Today we look at "take over payments" Facebook Marketplace cars and trucks. If you take nothing else away from this video (and you probably won't), remember this: until you make the final payment, that is the BANK'S CAR. DO NOT MODIFY THE BANK'S CAR. You are throwing your hard-earned money away and if you're only chasing style points, you're also devaluing an already depreciating asset.
Don't be dumb. Don't modify the bank's car.
It's actually called Bilstein's monster.
I had to argue with a trash mechanic to put new Bilstein's on my 20 yr old Ford Lightning. He kept trying to sell me on some off brand oem cheaper ones. No. Factory are Bilstein's. I have driven this thing harder than you can imagine. He still tried to sell me on cheap crap. I should have just left right then. It used to be a good shop.

Omg he only owed $22k on that camaro.. he is giving it away.. what a steal.. the fool could get more at carmax for it.. Ad said he put $29k into it.. so it must be an ss too.. holy cow those sale at dealerships for $40k all day..
Question is whats wrong with the car?
Got to try and save that 400 credit score.
You don’t get the perpetual debt mindset
The problem with buying a used BMW is that all of them, without fail, have been owned by a BMW owner

That could be extremely good or extremely bad.
If the owner isn’t a well dressed older white guy = no go.

I work at a bank and as soon as I see someone trying to get a hellcat, charger, camaro RS or Ram truck I know that thing aint gonna live to see at least 4 payments.
Those are all basketball player cars 😝
Wrong. Not in TX or my family at least. Cheaper to live there, can pay it off fast especially with a big downpayment. I factored in how much $ 2 weekend trips to Houston/mo would cost me in gas (it's the same as now in mid or premium). I like paying things off in 3 yrs.

Definitely a solid indicator of lack of maintenance if it's dirty for the photo though.
Or interior pictures, just baffles me. It probably comes down to people not really being serious about selling the car
@@Michael-uc2pn It's crazy how effective that method is. If a car looks pristine on the surface most people won't even bother inspecting the mechanical condition and will assume it's just as good as the exterior. It works so well because most people are lazy as shit and you can tell their car is a lemon just from the photos.
That charger GT had the neutral bypass lever pulled. 1000% stolen.
10000% 😂. Not that anyone is surprised
Stolen and plowed into something that was low to the ground. At 5:08 the radiator support shroud is ripped clean through in two spots and every Christmas tree is popped out except for the 2 that are still attached at the hood latch. My brother "modified" the banks very expensive 4×4 diesel. By chainsmoking in it and taking it to "rednecks with paychecks". He lives on my parents large private property outside city limits. He drove it 6 months or longer before it got re-poed.

All new cars that are financed usually come with a GPS plugged into the OBD connection so they can track you or it is directly connected to the battery. They can track how you drive it and everything. Really helpful to voiding your warranty because they will be like "well you went to fast, didn't do proper maintenance, or shifted hard or whatever". I promise you they do this regularly. They can be hidden pretty well honestly and most of the time after you pay it off they just turn off the service or take it off at the dealer. It can also be directly built into it and you won't be able to just unplug it.
Always hang on to your stock parts if you mod a car, selling it is much easier when it’s stock. Getting it serviced for warranty is easier when it’s stock.
Man fuck the warranty. Dealership mechanics are not very intelligent. They know nothing

I bought a 17BRZ (YellowSeries) that was modified with RALLYARMOR RED mudflaps (remmember... the car is YELLOW) full STi Kit (plastic grey color) and an ENOURMOUSLY GIGANTIC 66 full carbon BattleAero chassis mounted wing (which previous owner cut the bumper so bad it aint fixable unless replaced in its entirey)
bought it to put it back to OEM and sell it for profit. but the more I dig into the car. the more I realise previous owner was DUMB AF. like.... like. the amount of electrical non-sense there is under the footwell just for some basic ass lights.... it's horrendous
Man, you got bigger balls than I do for jumping into that mess 😂. Thanks for unfucking it tho, we need more clean BRZ's on the road
Never understood doing that shit to a special edition...that's what the base models are for man. The Yellowseries is my favorite of the first gens too.
Most people have no idea how to wire shit properly. They cut the factory wiring rather than running a fuse tap to a relay for key on power (for things like lights and subs that need a lot of amps. You should only hook up the load side to the battery directly, not the control side). And they use scotch locks, wire nuts, or just electrical tape for connections rather than soldering or crimping with wires that have proper insulation and heat shrink.
After having undone some homebrew fuel pump wiring on a few customer cars (the sending unit failed, so they bypassed it and put power directly to the pump. Unfused of course), I wonder how we don't have more electrical fires
I agree dude. Bought a parts ae86 and it was pretty clean looking so decided to fix it up with the other parts I had laying around (I collected Ae86’s stuff). Car had clean title and everything and looked stock. Only an aftermarket stereo. As soon as I started gutting it to do some cleaning and interior replacement I found a whole mess of wires everywhere! And just under the dash there was like a whole roll of wires looped up behind the stereo area and was like wtf is this. So tore the whole thing apart and Yanked all the unnecessary wires out and left only the oem wire harnesses. All the spare wires I pulled I put in a box and it was so heavy it was at least 80lbs almost. Like a 80lb concrete bag. I still have no idea why there was so much wires in there, they didn’t go anywhere besides out the firewall and directly connected to the battery with no fuse. And the ends in the dash were capped (they also ran under the carpet and under the rear seats). I kept the wires til this day to use for spare wires for stuff that needs it. All random gauges too. Anyway cleaned the car up, wired everything correctly and nicely, and gave a nice paint job and sold it to a friend. Car is no longer around tho since they blew the engine and junked it. So sad to see it go that way but oh wells.

