    Thanks for these videos. I'm definitely waiting until Star Citizen is actually launched (or at LEAST SQ42) before buying anything because between Virpil and VKB new stuff and improvements happen every 6-12 months, but when I DO buy some high end joysticks it will be heavily based on your videos and which you ultimately stick with. I'm especially looking forward to seeing how Virpil and VKB handle future higher end space sim oriented grips. The Delta is a great improvement with it's mini analogue thumb stick and twist but still lacking. I'd like Virpil to improve their scroll wheel closer to how mice wheels work (i want to use it as a speed limiter but i hear atm it takes a TON of spins to get it to raise and lower even a small amount) , add a pinky trigger or lever, maybe a dedicated thumb button or hat oriented for both left and right grips, maybe an index finger push button on the top right side of the stick,, I'd gladly pay more for a higher end space sim grip like that

      Same, back when i first backed the game i decided that when the game was in a persistent state, i would go full in, with a VR headset, dual sticks and possibly a dedicated throttle. Since then we've seen VR drop from the over $1k range down to the current price of the Occulus Rift at about $400. Both VKB and Virpil have released updated bases and sticks, and Virpil released their throttle.
      Gonna keep waiting and see what the future holds, but progress has been promising so far.

      Will that ever happen? I thought twist was a serious taboo in the high end joystick market.

    • @theloafness
      @theloafness 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barnmaddo virpil has already built twist into some of their sticks, the Constellation DELTA, for example, has it but i prefer the mongoos grip, so ive been holding out hoping they'll add it, and with the amount of dough im gonna drop buying two sticks and two gimbals i only want to do that once. it is a bit taboo to those who are serious flight simulator pilots but for us who build setups for space we like all the bells and whistles. The extra axis is a must for us.

      so do you run DCS A10C simulation with this configuration? I'm just wondering if i could get a WarBRD base and still use a desk extension bracket (small or medium length) so that i could have the CM2 grip for center position usage with the WarBRD base? would it work out that way since you can't use extensions on the WarBRD base. I really don't want to have a CM2 on the desk as it is too tall with the WarBRD base as I have been discovering on videos like this one. What say you? thanks in advance Stephen

    Wow, this version looks even more sturdier and solid than the original T-50 gimbals. After I got my second T-50 base I noticed they were iterating on the gimbals design and the second one came with a "simpler" (lack of better word) version of the gimbals... like is they were trying to use less material to make more lightweight. But from your tear-down video I see they made the gimbals beefier, even more than their first one I got which is almost a single block of metal.
    Does this means that the old models are not suitable to use with extensions?

    Its too bad they don't have an adjustable "neck" so that you can angle the stick a little bit. I personally would like a more natural cant to the right and left side, similar to the angle on the old F16 throttle quadrant to reduce wrist stress and give a more balanced left/right bias pushing the stick right and left [roll]. Just a thought. Might get a pair and actually do that myself [get creative]

    I have a CM2 gimbal and stick. I love them, but I am a little jealous of the metal levers on the Gunfighter Mk.III, and I am curious about how their gimbal compares to the VKB one. I may get a left-handed Constellation Alpha to use on my CM2 base, and then get a Gunfighter for the right hand.

    • @NOOBIFIER1337
      @NOOBIFIER1337  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a possibility. I have reviews on all of the gear you are talking about. I believe newest alpha grip has metal levers. There are people such as Redlir on twitch who run a mixed setup like you are proposing. Both gimbals are great. VKB has more torque than the warbrd gimbal, but the new CM2 gimbal has a new design and easier to work on. It was basically designed to compete toe to toe with the gunfighter base. Hope this helps

    Great Job Noob ...... I have three 50CM2's waiting in a Box as soon as I get home ....... upgraded from the 50 to the 50CM2 so iI could get a Third unit as a matching Spare (just in case) ...... I travel a lot and managed to wrench the USB cable on one of the 50 boxes and it took a while to identify the problem, get the spare and fix it ........ Virpil had stopped making the 50 at this stage.......... Now any problem, I just have to swap boxes.....
    I figured there might be a significant difference in feel between the 50 and the 50CM2 ...... perhaps I was wrong. I guess if you balance the adjustments, you would be ok using a 50 in one hand and a 50CM in the other..?

    CM2 with Z-axis left- and right-handed options. Guaranteed sales, but Virpil does not seem to be listening, emails, forum posts, FB posts despite wide interest/requests. Like so many other would be customers, I have absolutely no reason to buy anything else so I make do with what I have since it's not broken though far less functional than what I'd like to get my hands on. Thanks Noob! Quick question - you mentioned that Virpil's software and Corsair's software for the K65 keyboard don't like each other. I was thinking of getting the K65, but am not sure I want any more hassle than I've already experienced... the two Virpils *were* a pain to get set up.
