And so, it begins…
Two years ago, we put down a deposit on a catamaran that was little more than designs on paper. It was an insane financial commitment and huge leap of faith that it would be the boat of our dreams. And ever since that day…we have been preparing for this one. The day we would go on our first sail aboard CURIOSITY², our spankin’ new HH44.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of modern-day documentarians, perpetual travelers, and seekers of tall tales.
We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.
Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. Self-reliance and living a sustainable lifestyle are a must. It's all about managing our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.
We've lived off the grid for over 10 years now in everything from a Van to RV to a Sailboat. And over time we have learned a lot about renewable energy, creating safe drinking water, and managing our waste.
Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity

At 88 years of age, my boating days have already left the dock. Look forward to your adventures every week. Living through your adventures. Love you both.
If your 88 than I'm 70. Leland those were the days buddie. we got this far..
Leland, at 73 I get it. Miss those days aboard. Loved living aboard and sailing new waters. In 25 years I never watered the lawn once.
I'm only 82 Leland (but I'm catching up)
Ok you guys, I'm 85 and loving every minute of the videos'.
@@blunder11000
Omg that sail😍😍😍
OMG!!! I have NEVER been so excited to see someone else get something new! I am so anxious to see you take possession and sail YOUR boat! What a gorgeous boat! She is PERFECT!!! So exciting!
I do not understand
Ya it’s a fancy boat, but these two work their buns off for this channel. I feel like they deserve some nice things.
As Leland Commented, I'm 85 and the sun has set on my days on the ocean and in fairness, I never did spend much time on the ocean, it was mostly on Mission Bay in San Diego, but I must tell you, I love your videos and you, and you have been an immense help as I cared for my wife of sixty-three years as she progressed through eight years of Alzheimer's.
You gave me an escape, along with several other of your TH-cam compatriots. I must admit that Bobby on Sailing Doodles got me hooked on the Genre but, I truly fell in love with you guys and am so thrilled with your new boat.
I've been following you guys since your early RV days. The trip to Alaska, shopping for your first boat, sailing lessons, ...It's been such a great adventure. The quality of your videos has improved dramatically over the years. So happy to see your progress to this new boat.
Yep
I will never forget putting a bead of silicone on the bottom of your real ceramic plates to prevent rattling or breakage
Lol. I remember that too. Great little rv tip.
👍🤩💝🙏
I look forward to your videos every Sunday morning at 9am EST. You represent another life and choices that my family hasn’t made. I don’t regret the choices we’ve made but I thank you for allowing me to share your enjoyment and passion. I literally find myself grinning throughout the video at your obvious joy and excitement - thank you!
I absolutely agree with you. I could not cross oceans in a sail boat, but I love doing it on line with the Wynns!
Can’t wait until you’re both off alone on the boat, never been more excited about a TH-cam channel ever. So much to come in 2024 and congrats to you both 🎉🥳🙏👍🥰
The dolphins are Mandarin White Dolphin, and yes, they are pink, I once watched several of them from my balcony in Xiamen 12 years ago
FYI, pink dolphins also exist in the Amazon rivers.
I can the imagine the feeling when you sit down and sign that final check, feeling excited yet nauseated at the same time. Congratulations you guys, the time has come when you will have your own bed.
I had tears in my eyes watching your reactions to your new floating home. I could feel your energy. So so excited for you.
Me too!
Hi folks, I haven't seen the look of sheer overpowering excitement on your faces since you moved Curiosity from Vero to fort Lauderdale, when you did the little dance while crying "We're going sailing" It's a privilege to be able to follow your journey.
Nikki has enough calm for both of you! Ha! -- you two are so cute and so cute together. How exciting to be actually sailing your new home after so long! Congrats!
I've watched all of the recent sea trials of other multihull TH-camrs, and I gotta say, yours was by far the smoothest and most professional. Kudos to the boat, the team, and Jason and Nikki for not creating fake drama and making a lovely, grownup sailing video. There's enough real drama taking an untested boat out in challenging waters. And I LOVED the new sail design, Nikki, it's striking and elegant. I now have sail envy :D
😂
I woke up this morning, turned on my Headspace meditation, and did that, and then my first thought was, “It’s Sunday! Niki and Jason are getting their new boat day!” Okay, so next week, seeing you two take possession of your boat will be super cool! This was totally fun too though! FINALLY! It is done and ready for you! Well, minus a few little touches/repairs!
