As a Mexican I am very happy with this video. I know the lady said “this is your home now” all I can say is that she 100% meant that. This is why in a lot of Mexican homes we still live with grandparents and parents. I know a lot of cultures make fun of us because there’s three families in one home but truth is that it is just part of our culture. We live, we love, we laugh, we cry, and we take care of each other. Shout out to that beautiful family in Oaxaca for inviting these beautiful “gringos” into their gorgeous home.
That’s beautiful Kevin. Like I wish we as humans would adapt more of that love of family and friends. Life would just be so different and wholesome. ❤. Thanks for sharing your perspective

I LOVE Mexico. Not as a tourist - though it is certainly nice to visit - but as an appreciation of the beautiful culture, music, fashion, food, and family. It is so much more inclusive, loving and vibrant than other places, and I can see that it all stems from the strong family as the core of the culture.

At first I thought "This is so embarrassing, they don't even know Spanish and they are trying to enter strangers houses in Mexico" but at the end I had such a warm, fuzzy feeling and a huge smile on my face.

have broken God’s commandments, we all have sinned in our lives so none of us
are good. ‘’For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is
guilty of breaking all of it.’’ (James 2:10).
Good News is that Jesus Christ lived a perfect, holy, sinless life, Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
He was buried and He was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.’’ (John 3:16)
We aren’t saved based on our good deeds/works, but only by the grace of God through faith.
''For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -
not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
He said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins
(past, present, future) to be forgiven if we repent and trust in Him.
''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15)
''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19)
Repentance is a turning from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8).
Biblically, a person who repents does not continue willfully in sin.
While sorrow from sin is not equivalent to repentance, it is certainly an element of scriptural repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10).
Do not play a hypocrite. ''God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.
If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.'' (1 John 1:5-6)
If you have repent and have genuine faith in Jesus Christ then you will receive the gift of Holy Spirit and be born-again spiritually.
(John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance
until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14)
You are born again with the Spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36)

If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will have new desires -
to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God.
You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace
revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son.

Agreed, I have a big portion of my family divided up amongst many cultures. Hispanic being the second most predominant. I am honestly surprised they didnt have dinner cooked and ready for the Canadians. You will never go hungry as a guest in a Hispanic home.

IT IS VERY NORMAL IN LATIN AMERICA
I’m an English speaker and I’ve been to Mexico. The people there are so patient and understanding with us, so long as you’re respectful at least. It’s crazy that they give us the amount of respect they do when if they speak their native tongue or have an accent in America, people will literally be racist right to their faces. I have immense respect for the people of Mexico. I respect them more than my own people, honestly.

One of the reasons im still connected to my Mexican culture is that we were raised extremely friendly. We were taught to always reach out and make friends regardless of any initial barriers. Just live in the moment

I love how the Hispanic cultures respect their elders. That Abuelita was certainly the matriarch of that familia and you can see she was deferred to even of the men. How wonderful the hospitality of the entire familia to engage the strangers...even down to the dog.

Reminds me of the time I lived across the street from a 15 person Mexican family and bucked up and decided to take my elementary Spanish and a guitar to one of their parties. Really heartwarming to see connections that bridge not only cultural but also language barriers.
I met this Mexican guy in the streets of Moscow. He invited me to visit him in Tijuana. I took up on the offer. They totally adopted me and I ended up living with his family for 8 months. I was 35. Sadly I had to leave Mexico cause of Covid

After moving to the US and meeting Mexican people I just can’t get over how truly beautiful they are as people. They are some of the most loving and kind people I have ever come across and don’t get me starting with the yummy food! Truly gem of a people.

I live in Mexico City. I married into a Mexican family and moved here six years ago. My mother in law es una Oaxaqueña. What a lovely family. Not only did they let you in their home, but they quite literally welcomed you with open arms and raise a glass to you.

