To who it may concern It’s normal for turbo cars to burn some oil. For those with n63 s63 n63tu if you have huge oil consumption and high mileage 90k and up you most likely need valve seals done. If you have car with less than 90k miles Check your PCV valves on left bank and right bank. Cracked hose on PCV valve can cause oil consumption. To check PCV valve take off air filter and inspect 👍🏻 I wouldn’t buy any additives it’s just bandaid that don’t work in long run 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I have a 2011 550i with the N63. Bought the car with 30K in 2015 and it smoked from 50K+ miles, used about 1 quart per 1,500 miles... I used Bar's Leaks One Seal Stop Leak. I have 110K now, engine runs fine, multiple oil changes (obviously), doesn't smoke or use oil...
I got a 60k mile 2010 550i GT with N63 that would smoke constant so then we proceeded to change the valve cover gaskets and oil separator on both sides but once we put it together it still smoked so our guess was the valve stems ? So we also bought some of that bars leaks and it made it a bit better at time it doesn’t smoke even at idle for a while but then it wants to smoke when it wants to so my question to you is did yours smoke a bit still after putting the bars leaks and if it did do you know around how many miles it went away ? I’m currently at 600 miles since we put the additive so kinda thinking of just ordering some of that liqui moly now
@@raulsantibanez1018 Hey Raul I just use it at each oil change, I do 5K oil/filter changes on this motor (don't really care what BMW says) and it never smokes. I do the changes at home with Wix filters and Shell Rotella 10w40 full synthetic... I know I will get comments on that haha.
1qt per 1,500 mi is ridiculous high. Some N63 burn even more and I thought for a while, what's the point of doing oil changes if a quart is often poured in. Might as well just change the filter every 5k and let it be lol
@@joecastro23 running great, still driven daily, slapping the miles on it. This car had the CCP done back in I want to say 2017. I've had zero issues with it, other than a slightly noisy idler pulley.

@@柯敬杰 I own N62B48 5 series and a N63. The N62 doesnt drink a drop of oil and the N63 I fill up like almost every month if I daily drive it. But still I got a 6spd manual only 13 in the world with the same spec so its no problem for me.
i tried bars worked sorta, used this almost to the next oil change and the idrive still hasn't gone down at all, i do 5k oil service intervals. just crossing my fingers that it holds i mean it looks like glue so the joke i tell my friends is that my engine is held together by glue
id run a thicker oil also like 15w50, 5w50 or 10w40. i did a 90c thermostat swap on my N62 it is at 157k miles did the same thing as yours. is recommend a bigger oil cooler and colder thermostat these engines run very hot at 105c and basically all the rubber becomes very hard after awhile. when i got my 750i i caught the valve stem issue before it got very bad some people like me and you can get lucky others have tried this product but by then it is far to late to try to rejuvenate the broken rubber. many people can get by with this forever i know others who use products like these for the oil changes and the valve stem seals seem to be happy with it. i tried using a high mileage oil but it failed me so i just use this now with a thick oil that breaks down slower might go back down to a 5w40 and see if anything has changed but kind of scared to see
Hi I had all my stem seals replaced at the main dealership for a pretty penny as unfortunately I wasn’t aware this product existed. Would you recommend using this product even if the car isn’t smoking just to keep the seals soft? Any advice would be appreciated 😊
my stem seals should be pretty much brand new as they were only replaced less then a year ago, but as it was such a heavy bill I think I’ll buy this stuff and just put in any just as a precaution 😅 thank you for the speedy reply, and great channel by the way 😊
You best just get rid of that "stationary money pit" (Scotty Kilmer, 2020)... when you see a "BMW Twin Power Turbo V8, don't walk away. RUN." (Scotty Kilmer, 2020).... So true to old Scotty's words.... I just had an engine rebuild for my 2016 BMW X5 Twin Power Turbo last month at my local BMW dealer..... Total price???? $11,000 USA for parts, labor, oil change, spark plugs replacement, gasket replacement, etc.... good thing the extended warranty paid for ALL .... I just paid my deductible.... now the X5 runs like brand new....

Hello! Yes, it definitely reduced oil consumption on this vehicle. But I believe it was in very early stages valve stem seals leaking. Meaning that if your BMW has been burning oil for months or years now, I doubt that this product will help.
@@sebastianfedorowicz6967 Honestly, this is one of my favorite cars I have owned. It is smooth, and very comfortable and a bunch of other things. The only problem, is the oil burning. From my understanding the 3.0 6 cylinder is a more reliable motor, and if I were to get another one, I would want to get one with the 6 cylinder and not the V8. But over all, really enjoyed this car.
Hello! I can't give you an honest update because I sold the car. But what I mentioned in the video, it definitely did not require additional oil after the oil change.
It’s not an engine issue, it’s the valve stem seals and yes, on that part BMW should be ashamed as it’s an issue that plagues well more than several production years of vehicles with V8 engines. One would think that a corporation like BMW would at least try and put some effort into making it right for customers that have purchased vehicles with these engines but nope, not a single thing except for their n63 campaign which only helped a small number of people. I believe this issue ran from around 2002 until 2016 or so.
At 5.35 there is a lady in the back of car releasing smoke (smoke machine like the one I rent for Halloween) that makes it look like the car is emitting smoke. Bad editing.

1L per 7000km is still high. My 2017 X5 xDrive35i burns NO oil between 8000km oil changes and I have 101,000km.

Hello! From my experience, if your stem seals aren't too far gone this will help. But if they are cracked and too damaged this will not help.
