Horray For The Riff Raff and Alynda Segarra is one of my favorites in the last 5 years of newer music for me.. I first saw her on " Whats In My Bag" from Ameoba Records on TH-cam ! 🎵

Thanks for watching Jack. I think you'd like Hurray For The Riff Raff.

Hi Mike, I was listening to Yard Act while you were talking about Yard Art. My copy came from……Jumbo, I got the black and white version of the cover. I’m liking it a lot. It pulled me in a first listen which is always a good sign and it’s getting better on each listen. I have the first two Hurrah for the Riff Raff albums but haven’t listened to the latest. It sounds like I need to get back on the horse. More Shakespeare please! Andy

Hi Andy, I'm glad you're liking the new Yard Act. I can't promise any more Shakespeare. I did Macbeth at school many many years ago and could still just about remember it. Cheers Mike

    Nice selection
Mike, not heard any of those before. Keep meaning to give The Yard Act album a listen. Other than the singles from the first album, they’ve kind of passed me by, but I’ve liked what I’ve heard. Lovely bit of Shakespeare by the way!

The two Yard Act albums are quite different from each other. Both are definitely worth a listen. Cheers...Mike

Iceland had produced a lot of interesting and very original music. Shows what a lot of cold weather can do to you musically I think Mike

Hi Steve, Icelandic music has always interested me, going right back to the Sugarcubes in the 80s. Cheers Mike

Great pile of albums Mike. I really like the sound of that Icelandic band. Grea? Nothing bought at the Leeds fair?

Hi Mike, I bought a few interesting things at the record fair. I'll put a video up about it shortly.

Hi Mike, excellent video as usual! Thanks for mention and I’m glad we are as one with Laetitia’s latest. As you say a lovely album, very easy to listen to, but hasn’t quite got the strength of material that the Modern Cosmology album + 10” had. I could kick myself, my local record store had a signed copy of that Nadine Shah album and I didn’t pull the trigger. After your description I realise now that I made a mistake. They are both great albums but which of the Yard Acts do you think is best? Great package with the new one and brilliant you got signatures. Mike

Hi Mike, the latest Nadine Shah is her best yet in my opinion. By the way have you received the package I sent you. Cheers Mike

Hi Mike. Hurray For The Riff Raff was recommended to me by TH-cam the other. I assumed it was a vinyl community channel! Based on your description, it sounds interesting. I'll definitely be exploring further ... You were my introduction to Yard Act's first album. At the moment I'm not feeling as excited about the follow up. I'll probably finish up getting it on CD at some point. David Thewlis was a real coup in the '100% Endurance' video (what a song!!); I'm glad they've kept up that relationship with him.

Hi Carl. I really like the new Yard Act even though it's quite different from the first. Hurray for the Riff Raff are a really interesting band. Cheers Mike

@@mikevinylspiral I always say I like bands that don't repeat themselves and you can see them growing as artists; so I wouldn't criticise Yard Act. I'll keep listening to tracks on TH-cam for awhile longer ... I've not listened to Hurray For The Riff Raff yet, but I'll be checking her out. She got a very positive half-page album review in last month's Mojo.

Gorgeous looking record that Latitia one. Be curious to hear her own her solement.
Great you got a signed copy. Too bad you didn’t see them or Nish.
I’d love something from Nouvelle Vague. Held records by then in my hands many times and put them back… 🙄
Speaking of Icelandic, nah… never mind 😊
Gróa was one of the Volver who spun the lifethreads underneath the World Tree, Ygdrasil.

Hi Morten, Thanks for explaining how Gróa fits into Norse mythology, I had meant to look her up. You really should get some Nouvelle Vague into your collection. Thanks for watching.

@@mikevinylspiral You’re welcome. icelanders are after all Norwegians who skipped dodge (they didn’t want to live under the rule of Norways first unified king). Only proper Nordic country I haven’t been to. But I went to school in Denmark with the Sigur Ros bassplayer.
I love soothing music, so why haven’t I?

I love Stereolab Mike, so I'd be interested to hear what Laticia does on her own. Jen recently did a similar album but she was rediscovering her Maori roots. I'm really looking forward to my pre-ordered Yard Act? I'm glad to hear they're pushing the parameters of their sound a bit. Groa sound really interesting. Nice pick ups Mike. Cheers...Ben

Hi Ben, I bought that Jen Cloher album after you showed one of her others. The new Yard Act is a real step forward for them. If you want to explore Laetitia's non Stereolab work both I and the vinyl constabulary would recommend Modern Cosmology, "What will you grow now" Cheers...Mike

@@mikevinylspiral Well now that the constabulary is involved I am obliged to pull my head & track that record down.
