Saturn Ions are the automotive equivalent of McDonalds. It may be cheap, slightly embarrassing to be seen at, and full of microplastics, but it's great value for the money.
I have an 07, it just started showing signs of head gasket being unhappy (foam on dip stick) at 257k miles, I think I'm gonna try to squeeze a Buick v6 under the hood to give it a second lease on life.
Yeah so I removed the coolant from my car and it heats up much faster. Also, my check engine light came on so that’s a good sign the engine is working properly now
Depends on the state. Some states make you get an air brake endorsement or CDL. Texas only makes you get a CDL over 26,000 lbs. I wouldn't want to drive a bus that doesn't have air brakes.
A fiery death is very much a Jeep Cherokee thing. My buddies '94 grand cherokee decided to light itself on fire while we were waiting to pay for a drive thru car wash. All the sudden there's smoke coming out of the vents, I looked over at the engine temp and told him to pop the hood and immediately saw flames. Appreciate that it did this before we got into car wash lmao. RIP to that Jeep.
I got my 2007 Honda Fit in a 5 speed for free because the engine is ticking. It has been a fun car so far, but of course with it having over 260,000 miles on it, the engine is definitely giving out. Still love it as a daily though.
Just substitute a few quarts of Lucas in it when you change the oil, wait till it's warm before you run it hard and carry on. Probably run at least another 30,000-50,000 miles like that.
People sleep on first gen Highlanders. You can still find them under $4k, which is great considering camry platform + great V6 and an alright AWD component.
+1 to don’t buy M30s from a previous owner of a ‘90 Maxima. They’re fucking piles, the parts are unobtainium, and when you finally do fix it it’s the Nissan equivalent of an iron duke in a pile FWD platform
So yes, the jeeps natural thing is the death wobble because my 04 cherokee also had a death wobble. There's a shock in the suspension of the steering rack that makes it non wobble, and it's a double wishbone suspension
That Charger R/T, just add a couple or qts of Lucas when you change the oil and use Rotella 5w-40 ir the Walmart Supratech equivalent diesel oil. It'll run for 250k with a tick.
Gotta brag about getting a 1999 TJ Wrangler for $4k flat back in July, 140k miles and no rust. all I've had to replace are general wear bits and fender flares.
Just had to buy a new car unexpectedly. The search was sooo discouraging. Even the $8k-$10k cars were hard to find something reliable that wasn't trashed.
I bought a Cherokee for $900 a couple months ago. Also death wobble is kind of "normal" for them. Solid front axle suspension so any single bad bushing in the control arms, ball joints, steering, whatever can cause the shake
Picked up my 93 Lincoln Mark VIII for 1600 dollars. Been 3 months since then and it's been a fine ship, cause it's literally a cruise 🚢 you can take a nice cruise in
I used to have a ‘96 Thunderbird 4.6 that I got off marketplace for $1000 and that thing was great for the money regardless of the leaky water pump and blown passenger window regulator
@@resentedsteam8332 fair point. I just hate refilling the coolant on the 4.6, damn crossover tube cap has a broke off socket head in it so I gotta attack it with some vice grips
Recently bought a 92 Jeep Wrangler for 5k. Frame is spotless, body rust is very minimal. Just needs a little TLC since maintenance wasn't kept up on it. Slave cylinder, balljoints, and tie rod ends all from rockauto. Currently in the process of replacing all the exterior and interior bulbs with LED's.
Yes, i bought my 06 Milan for $1300 and I've had it for just over a year now. I guess it just depends on what you are looking for and how smart you are!
The seat on the Caprice is probably cut because it's illegal to have a gun in the car unless it's in the trunk in CA, that way they can just throw the guns through that hole into the trunk if they get pulled over.
Last year needed a car, bought a 2012 mazda 6 clean title just a tiny dent on the hood and a bit of fucked up vinyl on the corner of the dash 150k miles. It was a steal aside from the terrible tires and a heat shield that was tapping the exhaust that just had to be tightened. 4 grand + a few hundred for the tires and the inconvenience of finding the noise. I'm surprised the dude actually had all the maintenance done for how little he sold it for, some friends figured the transmission was on it's way out or something but it's still going strong at 180 with the o2 sensor and spark plugs i learned how to replace today. I didn't know a damn thing about how to maintain a car but aside from changing the low beams because of some overstyling (have to get in from wheel well) and terrible looking LED adapters from the previous guy this thing's been great to learn on (helps a fuckin lot that older folks at work are happy to teach me and lend me tools I don't own).
