I booked the cheapest flights I could find (£92 return) from Leeds Bradford airport. Flinging in to Gdańsk then out of Wrocław with no plans or direction in between going where the wind blows me but in -9C! I have a sleeping bag and Bivvy as fall back accommodation to survive which I use several times to save money. I also book some lovely places to stay along the way allowing me to explore the cities. I meet loads of lovely kind people, eat some incredible food, see the sights and have a few beers. I love to explore and push my comfort zone. Language was the biggest barrier but I’m good at charades👌

I admire European Countries, they not only built homes and buildings to live and work in, they built them for the eye, and they have the freedom to paint and decorate their sections of the building to their preferences, and it isn't just a big blank building. The architecture there is just amazing. The US has very limited areas with true architecture, anything modern is just bland.
Yes old cities have so much character and feel more homely. I love exploring them!

Great stuff Al! Coincidentally, I'm on a train trundling through Romania viewing the snowy mountains as well as your video. I kind of live the lifestyle you share here and it's reassuring to know that perhaps I'm not completely nuts by travelling around with loose, flexible plans. Best way mate. Just today I missed my train from Bucharest but the kindness of the locals saw me good and proper. Like you say, it needn't cost much. I'm just hoping that I get twenty five women cheering me on over Christmas whilst I'm here! Keep it up mate!

Thanks once again. It shows how your adventures in England are so special and how special English people are. I bet no-one in Poland goes out on bivvie camps or wanders up and down remote areas. The English always had thus sense of exploring. We did when we were kids in Cheshire.. wandering around Crewe.

2nd leg looked a tough one fella but every credit for getting up and doing that run when feeling rough as. Beach view looked ffffecking ffffreezing but then you brought it back with a lovely looking pizza and beer. My wife and I made the same trip in February, stayed in Gdańsk but took the train to Sopot, the snow was even thicker and the sea was actually starting to freeze, unlike the uk, Poland doesn’t grind to a halt

Alternating between air b&b and bivvy each night is great way to do it!
It saved some money for definite but I always get to shower and chill too👌

I'm 44 years old, I'm from Poland and I've never seen a snowy Baltic beach in my life. Yes, I live in the south of Poland, but for about 20 years I have rarely seen snow in my city (Wrocław)🤣

It reminded me so much of my European 🏤🏰 hitchiking/trekking tours throughout Europe with a full rucksack during the 80/90's, doing exactly as you're doing it...without plans.

Navigating the train stations was the hardest part as the tickets were not obvious of where to go but I managed 😬. I’m sure I’ll be visiting Scotland again soon
