- I disassembled this Honda EU2000i to replace the pull-start cord. Simple job, right? Wrong.

Had a guy bring me one to fix couple months back with his big one. Had to change the pull start, tune up and a little electrical work. They are cool little quite generators! Good video man!
There's a reason Honda's #1 when it comes to small engines. They are very good runners. I definitely don't fault their engineering for this failure.
Yeah I say the same thing about Honda buddy!@@thehacksquatch
New channel eh! Cool. Tip: Put the full name of the generator in the title. Change it to "Honda EU 2000i disassembly and repair".

Thanks for the tip! I don't know how TH-cam search handles descriptions yet. I'll make the change.
Dude knows his stuff, subscribed for sure!
Thanks for the support! Much appreciated
Capacitors also act as voltage regulators, that failed capacitor likely allowed a spike into the electronics and "let the smoke out"
If you can believe it, i have a cheapo chinese generator that i had to replace the pull cord on, but could not for the life of me figure out how to remove from the engine, so i ended up turning it til I could just snag the broken cord, pull it to full extension, lock it with a screwdriver like you did, and feed in the new cord. I had to tie the knot behind the protective grill, that was the really fun part, but it worked and she fired right up.
That sounds like something I would try. Nice job! It isn't dumb if it works.
there is a throttle control sensor on top of the carb you can swap out also there is a tab that the throttle control fits into, so if the tab is not properly in the slot it won't idle properly. also, the circuit board that has the three lights needs to be replaced and i bet it will work fine. tyler industrial has all the parts for the honda gens. Go ask them for parts print out or you can prob just get one online. easy to fix and get up and running again.. worked on lots of them. diggin your videos
Thanks for the tip bro! Appreciate it! Will look into it
Rubber mount is to protect the fuel tank from the nut and stop the fueltank from vibrating againt the metal of the bolt.
Makes sense to me! I figured there would be enough clearance but I guess too close for comfort. They probably jump around more inside the shells than one would expect.
You have to factor in vibration over time and future wear and tear otherwise ippety bippety...leaking fuel tank.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant channel by the way.
Thanks! Appreciate you tuning in. Just glad to see there's people willing to sit through a half hour of repair with a bummer ending 🤣
Success or failure doesn't matter, you learn from both.I enjoy channels like yours because like me you are willing to try.Thats the only thing that matters. We can't always win,how boring would that get.Keep the videos coming and good luck and success with your channel.I live in Australia and shit can get real faster than you can say piss on a stick if you are not willing and able to give it a go.🤣🤣🤣🤣
