This was a pretty advanced game. Great audio. Also there was customization in options menu - where exactly to put your helpers, and assigning a balance between each weapon type if combined.
with all the level difficulties, with all those bosses, you didn't get hit even once??? but the last boss is the most difficult among all, still you didn't get hit even once, big salute for you bro
@svenneri: no release us version for this game exist, but the japan version is better (tested on Nester emulator on psp, better sound, better framerate...)
This is the NES version, i ended the Famicom version a couple of weeks ago and don't remember that ending with the baby alien, maybe because i used continues or because they changed it for the american release. Anyone knows?
Question: was the music this slow on the actual cartridge? I've only played this on emulators and assumed the format with faster music was how it was meant to sound.
This awesome game deserves both a remake AND a sequel.

oh great, i loved this game so much as a child
It's a shame that a sequel never came.
closest to it is Steel Empire.
Amazing game, would of loved to have seen Super Over Horizon on Snes.

It's like if R-Type, Gradius, Axelay, U.N. Squadron, and Thunderforce had a baby.
that's some serious orgy
Proof that shmups don't need to be hard to be awesome.
PROVE IT
It's like R-Type but playable by actual humans.
I got a good laugh out of this
music is good
This game needs a modern console port. Awesome game
Yes, my childhood, finally found it !!!
I loved this game... I don't know how many times I played it
***** prefer my sci-fi space stuff...
sci-fi spacey stuff
I’ve just noticed that 100% of screen is dedicated to gameplay. There is no borders and no HUD of any kind. That’s rare.
Классная игра, спасибо.
Congratulations on beating that criminally overlooked shmup, Over Horizon. Too bad it never was ported over for the U.S..
this game graphic is doped for nes
I just realized the company which make this game also makes steel empire
diese spiel hab ich immer als kind gespielt war sehr geil damals
I played this game as a kid nice nice
this looks quite awesome for a nes game O_o nice playthrough

There was never an American release of this game, just Japan and PAL regions got it.
Looks like R-Type for NES.
I did a trick in the past that turned the ship into a horse.
Wow! Its like zero wing!

maybe you played the pal release
@@mariowario5945 It only had a PAL release, iirc. Maybe an NTSC-J. So yes, I likely played the PAL rom at NTSC speed. Much better experience imo.
New one for me. Going to buy a copy of ebay asap
何か色の使い方とか、初代MSXっぽくない?
ur pro player but me dying wondering whats 'B' bullets look like.😣
We want armake at nintendo swtch
I finished in 1993 👍😉
So instead of doughnut firing moa heads we have cat statues that double as flamethrowers... nice.
Does someone have the U.S. version of Over Horizon (Licensed by Nintendo of America Inc. version), translated in English?
+susanfit47 I'm afraid this game never came out in the US, only Japan and Europe.
@lentoman God damn ! yeah ! ...... hey ! where are my 5000 gamerscorepoints ? =(
NES tech demo the game.
Final Boss 30:50
Huh. I didn't know Hot B actually made good games.
Palamedes.
@@joshuacampbell6487 I didn't know they made Palamedes. Huh.

Achievement unlocked: First comment
Look like, this game gonna drain out the performance of NES platform~~
first comment again ! =D
Gradius rip off
Gradius is too boring to compare with this game, Over Horizon is same level as Life force- Salamander , both got epic music, good game play
It's Gradius+R-Type with the option to shoot backwards, basically.
Gradius is boring Dung? Hardly, yet you name Salamander/Lifeforce as epic, which is IN the Gradius series.
@@Bloodreign1 Maybe because salamander is easier because of the auto weapon select.
