The cure mega brutal is the one difficulty that actively made me wish I can execute anyone not following the quarantine cause the non compliance might as well be maxed out for me half the time
This feels like watching a struggle between two different gods. One attempting to end humanity, another, somewhat weaker one trying to save it, and needing to get people to do things they do not understand from his team of mfing worshippers or something Idk I ran out of cool analogies for his science team
I did it first try and got more points, but I think I just played it more safely. Just by locking down all the countries and buying all compliance reducing traits, I was able to easily contain it. Not too hard but was tough
I beat it 30 minutes after release and oh boy... It is tough. I did it easily via bug abuse but if I wanted to do it normally I would probably fail. I restarted the game and immediately saved until I got a save where it started in Canada. Then I went there and locked the whole continent down. I did not disable airports immediately. Instead, when I saw a plane leaving I save and reloaded and the planes and boats just disappeared. It's a common bug and devs are aware of it, probably working on fixing it. Anyway, it's a great help in the cure mode, because you can easily lock the disease in one continent. It is a pain in the ass when playing main game though...

I remember doing this one Mega Brutal blind after dealing with the Mega Brutal Bioweapon in South America strat and lets say that the Frozen Virus in Peru(South America) can be done the exact same way. Arguably easier to reset compared to Bioweapon since it always starts in a cold country, which cuts down the number of countries it starts out

At night, it's consistently between 58 to 68F (14C to 20C) all year round... and that's in the lower altitudes. Up in the mountains, it gets much colder. This is because of the influence of the cold Humboldt current along Peru's coast.

Kind of, yes. In the main game, it's still a scenario and said scenario still uses the standard virus model. In cure mode, it's considered it's own seperate pathogen type from the standard virus.
I just thought about this, brutal/mega brutal in cure mode would be easy in normal disease mode, and it's normal for both when normal is selected, and vise versa
I wish that when non-compliance happens, you can just let the country get overwhelmed by the disease, and once everybody dies, you could tell them "I told ya so :)"

@@jeff9089 well, the margin for error of FV is still larger than that of BW since you basically have to pray for it to start in one of the three southwest most countries just to have a chance and panic loss is much more likely to happen. Maybe I’m biased because I have terrible luck with my censorship lasting for half a month at most but at least FV can still be contained after getting out of the origin country with some smart quarantines. FV certainly is still hard, just not as hard as the BW in my opinion.
@@jeff9089 Here is the thing. If it spawns in any of those you listed, it's easier to catch early and thus contain. The only time to restart would be if you got it in Russia or Peru, cuz Russia has too much land border access, and Peru you likely won't discover right away. Bio-Weapon is straight up a BS RNG nightmare

Besides, if you spot the bw in a convenient country, you can immediatly clode everything down. With the FV you can only close the airports for now and generally are really struggling with Points. And also the FV has such an enourmes advantage in cold climates it really fucked me over once. Kinda had it under control for now but i couldnt save finnland, no matter what i did the numbers kept rising and i lost the game. I had 2 levels of contact tracing and testing capacity, infection controll, continental lockdown and even a targetted lockdown on it and i it still fucked me up.

I found a glitch on my third run which lets you shutdown things other than the airports before it's analyzed. Just switch to speed 1 and basically pause every millisecond and keep doing that until you've detected the disease. When you go to quarantine the continent, you'll see that you can also shutdown ports and land borders, and you'll be able to Force Lockdown even before it's analyzed.
It is a hard one. The upgrade mechanic to unlock more ways to slow it is what I hate on mobile. My god I mean I feel it's up there with Bio-Weapon, Prion and Nano-Virus
ended up going for Canada cheese but it started in Peru. didn't escape before I got DNA analysis 1 so if you get everything locked down your authority might tank, but if you rush for national stimulus I'm sure you can beat any disease if it starts in South America because of how easy it is to keep there. The Netherlands is counted as Germany and as someone who lives here, I can say that, sure, it's not a "warm" country like Spain or Saudi Arabia or Australia, but our climate is definitely also not cold. We have a sea climate. Which means four seasons with decently warm summers and decently cold winters, but nothing actually extreme (usually)