I did buy a catback and a header for it, with some wheel spacers to fix the fitment until I get wheels for it. But I agree about paying the loan down instead of buying mods. There is a ton of stuff I want to buy for it but instead I did the bare minimum to keep me happy until it's paid off. I have been toying with the idea of getting an intake though for more sound. Finally sold a vehicle and and the guy and his family wanted a plate to go home said he would mail it back, (i know very bad, but i was in a rush to go) stated charging tolls to me, called the Town cops and they told me to call the tax office, visited the tax office they told me to file a lost plate, did that, and still was charged toll bills for several months and a parking ticket. Yet i see people with huge issues with their cars and no registration or expired registration but due the cops pull them over no.

When I had my 911 EVERY SINGLE 6cyl Charger with temp tags and straight pipes would ride my A$$ is Dallas..then if I'd speed up to get some distance they'd get mad run up on me again and try to run me off the road. No idea why, I just knew if I had to go to Dallas at night I needed to have a full tank of gas because it was going to be a $hitshow on the freeway. LOL
The usual suspects is why
in Trinidad we got the idiots in Nissan Tidas and Toyota Aquas who try that I just don't move they run into my CLK while doing it they spin into something and die
I'm not sure I'd ever finance a new or used car if I can help it, or really finance anything other than a house or condo to live in at this point. Paid cash for my daily with an insurance payout after my first car that lasted me 8 years was totaled and I can tweak and mod that as long as I can secure transportation to work. If she ends up wrecked or something, I'd buy a fun used ride I can afford to buy outright or at least pay off in less than a year. Avoid buying anything you can't afford to fork over the full amount for, that's my thought.
I remember when i worked in a prison as a CO and there was a CO who had an impala with doors falling off, rust everywhere, it sounded like shit but he had 10k wheels on it. They pulled him into the captains office and asked him how he got so much money to buy those wheels because they knew he was struggling. Fast forward a week later and they pulled the CCTV footage and pn the footage they spotted him going into a bathroom, coming out, whispering to an inmate before the inmate went into the bathroom. They brought the inmate into the office and questioned him, the inmate sold him down the river and the officer was arrested for smuggling drugs into the prison, true story I shit you not.
for some rims, what an idiot. Smuggling is stupid regardless i dont understand why anyone does it.
Car market is messed up, I paid 17k for my 16 fusion hybrid (tip trim) 84k miles, started at 18% interest and 450 a month. Took a year until I could refinance, now we are at 250 a month and 4%. Keep in mind this was twards the end of covid price hikes that we are still feeling and I was 19 with no credit. You kinda get forced into it sometimes, for me what happened is my grandpa wrecked my old civic and I only had 2k, at that moment the only running car that was able to get me was financed lol
Admittedly I made some mods on my Honda Fit even though the note isn't paid off yet. But every mod I made is easily reversable, I never skipped out on preventative maintenance to make way for them (some required maintenance at the same time like the braided stainless steel brake and clutch hoses. I held off until the car was due for a brake flush since I'd have to bleed it after anyway and I could refill the system with high perfornance DOT 4 fluid (I used Motul RBF 600 in this case)), and I actually have equity in the car. I only owe $6-7k now while it's worth $9-10k. I could easily pull off my parts in a weekend and resell them separately for extra money if I decided to sell the car. Not that I would because I love this car.
Aside from the paint fading way too much and way too soon, and the spark plug coils that fail very regularly, they do are a great little toy car to modify and play with on a track... they don't quite go fast enuff to get into trouble, but they do go fast enuff to make it almoat feel like yur haulin' ass cuz they're so small, especially if lowered a couple inches and given decent tires on offset wheels...