Juice breaks is referring to them being hydraulics not air brakes it makes it easier to get registered as a non-commercial vehicle because you don't have to have the air brake certification
Picked up a 2012 base model Golf 2 months ago. 144,000 miles. Spent a little on some basic maintenances, tires and such, its a solid ride for the 4k ive got in it.
On that Cherokee and death wobble.. Assuming those are body on frame (which I suspect they are but don't quote me on that) death wobble sounds reasonable. I own a 00' Suzuki Vitara 4u2 (sold as a Geo tracker in the States) and it death wobbles like a motherfucker 😂
I was just watching this video and about 5 minutes after the Bad to The Bone Punisher Tundra I paused the video. Meanwhile in the background my kids are watching Megamind and Bad to the Bone plays! I'm thinking, "wait, where are the skulls?!"
"No it's to live at the Walmart parking lot then the other one across town" Dude lmfao I've literally never heard anything more true as a Walmart employee, I used to work at one of the grocery store ones and I used to see this RV parked outside it all the time, I transferred to the big Walmart in town to do oil/tires and I see the same fucking RV chilling out in that parking lot too lmfao.
when the hemis tick in the chargers, its usually a failed roller rocker. than it develops a misfire cause it keeps getting driven and thats when you know it needs a cam
The Caprice likely has subwoofers in the trunk that are vented into the cabin through the seatback. (no space left in package tray due to the 6 speakers hoggin' it up )
You could always grab a functional vehicle for under 4k it just might not be what you want. It's still not what I would personally consider cheap but yeah. Always were useable cars for 4k. Now you gotta hope n pray they actually respond to your message. *Looking at you $500 project jeep guy in New London. * So e people just don't know that FB hides your phone number if you type it out plain.
13:58 what would worry me is if it is lifter tick then what other damage is the engine hiding. Only a full teardown would answer that question, and at that point it might as well be an empty shell for a project to me. Worth 1000$ at most to me due to dying engine, but i'd shoot for 500$.
Got my 2013 Genesis Sedan 5.0 R-Spec last month for 2.5k. The front bumper, grill and headlight lens need to be replaced but mechanically and electronically she is perfect, the transmission was replaced underneath warranty too so failure is very unlikely and she drives like a beauty.
I had a cherokee that was lifted to high heaven and didn't have a death wobble. But if you keep stock parts on those things they will do the death wobble fs. It is indeed a jeep thing.
that $3,500 BMW is not bad but if you want to own a 20 year old BMW you have to work on it yourself or it will break your wallet. Good parts that wont' die in 3 months are not cheap and labor from a good Euro shop are high so you have to learn to work on the platform yourself typical old euro car stuff, if you don't want to do that find the extra $5,000 and pay the honda or toyota tax and don't worry about it or find grandma's 3800 V6 Buick
@8:29 Okay, I expect 0% rust on an Element as per usual. 😘😂 Do you have to be an Honda Element expert to buy his ride or couldn't he be bothered to make proper pictures? 🤔
Saturn Ions are the automotive equivalent of McDonalds. It may be cheap, slightly embarrassing to be seen at, and full of microplastics, but it's great value for the money.
It's a good thing that Ions are still a good value, because McDonald's sure no longer is!
So not like McDonald's then.
I have an 07, it just started showing signs of head gasket being unhappy (foam on dip stick) at 257k miles, I think I'm gonna try to squeeze a Buick v6 under the hood to give it a second lease on life.

At 235k miles on a 2007, she still shifts smooth and gets enough speed for a good pass on streets and freeway with throttle past 75%

DUDE, is that Charger still available? I will greyhound my ass down there and buy it tomorrow.
You’re high. 190k plus 500k idle hours. Hellllllll to the naw
By juice breaks he means hydraulic not air brakes. People buying schoolies generally don't have CDLs and want the ones with hydraulic brakes.
juice from the hydraulic berry

5:55 That Jeep just leaking a bunch of oil every time he parks it. Look at all those puddles!
The worst rust on the element will be from the previous owner literally hosing out the interior since that legend has not died.
Netgear would be silver in Counter-Strike
Silver and extremely toxic
Also juice brakes is a slang term in the trucking world for hydraulic brakes (instead of air)

it's ticking bc it needs the threads fixed for the spark plug. not a big deal really. fix the head/threads/spark plugs and itll go 400k no issue.