I love the way Nikki hides her horns under her cap!I LOVE the new boat! Happy for you both!!!!
They are EARS! 😂
😆😆
Where is that hat from ??!?!?!!@@gonewiththewynns
following! Love the hat!
Nikki, where’d the cap come from? I thought I saw the name Bring on the label but couldn’t find anything under that.
Have followed your videos for years , they have given me such joy and optimism, never have there been such a deserving couple to have reached such a wonderful moment of reaching your dream boat/future , keep giving people happiness and hope, love you guys!!!
Of all the vloggers with all the new boats, yours is my favorite. No contest. Live the striped sails, the electrical gen. Beautiful!
Don’t forget to make sure Jason’s dishwasher works!
I will unsubscribe if he doesn't get that dishwasher!
Omg, you sound like me with La Vaga, they’ve never had a washing machine, grotty yotties, putting 5kg of weight over what they deem as keeping their boat light for performance.. their cruisers not racers.. and they had a water maker.. 🙄here’s cheers to washers and dishwashers for an easier life whilst travelling on the oceans.
@@MrJhchristOh, he's already got it! One of the recent videos shows it being installed and why they chose it.
Looks great, I'm surprised Jason didn't head straight for the dishwasher 😄 You'll have to show your boat to Kent and get him on board😎
My gosh! Such a beautiful vessel. You two have been very patient and your perseverance is paying off. It’s been a journey and here is to new beginnings & adventures! Cheers!
Omg I can't wait for turquoise waters and exploring islands with you guys again! But first, a boat tour when she's all done with your things on board all in place. It's been a long year. Congratulations! 🎉
That is one gorgeous vessel! I am so happy for you guys. I have been watching the channel since back when you guys had Roy the RV. Seeing the growth is incredible. Congrats on Curiosity!!🎉
Never have I ever clicked a video so fast.
Same here!
Me too
Same!
☺😀
Ta Da!!!!
Gah the sails are GORGEOUS. Stripes all the way! I can't wait to see the boat in 'lived in' mode and all the new adventures.
Like everyone has said, us long term followers are beside ourselves with joy at where you are at right now. You've been so patient, continued to keep us enthralled & now is your time. Your energy is infectious! And my wife loves the "cat beanie" even though we're doggie people. All the best to you guys CANNOT WAIT for your next instalment! ✌️👏🙏
Saving this video for tonight as usual, but we will be pulling out some of our "Wynn's cookies" from the freezer to bake up fresh. Gotta love a big chewy chocolate chip, oatmeal, pecan, and walnut cookie while watching the people who gave you the recipe. Haha. This is going to be a long day of waiting to see the joy on your faces!
Awe, we love hearing that!! Enjoy those cookies and the show. 💙💛💙
Your videos are better than Netflix series… awesome 👏
Totally over the moon for you two much loved people! The excitement for you from my little plot of CT, USA (at the moment 12*F) is monumental. While watching I had to remind myself to breathe ! So happy for you. Onwards. Lots of love.
This is so exciting! Started with you in your RV, now I've been with you through a new RV, new to you boat, and now new new boat! Such an adventure and I'm not even a sailor!
I am so pleased for you guys. To have you back on the water doing what you do best is exciting for us. She's a beauty and we're looking forward to getting acquainted!! ... Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘
Nikki & Jason are so excited so positive so adorable. Thank you guys.
Jason and Nikki,
I am so pleased to see the high stanchions and lifelines; something that I feel is so very important. Nice choice.
Nikki,
I couldn't help but notice the extreme happiness of your overall demeanor; your whole body and persona was a big smile. We are all so happy for y'all.
Thank y'all for sharing.
Cheers!
Blue Skies and Fair Winds.
Faithfully,
James
A great boat, trials are fun especially when nothing big goes wrong. You bought a good one. That “Reacher” is a “Gollywomper”! Lots of big sails. Good thing that you have roller reefing for them when it will by just the two of you. 😎😊
Love your new sails! The reacher sail is giving me a "pirate" vibe!!! 🙂
Yarrr!
