I find the Sony looks a lot more natural than the Canon because of how far Canon pushes the magenta. Though that's just personal taste and is easily fixable in post.
OK I have a question for you. I found this channel because we both share at least one of the same cameras, the Ronin 4d but this is an about that this is a question to you as a filmmaker, or as a creative in general for a little context, I’m 19 and started my entire journey as a creative a year ago. My plan for the year was just to produce some content for my portfolio, and then start making money into next year or this year technically however I ended up finding myself with not only the ronin 4D in my hands but on indie film sets, and actually getting to be a part of making a documentary about a certain organization in the eastern band of Cherokee and by proxy working with the US government, can’t say more because NDA, and the projects currently trapped in post production purgatory, which makes the feeling that I’m about to explain evermore present, because I can’t even view the best piece of work I’ve been a part of all of this happened and then hurricane Helene hit now all of the paperwork that I did have is gone and for the first time the ronin 4D has left my side as a month and a half ago. It decided that it was no longer going to function properly and I had to send it to DJI now this is my third time and hopefully they finally send me a working camera but we’ll see but for the first time I don’t have my camera, I don’t have any work and all of the people who I used to get my jobs through via word of mouth are gone so I’ve accomplished so much more than I’ve ever thought I could possibly accomplish in my first year, but I’ve been pushed right back to square one no business no portfolio because all of the projects I’ve been a part of are longer-term projects like movies, so I won’t see that footage for a while, and the documentaries trapped in post production, purgatory, and all of my luxury real estate stuff I don’t know if you heard me earlier, but hurricane a lot of people aren’t looking for that type of work right now so I have no portfolio hurricane Helene has stretched my funds to the limit so I don’t have money to make anything else and I was too busy on the earlier part of the year actually working and making sad money that has allowed me to survive the year to actually make anything for myself what the fuck am I supposed to do?
Wow, what a year! I’m sorry to hear about the camera and the hurricane but sounds like you’ve learned a lot and have some great stories to tell. Hang in there, it gets easier! In the meantime, maybe you can rent gear or try to find the next shoot by networking with your co-workers while the documentary finishes up
@ i’m in the documentaries already done and it’s not a in-state agency for me so not much more work that that can generate unfortunately but I do keep in touch with the creative director so who knows. But yeah you’re probably right. I should probably be renting my camera out. I’ll have to figure out how insurance works with that first but it’s definitely a good idea but first I gotta get the camera back myself lol hopefully DJI actually fix it this time instead of just telling me they fixed it lol
Well done 👍 and very informative
Glad you liked it!
Ok the canon colours are organic... the awb is perfectly on point the sony as usual has that greenish tint to it, the dji is so red and magenta
I agree, the Canon is definitely more natural looking.
Dji looks red, canon midway, sony green. canon would be preferred. sony is useable , the dji needs more work .
I've found with the DJI, the AWB is usually way off... It's definitely more work upfront to get the image you want.

Yeah, the color science is pretty different, just a matter of preference.
Meh the magenta is dji and sony has greenish tint to it
For my taste Sony has the best colour……
