you can apply already. If not, you need to wait for 12 months of having ILR before you can apply for British citizenship.

How long naturalisation process takes?
Hello. Mine took 7months. Others took more than that but also some quicker than that (I know someone who got it in 4 months). The Gov website says it could take up to 6 months. It really varies.
