How many miles did you get yours at I’ve had mine since 30k miles did oil changes every 5k miles and was doing good until now I have warranty so I’m going to bmw. I know n63 is known for a lot of issues like this.
What about the strut brace you never put it back. It looks like that set uo wouldn't allow you to put the brace back since the intake piping cones up so high
Yes that is correct, I never had the brace because previous owner lost them but either way I heard that intakes would not clear the brace so either way they have to go 👍🏻

It looks like you used s63 air inlet ducts intakes the “upgraded” intake pipes... is that what you used? And last but not least... of course we need to hear what it sounds like!!! I'm installing g mines now, passenger side is all done but driver side elbow doesn't want to align up with the crank case hose, did you have the same issue?
WHAT A HACK JOB! Just use a heat gun to bend the OE plastic behind the grill to make the pipe fit through (you can always reheat to retrofit the factory intake back in) instead of ruining an original piece
Yeah I got it I was being a girl just hate breaking things .. I’m having rough idle after installing not sure what is going on. I didn’t have that problem before.. I cleaned the maf sensor no luck I’m thinking I didn’t get the intake part with the single screws all the way flush cause I didn’t take off the turbo charge pipes off initially 🤷🏻♂️ at least I hope that’s the only issue cause you can feel the difference with the front mount intakes
Yea I would look out for that part of the intake, keep an eye out for mixture codes. If you’re running lean then most likely it’ll be the Inlet not seated right 👍🏻

You really have to okay with the fitment for it to work, also you need to extend the hose on the crankcase

It’s quiet on low rpm’s and then the exhaust opens up after 50% throttle. Little less turbo sound unfortunately lol

That plastic was already fragile anyway but Good thing about it those plastic pieces are replaceable

Update: The intake boot from the turbo towards the air box appears to be from a 2016 X5 xDrive50i