The house and family look exactly out of the movie ENCANTO !! Just wow absolutely amazing video and amazing video. These are the videos that show us humanity still exists.
Beautiful video, and I agree it's heart warming to see the day-to-day connections and acts of humanity that this channel shows us through their videos. Even though the movie Encanto is set in Columbia, I see some similarities with Mexican culture. As a Mexican (American) myself, I can tell you that most Mexican homes are not decorated with piñatas and with papel piquado--that would be a stereotypical representation of Mexican households. But perhaps this one family is in the business of making piñatas?

I have had some similar experiences. A while back my kid needed friends and our neighbor needed someone to watch the kids while she worked. This video brings back a lot of good memories with the sense of humor with trying to figure out the language and learning to cook.
Also my accent in Spanish is a little similar to my friend's accent. Which is like how the grandma speaks in this video.

There's a saying in Mexico that goes " El Agua No Se Le Niega A Nadie" meaning we should never deny giving fresh water to anyone.

She is the most wonderful person ever, and often shares information about her culture with me-I’m trying to learn spanish to surprise her and talk to her, because she learned english all on her own, I want to show her I love her and appreciate her. @@melioavilez one dish I have never had since we moved back to the US. Green mole with pork. Also churros. Nobody in the US seems to be able to make them like they do in Mexico. Wonderful for breakfast. But more than anything else... Fresh made corn tortillas. I used to snack on them. They were so soft and flexible you could put a line of salt down the middle and roll them up almost as thin as a pencil. My mouth is watering! And I miss the guys that would have a load of vegetables and fruit they peeled and cut fancy and put limon and that red sauce that I can't remember the name of. Cucumber cut to look like a flower, jicama root, pineapple. I even liked the little sour apples with limon and red sauce on them.
Tired of the sad, not very fresh jicama root that is available in my grocery store I bought one and planted it.( If it grew and bloomed I wanted seeds to plant more and get it fresh out of the ground) Well, it's growing like mad and it is a lovely vine. Someone told me it has lavender or purple flowers. It is already ten feet high!
@@melioavilez I forgot the tamale man that came around in the evenings. They were fluffy and so flavorful, nothing at all the same as those canned tamales that are in the grocery store.

This is such a beautiful idea. In a world where it can be hard to trust a stranger to come into to your house, it is nice to see strangers from different languages and cultures connecting and sharing an authentic moment. Brilliant idea.

I love this. Mexican people look like us, Brazilians, with the way that they welcomed you in their house. In my state in Brazil, if you like the person that is visiting you, you take them straight to the kitchen where you offer them coffee, cake, pão de queijo, lunch, dinner, all of it. If it is a visitor that you're not too close, then you take them to the living room. I felt like Mexico is kinda the same. Sometimes I feel disconnected of the Latino culture by being Brazilian because we're not Spanish speakers but seeing videos like this, I realize that the culture is more than the language. We're Latinos too. I love México.
The only difference between Brazilians and the rest of Latin America is the language. Everything else is the same. Don’t let the language put a barrier.

I feel -from my experience- it takes a little while for Hispanics to understand Portuguese and for you guys it’s easier but we really connect from the joy we both cultures have to be with friends, music, food, passion for soccer and of course tequila or cachaça. Im half Mexican in America and i really do feel left out on a lot of the beautiful culture and familial bonds you find in Mexico. When my dads family came to America they mostly assimilated to the culture here :(

Family constant connection is undervalued in modern society. Our son is Mexican-American, I make sure he understands how necessary is to value and pursue our Mexican family values, for our own well being. The video made me cry too.
Girl, talk to your family in Mexico. My mom's whole family has been here since before the 20's so they're American to the max. My dad's family is from Mexico though. He was born in Mexico, raised here since 3 years old. I started speaking to my dad's family in Mexico a few years ago and we love hearing and learning from each other now. I also started trying to go back to my roots by celebrating dia de los muertos as a way to respect the deceased in my family. We have such a beautiful, beautiful, rich family oriented culture. Make the connection happen. Now I know that when I visit Mexico again, I have more than one place I can call home while I'm there, with people that share my blood ❤🇲🇽
Watching from Texas...this was so sweet and heartwarming. Even with the language barrier, the human connection was formed. Everyone looked happy and enjoying the night together.

