How to complete a referee declaration form?
Here, I showed the detailed requirements before choosing your two referees for your British / UK citizenship application. I also showed how to complete and scan the referee declaration form.
Disclaimer: I am not an Immigration Lawyer or Adviser. I am only showing here my personal experience and hopefully help somehow.

Your video is very helpful. I have one question though. How do i download the application (in order to send it to the referee) ? Do I have to go all the way to the payment tab ( on the online application) ?
Hello. Yes it can be downloaded for printing all the way after the payment etc. But a website also published a copy here. visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/documents/1st_Referee_Declaration_MN1.pdf
In case this is not the most updated one, I would suggest to download the one that the online application asks you to download in the end of application. I hope this helps.
For children must reefer be teachers health visitor or etg? Because may be teachers or doctors don't accept giving them information. Thank for video
There is an other option were online application form need to be fill how referree will sign online one , regardless the other form

So for this application is for the referees only. Nothing for applicants to write on it. I am right?
Thanks for your videos, just one remark: I don't think is for the referee to write on the back of the photo and glue it to the paper: the applicant can do and send already glued, while the referees only have to sign off the fact that they recognize the applicant on the glued photo (which they do with their signature at the bottom of the second page), together with more (they have been knowing the applicant for at least 3 years, etcetera). In another video, somebody explained that the info on the back of the photo is for cases when the photo unglues and the officers may need to connect to a specific form.... a remnant of old procedures or something... I believe knowing this makes things easier for everybody, including having to explain to the referee what they have to do.

I had the same thing in mind. My referee lives far away from me and had to send her the pdf file to print and sign to save time. I thought I can just glue my photo after she’s signed it.
She forgot to write my name where it says applicant name, can I just write my name in the form myself? I think the most important part is that they signed the back of the form

Hi. I printed two copies of referee form - one for each referee. I did the same process for both referee forms.
Is it necessary to attach a physical picture? Or would it be ok to add the photo digitally and then just print that off for the referee to deal with? I don't really understand why they want a physical picture glued to the application when it's being submitted digitally anyway, right?

@@matteo.grossi Unfortunately I don't have an answer to this - my partner has remained with settled status for now as we moved abroad for a year and broke the continuous period in the UK necessary for citizenship. We'll try again in the future, so do let me know if you find out the answer tp this before me

Hello. If you’ve already uploaded and submitted it online, I think it should not be a problem if you bring the printed copy to your biometric appointment. Unless the scanned copy is not clear and the staff in the biometric appointment wants to scan it again. In my case, they did not look at my original documents because I’ve already uploaded and submitted my documents.

Thanks for the helpful video! The website says 'You must download a copy of the referee declaration form. You must have both copies signed by both of your referees and include them when you provide your documents. This document will only be available to download until 28 May 2022.' Does that mean the two referees sign the same document ? Or one document per referee?

Hello. Thank you very much for your explanation, I am currently trying to fill out all my documents before my biometric appointment. I don't know if you could help me out on this, but I have a question regarding the Life in the UK Test. I marked on my application that I did not do this test, is it mandatory to have it done? I have an English-taught University degree and GCSE in the English language, would this be enough? Thanks :)
Hello. Passing Life in the UK test is required for applications for British citizenship or ILR UNLESS you are under 18. The university degree certificate is to show proof of knowledge of English language, not as an alternative for life in the Uk test. I hope this helps.

Life in the UK test is different from the proof of English requirement, you need to take life in the uk test - it is mainly about everything British - their history etc
Iam applying for my daughter’s also. So as referees i have asked their head teacher . Do they have to give their address And passport details ?
For child , does the referee need to know the child for 3 years or it can be lesser as the child joined the school after moving only have 2 years 9 months

Yes the applicant’s photo. The referees job is to confirm that it’s the applicant who is in the photo.

Hello. For the photo, you can write your name and date of birth at the back. For the referee form, you can print and post it to them so they can sign. I don’t think electronic signature is allowed on the referee forms.

@Adila Ahmed Gumaa does she have a British passport? It could be that or the naturalisation certificate number. My husband is British from birth so I only provided his passport number as proof that he is a British citizen.

hello. At the back of your photo the referee should write your name and your date of birth. I hope this answers your question.

Referee and identify
The name at the back of the picture is just incase the picture unglue from the paper then it can be identify as it yours. So if it uploaded then it ok .... Don't need to worry

Silly question maybe but my 3.5x4.5 passport photo does not fit into the square. I'm assuming it doesn't have to?
As long as it’s the standard passport photo size, which you’ve got, it should be ok.

Sorry for silly question- should the name and date of applicant on the back of photo be written by applicant him/herself or it should be done by the referee? And what is the point of writing smth on the back if it will be then glued and the whole document will be submitted as a scanned copy?

Hi there, i ve got a silly question, my referee filled the his name sign and date on the back page but he forgot to fill my name (name of applicant) in the front page, would there be a problem i fill it by myself or does he need to do it himself and repost it back to me again? Please help
