I was at Galpin Auto Sports today and they backed them up running the 11's. I just purchased a 5.0 and going to drop a Whipple SC, and exhaust sure to push 600+. Will keep you guys posted.
This video never gets old, I've watched it about 15 times and I must say I'm excited for november 2011 when my kona blue 5.0 GT with 6 speed the brembo brake package and 3:55 gears is mine. Needless to say I WILL be a good customer of Evolutions. Can't Wait!
Very impressive! My procharged 03 GT runs high 11's, NOW the 2011 is naturally aspirated with bolt ons plus a tune and runs the same ET?! My decision about letting my baby go and upgrading to a 2011 are set in stone now...I must have one. Great video, good work guys!
I'm a GM man for years. Chysler and GM raised the bar awhile back with the Challenger and Camaro, but here we finally have a worthy opponent . Way to go FORD!
saw u guys running 11.5 this weekend at atco, very nice. i showed up with my 11 but didnt run it. so u guys just have i believe Borla mufflers, a tune and a proto type intake, which im gussing is just like every other after market kind.
I was honestly never a domestic guy (strictly importans - euro and japanese), hell i didn't even respect them one bit, but Ford has done an excellent job reinventing the mustang and themselves. The 2011 Mustang has changed everything that i thought about Ford and pony cars. I used to hate on domestics, but this is amazing and respect is due. Time for other domestics to step the game up. Great job Ford. High 11's with bolt ons and a tune is astonishing.
I own a Evo atm and it is putting down about the same power.....But as soon as Roush puts out their stg 3 I may be selling her. New 5.0 is a beast. Its about time they brought it back.
This is from their Facebook page on the mods made to the car to get over 400 hp at the wheels: Our 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L 4V (5.0 Mustang and Super Fords Magazine Project Car) made 405 RWHP and 375 RWTQ with the addition of an Off-Road X-Pipe, Catback Exhaust System, K&N Drop In Filter, and a Custom Tune! That's a gain of 36 RWHP and 23 RWTQ! That's not bad but we're still working on some other changes in the tune to gain more horsepower and torque. 5.0 is underrated at 412, is close to 450 hp.
...holy shit...I can't believe it picked the tires up...THAT is impressive-don't matter if your Bowtie, Mopar, Import or other. Hell of a stock ring and pinion, after doing all those launches all day with E.T. Streets (slicks)
The 5.0 is back baby. God I always was jelous of my parents for getting the 70's cars... Now that the new age "horsepower wars" has begun... its all fun n games now! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
I've got to admit that for the past few years at least I thought mustangs were a joke (if left stock). This 2011 GT looks like they finally got their shit together and put out a good stock car!
GO EVO!!!!!! Power to weight baby!!! Airborne!!!! nice 4th gear chirp Can you imagine this thing with a 2.9 Whipple, wholly crap!!!!!!!! I see low 9's coming to a dragstrip near you. We are soooo lucky to be living in this era of HP...... Cmon Chevy wheres the Z28?
On the positive Ford made a really nice car I give them alot of praise and I was never a ford guy but I'll have a 2011 GT before years end. I'll be contcting Evolution as well love the work they've been doing with those cars.
Guys... I own a 2010 Camaro 2SS 6M. Im a Chevy man through and through. I would never in a million years even think of buying a Ford product. That was before the 2011 Mustang. I have been keeping up with this 5.0 for years knowing that it would be a big hit for Ford and always wondering why they hadn't pushed harder for this engine sooner. Well now that it is here for all the world to see I admit that I am more than impressed. It is now easy for me to say this: Good job Ford. Dig race? haha
@WongBob One more thing I have to add to that... Even though I am impressed with the car I still must say stock for stock between the Camaro and Mustang it is a drivers race. Mod for mod will have the same results. The two biggest things helping the Mustang are: shorter individual gear ratios and less weight. Anyway props on being first into the 11's! Local dealerships havent even seen a '11 GT...
