    Thank you for the video. After you submitted all the docs online, do you actually need to supply the physically passports and the documents too? If yes after how long, did they ask to submit ? and how long do they keep them? If I completed my masters here, I rekon I do not need to provide English proficiency test?

However I have no employment history since October 2018 when I started studying full time at Uni. Prior to this,I have worked since 2015 when I received my initial 5yrs leave to Remain. Does my education cover the years of unemployment from 2018 till now or is compulsory that I should be working before applying? • @TheNimbleNomad
      @TheNimbleNomad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi - I don’t have a full view of your circumstances, if you have an ILR, I think you are already half way to citizenship.
      My recommendation would be to get a professional opinion and discuss your case before applying. I know immigration lawyers are a horrible bunch but if you talk through your case you may get a view on whether you should apply and spend the money.
      Better to spend a little money up front and understand what are the chances and then go all in. That would be my view, of course the decision is ultimately yours.

Overstayed until 2014 when home office tried to deport me but I claimed asylum which was successfull in court & then got ILR in 2019. Most lawyers have told me not to apply before 2024 as more likely application will be refused due to overstay period.

    • @TheNimbleNomad
      @TheNimbleNomad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think if you have been given guidance to wait then I suggest waiting. You have an ILR you have all the luxuries of a British citizen minus the right to vote (depends on your nationality)
      There is no point rushing an application if the rules are convoluted, maybe things will become more straightforward now that the UK has left the EU. As long as you have a passport (of any country) you should be ok. I assume you have your home country passport
