    I think Ford should let you borrow your old Ford GT racecar for the day so we can see the clear difference between a street car and a race car. Keep’em coming Billy!

    Billy, i had chance to drive a 718 GTS 4.0 over the weekend. Turned every (ESP,TC) off. Car was handful(sensitive to trail brake and big weight transfer). It seems like these car is designed to be driven with nannys on to achieve best lap unless you are pro level driver. The electronics really makes driver’s life easy on these Porsches.

    I love the format change on this video!
    The voice over was actually a great addition. Good on you sir for listening to the suggested comments.
    The fact that you then went above and beyond to show the laps without commentary was phenomenal!

    Good video. And I agree, why don't more GT3 owners add more wing angle? Free mod. That's one of the first things I did to my GT3.
    And the commentary during the drive is much better than just watching the video. Similar to what Randy Post and Andy Pilgrim do in their vids with great success. Please keep the commentary for future vids.

    You make it look easy! What about slicks? (what would that do for lap times?)Does that make it not production/Street comparable for official lap times? Thanks for bringing your cred to these vids! Awesome!

    • @OneLapBilly
      @OneLapBilly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on which slicks, but they are typically a few seconds faster than some of the best DOT-legal 'street' tires. When it comes to "official" lap times, there is no real standard even when some OEMs market times on a certain track. OEMs have been known to use 'street' tires that you can't get equipped on the car from the dealerships. Does that make it no longer "stock"? OEMs have also used cars in shootout competitions and laps that have more power or are modified; while this is less common, it still happens. I like to keep cars at least on street tires when I talk about "stock" cars.

    @OneLapBilly what sway bar settings would you recommend for the RS at Buttonwillow?

    • @OneLapBilly
      @OneLapBilly  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the wing and front under aero block off plates, as well as the tire and the owners ability. I would start full stiff front; soft rear, and work on driving first, then slowly dial out some understeer based off tire temps.

    Yet another great video! Your channel is an excellent and unique resource for someone who tracks frequently! Look forward to seeing some more exciting content from you!
    Here is a video I made comparing my personal best laps in both my cars (GT3 RS and 720s) at Eagles Canyon Raceway in TX, obviously I'm an amateur with less than a year of experience and about 20 track days under my belt so hoping it offers people that perspective.
    th-cam.com/video/l_8eKQRJFmU/w-d-xo.html
    Obviously tracks with long straight aways are well suited for 720s so performance difference between both cars will vary based on the track. My 720s not having a harness certainly slows me down as I find myself holding on to the steering wheel to prevent from sliding side to side ways.