I love this. I have been to Mexico and it was amazing. They were very kind and welcoming even if there was a language barrier. Even throughout Europe when I went this Summer. I have friends from quite a few different cultures and it has always been so cool to learn and make a connection with people from other places. Even though my roots are very much international, I have lived in the U.S. my entire life. So I have always loved trying different things as my friends have introduced me to them. This summer I met a family from Norway on a cruise. We had only known them a little from a few interactions and they were already so inviting. They invited us to stay with them and to call them to know the best places to go if I ever came to Norway. But yes I have always been impressed with how easy it can be to make a memorable time with others from somewhere different and how we can all come together.

Biggest lesson I learned: The way in which a house is decorated outside tells a lot from the people living inside. Any house that is decorated different from the rest and does not follow the social norm will most likely have people living inside who are more open to stepping outside of their comfort zone.
The only reason they are decorated that way there is because of the event/holiday going on though. And its in a really touristic part of town. 99% of Mexican homes look far from that.

I moved to Texas from the UK for over a year, the only people that show love and hospitality were the amazing mexican people, they opened their door on Thanksgiving.
We remained friends for many years after ,even when I came back to the UK.

I have never visited my family out there but I have gone to visit my fiancé grandparents in the valley. It's decent but we stay at their house the whole time. There's no need to go anywhere else

It's so so true! There is something about struggling to converse past a language barrier that requires a more intense level of concentration and commitment that we normally take for granted and don't apply in casual conversation. Also, when stripped down to the basics and the fluff is cutout, the communication can actually in a way be more clearer. When I started becoming fluent in my second language to where I began thinking in it, I actually found it refreshing that my thoughts were clearer and less cluttered. Everyone should try it, it's liberating, and opens up other worlds! :)

My family is of Mexican descent, and this was always my experience growing up. Different people coming over and eating with us all the time. I'm grateful for that, and I wish more kids in the "COVID generation" could experience that.
I’ve never thought about how personal a kitchen is until seeing this. I imagined being a person who had their door knocked on and all the thoughts that would run through my mind if I were asked that question. “Do I have the utensils they need? Is my kitchen clean enough? Did I shower today? Does my place look cheap or unpleasant and will they/the people watching the video think less of me if they see it?” Then, watching them cook at my stove like, “Do they think my stove is ok? Do they wish it was fancier? Are they thinking badly of me and wishing they’d picked another house/person?”
I have anxiety and maybe a very slight hint of undiagnosed Autism so the idea of this is terrifying to me but this video made me realize how intimate and individual your kitchen feels.

This looks so fun. I got adopted by a Mexican family in Mexico City when I was 20. Their son my age found me so sad & confused in the street after I tried to eat in a restaurant alone and some man harassed me. So this nice guy bought me pizza and the next day we went to his family house, big family like this! It was so fun and funny. I really liked his mom, grandfather and sisters. Mexicans are so kind. I think if you spoke decent Spanish some of the other households would’ve opened to you but they were probably so confused! 😄

I am from Peru, and I remember when I was young, and we encountered a tourist asking for directions or in need of something, we would listen , be patient and tried to solve their problem. Wne I came to the States, unfortunately, I didn't get the same reception. When learning a new language, some folks won't make a small effort or take the time to understand what you need... and, this is not a complaint, just my own experience as a newcomer. Of course there are wonderful people in this country, but also a lack of empathy for foreigners exists.
I totally agree. But even as a native, it's not just foreigners. People don't care about others near as much here in the US. It's all about making money and living alone in a mansion. The American dream. Obviously there are exceptions.

Yes I feel this as an American, everyone is told to make their own path and figure things out alone, to look for success only for just themselves and their nuclear family. This leads to more separation and mistrust of others. We forget how to live with people who aren't exactly like us, so we push away.