Being a GM fan over the years you have to give ford credit where credit is due.The new 2011 Mustang is a totally different car than it used to be and for once is worthy of some attention.Would I take a mustang over a camaro absolutely not but thumbs up to ford for putting a real motor back in the mustang WITHOUT needing a blower
It is impressive that this car is barely on the market and making a 11 second pass. If the tremendous aftermarket for Mustangs follows this one as well, there will be some running 10s before this year is over. I'm a diehard Corvette guy, owned a 10 second 99 GT years ago, and recently sold an 87 Grand National that I loved. This car is hot and going to do damage on the streets.
If you put a set of 80 dollar drag bags in the rear springs and bump it up to 10psi.. The IRS has no problem launching, Thats with a M6, an A4 doesnt need them... If your a competent driver IRS is not a problem to launch correctly.. FYI I never said i personally ran a high 12 stock, I said I ran a 13 flat stock... But that was 4 years ago and things have changed since then...
@philtripe i was talking about "when the NSX came out" not over its whole life span. and im talking about cars that actually sold with the intent to compete with it, in the same class. i dont care about a wagon that does a similar 1/4mile. for people that were shopping for a Supercar under $100k in the year 1990, the NSX was not outperformed, or undersold by any of its competitors. thats the only point i intended to make. i personally own an LS3 powered car, and an NSX.
Look up their other videos("Evolution Performance - 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L 4V Stock Dyno Video! "). There is one of this car doing a dyno pull.. It states 3.73 as the only mod (does not change HP/Tq) The numbers from that dyno pull are the same ones as the numbers from the "Run #1" on this video. That makes me assume they only tuned it to get the numbers in Tune #2. Stock + tune = 375/405 Stock + 373's + tune + sicks = 11's. win.
Keep up the good work. You guys should be damn proud of yourselves...your also pissing me off 'cause now I have to buy more bolt ons to my '04 Mach to keep up. Congrats....
Like I told the other guy, My track is a 3000+Ft above sea level, The track where the mustang ran is 200-400ft above sea level... Huge difference in quality of air... For instance where im at a bone stock lets say SRT8 Jeep which runs 13.1's runs mid 14's at my track do to altitude... Thats why the mustang ran those times, It had good air... If that mustang where to run out by me that would be a mid 12.5-12.8 second car...
@philtripe the NSX wasnt shortlived. it was produced for 16 years, on the same body, chassis, and drivetrain (only minor changes made). during that time, the mustang went through 3 chassis changes, and 2 engine-families. and the NSX wasnt slower than any of its competition back in 1990. its only competition was the Ferrari 348, and the Porsche 911 3.3 turbo. the NSX was cheaper than both, and just as fast 1/4 mile times.
Check out the driver's side front tire at 2:25 for a truly impressive glimpse of the new Coyote's bite. I'm pissing myself in anticipation. Oh haha, it shows you the wheelie at the end, whatever. This new Mustang is mind-blowing!
@soccer20fourseven Jeeze what do you people want from a $30k car?? 10's?? Bravo Ford! They did a hell of a job with this new motor and EvoPerformance...Keep it up!!!!
thats great for this motor not being out to work with that long !im gonna buy one this summer then ima go out camaro hunting. what's all done to this one?
@Breze84 Actually when it was stock the mach put down 299.9 and was put together well. Not too mention it dosn't weigh as much as a grocery getter either. Oh and one other thing, Ford is still around and not using MY money to stay afloat.
Considering this mustang makes only 10 hp more at the wheels than the stock one Inside Line tested, and that this one does a 12.6 on factory tires and high 11's/low 12's on the better tires is just insane.