@@JeTTRod The paint was mostly on the 1st gens (GD3s) and the plugs and coils was on those and the 2nd gens (GE8s). Mine is a 3rd gen (GK5). Their issues are mostly due to direct injection. The injectors, high pressure fuel pump, carbon buildup on the intake valves, that shit. Also the VTC actuator (sprocket on the intake can for the variable valve timing) going bad. But those issues can be mitigated largely with shorter oil change intervals, more frequent spirited driving, and being careful where you refuel.
There are still some leak issues, but it's only common if you have a sunroof (mine is an LX, so it doesn't). Also the push button starts on these cars are known to fail (again, mine as an LX doesn't have that option).
They are super fun to drive and even with it being slow, the amount of speed they can carry into corners lets you surprise people. And I can thrash it and still get 35 MPG.
my 22 civic has mods. i owe money on it but i could just pay it off right now if i really wanted to. if you actually plan on paying off the car and keeping it, why wait to put mods on it?
Been 4 years now with my 3rd gen. Probably the best purchase ill ever make despite the cars usual issues.
"That's a load of bs about that title." Stolen car problems.
I’m glad this video came up so we can dissect an offer I got on marketplace. Someone offered me to take over their 15k loan on a 2014 GTI with bags, shit wheels, and 120k-for my 99 5 speed rust free 323iC with 61k miles.
When will the world reach extinction? We’ve gone too far in humanity
This video makes me feel better. I might be a square with my tiny Hyundai i10 but at least I paid cash up front for it.
10:14 that synchronized "Uuuggghh" at the disgust of it.
I love the E92 interior color, you guys are crazy.
My bank owned car all ive done, subwoofer, really nice dashcam setup with a tracker and cameras all around wired into the car, and window tints to protect my black interior from the sun here in the desert. I'm fine with the wheels n tires it has but I did go get some nice Michelin and a set of steelies with stuffed ones. And since it's a turbo car there were a couple things to bullet proof like an oil catch can, just things that help protect the car.
I have modified the banks car many a time. But i support the sentiment 🙂↕️😔😂.
Also taking over payments sounds like a nightmare.
The only time you’d modify the banks car is if you can comfortably afford it with very low interest and you simply didn’t want to drop all your cash into a car at once
I had two missed payments on my credit years ago (same account, two months in a row, straight up made a paperwork error, my bad). In 2015.
Did the math, realized I could make about 24 payments on a new account to move from 97% to 99% on time (worth a big credit bump).
So I bought a car on a 6 year loan at 3.14%, then immediately paid of about 70% of the loan, and paid like $30/month for years to get credit recovered.
But you can’t get loans that low anymore, and even if you could no one rebalances the loan’s monthly payment.
Still, that’s about the only way I could figure it’d remotely make sense to pay to mod the banks car: travel back in time and get an exceedingly favorable loan after having already screwed up something else.
Never buy a used US military kei truck. They get ragged. Trust.
I suppose the best bet would be a small business Kei truck?
@@rubberwoody for a cheaper one, that would probably be your best bet. I watched people refuse to learn how to drive a manual transmission while driving a manual transmission military vehicle.
Lol my Dad modified a banks car.. it was paid off in 7 years brand new.He was also a service writer and his 2 best friends I call uncle where/are Master machinist.... late 90s early 2000s car scene was fun for me
Sneed there are ashtrays inside the back doors too on the e39. Unironically more ashtrays than cupholers.
I modified the bank’s car so that I can keep the $35k I owe them at 3.5% APR compounding at 5.4% APY in 1 month treasury bills along side my extra $100k that I have as an emergency fund outside of my retirement. No point on paying off low interest debt if I get a guaranteed profit in the end.
Netgear in Asheville?! What’s yo business son
ITS YOURS IF YOU "PAY IN TIME"
We play this in the classic comedy section at our university in 2028. PURE GOLD. Netgear still be gettin bitches.....

This video really motivated me to stop dumping money in my old truck and pay off my car. Thanks guys I'm am idiot

10:07 that’s a cool BMW fasho. Guy seems upset about tire kickers.
Found a seller on facebook marketplace wanting 9k for an old rolling shell BRZ. Absolutely insane to me when I saw the description.
Just found this channel, especially love the cars against humanity series. You dudes are funny
