I know, it would've been better if Jimmy wasn't even there.
i mean now that you say it, i do kind of agree. i just think he likes to have fun and engage with his guest.
He can’t help but throw something in, even when a guest is telling a story, he always just makes a noise followed by the little fake sounding laugh 😂

@@foul-mouthfarrah1158 there's a difference with "interrupting", "replying", and "waiting for the other person to stop talking". Jimmy doesn't know the differences. He's like a parrot inside of a jolly chimp and instead using cymbals, he just claps for no reason.
This, especially with Jimmy’s laughter, gives major “3 am drunk and tired at some guys party in the basement and you’re one of the 7 people still awake.” Vibes.

Yeah nothing's more niche than punk 😒
I was about to claim the exact opposite. I was excited to see this video but he missed dozens of famous styles, particularly in the 70s and 80s. Obviously, he was to think about time, but even the styles he played weren't great representations of the actual styles.
Eek, I thought his drummer special was positively awful.

I would buy a whole album of Fred Armisen doing punk throughout the decades. Definitely could see Goldfinger and Rancid among others in his themes.
This doesn't have anything to do with anything, really, but I first found out about Rancid from their song that was on the "Beavis and Butt-head Do America" soundtrack. I think it was called "I wanna riot!" or something like that, lol.
Damn I hated rancid so much when they started since I was an operation ivy fan. They were playing with one of my favorite bands of that time, avail, so I went and they weren’t bad. I ran into them while they were getting stuff out of their van (yes van, they were still very small back then) and told them I caught their show a few weeks ago with avail, they apologized for show shitty they sounded during the show and gave me a tape and shirt, I thought that was pretty cool of them. Rancid, let’s go, and some of out come the wolves were good but they started to really go downhill after that unfortunately.

FIST FIGHT! FIST FIGHT!
Does Jimmy ever actually do anything himself or does he just repeat what the funnier guest says over & over
he’s not, that’s part of Fred’s shtick. They try and talk at the same time, they did it the whole interview, especially with the punk music bit. Go back years and they do the same thing every time, even on other shows he does it.