@gr8oli and no matter what big of a difference the style has changed throughout the years between the 2, which car is the one thats selling the most? which car has continued to be in existance without discontinuing of production? damn sure isn't the camarslow!
the people who appear to be putting down the 2011 mustang are simply blinded by their stubbornness and over the top loyalty to another vehicle or vehicles. If you are a true car enthusiast than you would easily recognize this 2011 mustang has much to offer. Stop being a hater. I love Mopar, I love Ford, I love GM. They all bring a their own distinct qualities to the table that millions of Americans have been enjoying and loving for years.
Evo, let's go for 500HP at the crank NA - no nitrous and on 93 octane! Do you think the 100 HP / litre benchmark is attainable? Ford's engineers did hint that the stock intake and exhaust were not optimal. Yummy, I would love to squeeze out 500 crank HP from that motor without additives! I know the heads breathe WAY better (dunno the numbers), but wonder if there is room for improvement even still. The intake manifold (not just CAI) also seems like an area of curiosity to me, too.
@jkheslekrants I don't why you don't think it would run a 12.6 of the showroom considering the car has been professionally tested to run 12.7-12.8. And this car was run on a dragstrip, so you will run better times. If it does put down 352rwhp mid 12's wouldn't be out of the question...my car is a high 13 and puts down only 192whp.
@kingranchon24 they didnt dyno 435 they said it had 435 at the crank instead of 412 the only thing they actually put numbers for was the v6 at 305 to the wheels
does this mustang come in a v6 trim? and is there any visual differences between the two? the reason i ask is because i just recently came into a 87 supra turbo and theres one that looks just like the one in the video around my town and i wanna know what im getting myself into if i ever run into him on the highway.. lol i know the v6 has like 300 hp from factory and the v8 is underrated at whatever rwhp so i just wanna be sure so i know if i even have a slight chance
@xZZxTakedown If you only knew how easy it is to time the mod motors. There is nothing nightmarish about the OHC timing chains, they don't have problems and they are easy to work on. Don't be afraid just because it is "different".
Toting the front wheels and snatching them off the ground for a split second is two different things. If you rev a engine high enough and dump the clutch with sticky rear tires, it's gonna snatch something. Luckily, it was the tire....this time.
@Swidhelm I think I'll have to drive one when I come back stateside, The only thing I dislike is the solid "pickup truck axle" With all the customizing we can do to old classics, I wonder why they dont have custom Independent suspension a modifier could weld in. Nice car, and nice Power output, I like the glass roof too!
Don't get me wrong they are pretty sweet motors. They sound good as hell and I know they don't have problems. Mustangs are well built cars but I would rather own a pushrod motor if I was going to have a V8, that's just me.
@JB1263 Probably because it has minimal power mods, stock gears, and the cars have been on dealer lots for less than a month and have already gone well into the 11s. It's not the ET itself that is so impressive, it's that it took so little time and money to get there.
This Video is what got me to buy my 2011 GT and 5k in mods later I still want more.
I was at Galpin Auto Sports today and they backed them up running the 11's. I just purchased a 5.0 and going to drop a Whipple SC, and exhaust sure to push 600+. Will keep you guys posted.

Sean backer, So how did your build go? Any updates
The old school 5.0 emblem makes my arm hair stand straight up !!! Awesome job Blue Oval ;-)
thanx evo.you guys rock. yall sold me and my friends t shirts at beech bend in 09. were big fans.FORD RULES. GO TREVER BAYNE.DAYTONA 500!
That is PIMP! Ford has really stepped their game up!!
Very impressive! My procharged 03 GT runs high 11's, NOW the 2011 is naturally aspirated with bolt ons plus a tune and runs the same ET?! My decision about letting my baby go and upgrading to a 2011 are set in stone now...I must have one. Great video, good work guys!
damn sweet thats awesome especially considering how little modifications u did good luck on what ever u do to it in the future cant wait to see more
I'm a GM man for years. Chysler and GM raised the bar awhile back with the Challenger and Camaro, but here we finally have a worthy opponent . Way to go FORD!

