They are the best but they are not worth 3x the price of comparable wattage inverter gens. You don’t pay 3x the price of a Honda accord compared to a Kia.

I agree, this generater is crazy expensive.

They are expensive but it's about peace of mind and preference; and I'm a buy once cry once person now. They are insanely expensive but there are deals to be had if you don't mind buying used. I picked up one locally with about 60hrs on it for $3k. Again, way more than the cheaper, more powerful chinese generator but I've had cheap generators and it seemed to always be a roll of the dice.

@@lesgreen6464 What I love about it is that I know it will start when I need it without having to fiddle with it. I also like knowing that my wife can start it and have power if I am not at home. That right there makes it worth every dollar.

The Honda will work in 20 years and I promise your 3 x cheaper Chinese knock off will NOT. I know from experience.

Mine is brand new with exhaust kit and exhaust fan for my shed with fresh air inlet.

I adore the Honda generator, however I find it hard to justify the cost. I just bought a new Champion 8750/7000 from Tractor Supply for $900 vs. $4500 for the Honda.

I agree they are spendy. It was also tough when I bought it because I couldn't wait for a power outage and we never got one. Now we have them more often so I get to use it. I bought it because I am a sucker for Honda products and I saw reviews that it was fairly quiet. It is and I did a quick unscientific test on that during a power outage and made a TH-cam video of it. We just saw the lights go out and we tried to get it done before they came on. It wasn't the best video, but we found it fun and interesting. Background noise is surprisingly louder here when we have power. I also like that the generator is sine wave and the app is also nice, but they are an expensive brick.

This is really a hard decision. I am going back and forth between the affordable Champion and the gold standard in quality Honda. I use a generator maybe twice a year but when I need it, I need it. DTE, my electrical company, is investing billions in upgrading the grid in my state over the next 5 years so that frequency should go down. Leaning towards the Champion but know I will regret which ever direction I take. So confused.

@@coniccinoc I get it I get buyers remorse all the time. If you cannot afford the Honda get the Champion. But if you can afford the Honda, do more research then when you do make your discission, you will understand why you made it. That is how I do it. Otherwise you may kick yourself for being too spontaneous.

@@NormalPrepping Thank you for the good advice, I agree and really appreciate the wisdom. The Honda engines I have in my power washer, lawn mower and current EG4000 generator have been flawless. My Honda EG4000 is meant more for a construction site. It has been stored under a tarp outside 24/7 thru harsh winters and hot summers for 5 years. Still looks and runs like new. I have a silly amount of cash but also have a very difficult time spending it.

It's hard to find a fault with that beauty! I get by with 2 2200's in parallel for the simple light weight but if I had the $ I'd go with the big boy for run time. People knock the price but when you need a generator you're not having a good day to begin with and that's when I want tried and true equipment.

I have the same generator, but without the bluetooth. I converted mine to tri-fuel using the MSK7000 kit and now I use natural gas. You can see it running at various loads on my channel. The EU7000is a great generator.

I have an Amazon link in my description showing the current price for the Honda eu7000is. I get a small percentage of any sales and because of that, I am not allowed to post prices of my links.

I decided to take a chance on the DuroMax XP7000iH. Honda's and maybe Yamahas are the gold standards, I have never been disappointed with any Honda engine. The Duro has a 5 year warranty and I have a back up if it fails, a Honda 4000 so it doesn't feel too risky. If I didn't store the gen in an unlocked plastic shed, I would be more inclined to with the tried and true higher dollar brands. I appreciate the video and advice.

@@NormalPrepping The gen arrived less than an hour ago. Added oil, fuel, connected the battery (followed the instructions to the letter). Started right up, super quiet, very happy so far except the Main Breaker switch has no effect. Power flows regardless of it's position. I am in the process of making a service request now. I don't think Honda would let a flaw like this pass inspection. I took a gamble, not sure if I lost yet. Good news is that although the Breaker is broken, at least it is broken in the on position. Early to say but all signs point to your advice being correct.

@@coniccinoc Hopefully that breaker is under warranty since you just got it. Other that that it sounds good. How loud it is, is important. You don't want everyone know you have power when they don't.