That sounds like a very slick track :) Chirping every gear w/ slicks.
agreed ! nice to see ford back in racing (pro stock) and making killer performance cars !
i've always been more of a camaro guy but ever since they brought back the 5.0 mustang all i gotta say is sweet
I was honestly never a domestic guy (strictly importans - euro and japanese), hell i didn't even respect them one bit, but Ford has done an excellent job reinventing the mustang and themselves. The 5.0 will reign supreme again... I can't wait to buy one this year.
these guys have been kicking ass since the GT500 came out.
That exhaust tone gives me goosebumps.
i like the 4th gear scratches, those launches on the radials look pretty brutal for the car
This is from their Facebook page on the mods made to the car to get over 400 hp at the wheels:
Our 2011 Mustang GT 5.0L 4V (5.0 Mustang and Super Fords Magazine Project Car) made 405 RWHP and 375 RWTQ with the addition of an Off-Road X-Pipe, Catback Exhaust System, K&N Drop In Filter, and a Custom Tune! damn that mustang sounds awesome. I hope ppl do great things with the new 5.0, it's about time ford brought it back!
The 5.0 is back baby. God I always was jelous of my parents for getting the 70's cars... Now that the new age "horsepower wars" has begun... its all fun n games now! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Wow i like that Ford. Pulling a wheel off the ground with little mods is impressive.
Very sick! and pulling the wheels, It's about time. Blue Oval baby.
I've got to admit that for the past few years at least I thought mustangs were a joke (if left stock). This 2011 GT looks like they finally got their shit together and put out a good stock car!
thank you for not covering up the sound of the engine with crap music!
GO EVO!!!!!! Power to weight baby!!! Airborne!!!! nice 4th gear chirp

Ford nailed it with this car. Great job.
Gotta continue to mod the Z06 to stay ahead.
That is flat out nasty. I can't wait to see what some custom cams and ported heads do for this engine.
This is beast! Virtually stock and pulling those numbers?! Hopefully I can get this car when I get back from basic.
@jkheslekrants Only mods were the Mickey Thompson tires and Bogart Wheels for 11's. 12.6 is stock.
Wow that thing pulled the front tire @ 2:25, that is very impressive for a bolt-on mustang
Nice!! mine will be here sometime this week. i was wondering what was done to this one. just a tune?
Freaking awsome! Congrats! Makes me want to jump into one.

Nice runs and good work on the car, those chevy boys that thought this car was maxed out must be crying right now lol
This is the place that tuned my '96 Ford Thunderbird
If you put a set of 80 dollar drag bags in the rear springs and bump it up to 10psi.. The IRS has no problem launching, Thats with a M6, an A4 doesnt need them... @atvman400 Nope, just a Sway Bar Relocation Kit for $55.00
Like I told the other guy, My track is a 3000+Ft above sea level, The track where the mustang ran is 200-400ft above sea level... Huge difference in quality of air... I do love this mustang ...ill buy one in a few years

Gorgeous. 4 banger STI's are gonna be pissed.
V8 eats rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
THE KING OF THE HILL IS BACK.
FIVE OHHHHHHHH!
Wow, I love the sound of the new 5.0L. I just wish it wasn't such high compression.
im more of a chevy guy, but i'll admit that new 5.0 is a beast
@LS100TA
um....quite wrong. while they didnt offer one in '74 right after the oil embargo they did offer a v8 in 75, 76, 77, and 78.
@Deango2 Yes. X-pipe, no cath, tuned, upper intake, slicks. I can't recall any car ever doing 10s without opening the engine.
thats is some badass drivin skills i tell ya what.
nice car!!! Mustang has always been my dream car and I'm hoping to still get one.
What song is this btw?
@soccer20fourseven Jeeze what do you people want from a $30k car?? 10's?? Bravo Ford! They did a hell of a job with this new motor and EvoPerformance...Keep it up!!!!
SONG is Seasons-The Veer Union
thats great for this motor not being out to work with that long !im gonna buy one this summer then ima go out camaro hunting. what's all done to this one?
@Breze84 Actually when it was stock the mach put down 299.9 and was put together well. Not too mention it dosn't weigh as much as a grocery getter either. Oh and one other thing, Ford is still around and not using MY money to stay afloat.

slight tire slip all the way passed 3rd. good job guys
Awsome engine, cant wait till it comes to australia. Would be a nice upgrade from my 3V 5.4 L.
And yeah, wats the song at the end called?
good video without music while it runs.the engine is the best music
@gr8oli and no matter what big of a difference the style has changed throughout the years between the 2, which car is the one thats selling the most? which car has continued to be in existance without discontinuing of production? damn sure isn't the camarslow!
the people who appear to be putting down the 2011 mustang are simply blinded by their stubbornness and over the top loyalty to another vehicle or vehicles. nice passes ..props.badazz launch
@atvman400 Taller tires? Noone said the slicks and the street tires were the same size.
It would be nice to see what you guys can do to a Nissan Frontier with the QR25DE 4 cyl engine....... That would be a nice sleeper
I want to see a 6 speed auto with a converter, tune and drag radials. It won't trap as high, but it will ET better.
Great video and promotional tool for the Mustang. Does anyone know the artist and title of the song at the end?
@jkheslekrants I don't why you don't think it would run a 12.6 of the showroom considering the car has been professionally tested to run 12.7-12.8. And this car was run on a dragstrip, so you will run better times. If it does put down 352rwhp mid 12's wouldn't be out of the question...my car is a high 13 and puts down only 192whp.
@kingranchon24 they didnt dyno 435 they said it had 435 at the crank instead of 412 the only thing they actually put numbers for was the v6 at 305 to the wheels
does this mustang come in a v6 trim? and is there any visual differences between the two?
the reason i ask is because i just recently came into a 87 supra turbo and theres one that looks just like the one in the video around my town and i wanna know what im getting myself into if i ever run into him on the highway.. lol
i know the v6 has like 300 hp from factory and the v8 is underrated at whatever rwhp so i just wanna be sure so i know if i even have a slight chance
I'm not sure what's better-the time or the SOUND!
What exhaust and long tube headers you guys are running on that thing by chance?
The car runs good out of the box but what did you do to get the 117/118 mph runs- that sure as hell wasn't stock.
Luckily, it was the tire....this time.
i want one of these so bad...but to say this one is almost stock is misleading...how aggressive is the "custom tune"?
Very impressive! There's gonna be alot of 2010 Camaro SS smack down at stop lights across the country...
@scupking Because of the high revs it does stock.
if you read the info they talk about buying parts i am assuming thats what they added to the mustang to make it run in the 11's
@TCFiveoh Thank you! I wish more people could understand that.
Man does this car sound awesome!!!
And how many tracks are below Sea level???? Where im from we are at 1200 ft above sea level so 400ft is a huge difference...
@Swidhelm I think I'll have to drive one when I come back stateside, The only thing I dislike is the solid "pickup truck axle"
With all the customizing we can do to old classics, I wonder why they dont have custom Independent suspension a modifier could weld in.
Nice car, and nice Power output, I like the glass roof too!
Don't get me wrong they are pretty sweet motors. They sound good as hell and I know they don't have problems. Mustangs are well built cars but I would rather own a pushrod motor if I was going to have a V8, that's just me.
just picked mine up tonight. have one ? does the clutch pedel feel as if you can blow on it down. mine takes barely any effort at all to push
@JB1263 Probably because it has minimal power mods, stock gears, and the cars have been on dealer lots for less than a month and have already gone well into the 11s. It's not the ET itself that is so impressive, it's that it took so little time and money to get there.
wats done to this mustang anything besides the sway bar relocation kit?
@gr8oli please specify these kinds of "shits" that the mustang had to put to so called keep up with the camaro?
@72demon416 ya i would like to know the mods too, looks mostly like the tires did most of the increase but id like to know.