I could feel all the nervous energy and excitement right through the screen!
I was in happy tears for Nikki at the start and during sea trials i was bouncing up an d down with exctement.
The saila are gorgeous.
I'm so so pleased for you both
Much love, Dee Portsmouth 🇬🇧 xxx
It’d be fun to see you rendezvous with La Vagabonde somewhere and compare notes on your experiences with your boat-building processes and testing each other’s new boats/homes.
OMGosh!!!! Finally!!! I actually had tears welling up for you! I can’t wait for next week’s video. Congratulations on your new SV. Sunday mornings will be such a joy watching your adventures and learning opportunities on your new C2. This is awesome!
I worked for a major airline for 38 years in maintenance. Later on in my career, I went to Hamburg to pick up two airbus A321's. My job was to complete exceptance checks prior to delivery of 165 million dollars worth of aircraft. We did the exact same process of putting tape markers on discrepancies for repair prior to taking possession of the aircraft. To include extreme flight tests. I find it interesting that accepting a yatch is so similar to accepting a commercial aircraft.
I had worked with a major building developer from 2004 to 2014 in Melbourne AUS. We go through the same protocol but we incorporated & improvised by recording defects by texts & on photo video on an iPad and once submitted it goes right to the new owner, the builder & us the developers. Builders hve around one month to rectify defects usually and owners return to check rectification before final payment & handover.
We do that here before handover of a house too. Mark every fault I mean.
US Navy accepting Aircraft Carrier completing sea trials . . . ! ( Ouch ! )
My Uncle John started Graves Yacht Sales in Marblehead and introduced Choey Lee Yachts to the area in the early 60's. Bobbie Dole was racing Jolly Boats, an English 19ft planning hull in Marblehead at the time. An unfortunate divorce put his Jolly on the market, which Fred my father purchased in 1964. Mr Dole started his sails employment with Wilson & Silsby located on the third floor of the Graves Yard. Bobbie has certainly come a long way and at my age of 73, I am always very surprised to see his company's logo everywhere. Enjoy the sails, they look beautiful.
That animal ear hat….😂😂😂. That made the whole episode for me. Couldn’t help but laugh the entire time, but you somehow made it cool as hell. Way to be you and own it. ❤. Can’t wait for you guys to hit the seas
OMG! She’s finally in the water!! What a journey! Congrats! 🎉
From when you announced this boat in NZ to now so much has changed. You have done so well and ended up with a brilliant boat. The next month of episodes is going to be exciting.
As new owners you are handling it well & your expectations and patience are spot on. More new owners should see your journey.
"... and finally it's becoming real'. That was really moving. Thinking back to the first steps of your journey into globetrotting, would you have ever imagined yourself standing aboard that fabulous boat with the spinakker unfolding...
Kudos, good on you. Thank you for sharing it all.
Loving the designs for the kite and the reacher. As soon as I saw the kite, I thought "why has nobody thought of that". Thanks for brightening up our days you two.❤❤
I discovered your channel when you visited the UK and rented a narrow boat and have been sub'd ever since. It was via Davids channel Cruising the cut.
Such exciting times, the boat looked fabulous. I can't wait for a drone shot with the reacher in full sail.
Will you be having some sort of official handover ceremony?
Thanks for sharing 5⭐'s
My fav part of this episode was Nikki's hat, spinnaker ears hehe :) But seriously... well done and congratulations, can't wait to see where you get to with her, she's a beautiful boat for sure!
I can't believe this time has finally come! I'm so happy for you two!!!! A heartfelt congratulations 😊😊😊😊
I am living your boating life vocariously as an 83 year old and I am feeling your excitement as you get closer to sailing away in your new boat! Can't wait for the next installment.
1. 3 decades ago as i walked through Hong Kong there was an open air restaurant that had the food...snakes...hanging like vines where the windows would be. I always wondered if they were still in business.
2. Scientific FYI: water does not rise and fall for what we call tides. The water stays bulged and the Earth rotates into it.
3. ALMOST THERE! A week, or so to sailing.
I am so excited for yall. Your dream boat is finally coming true, and it is so beautiful. I can't wait to see a tour.
Jason and Nikki,
I am, as I am sure that everyone else is, so excited and happy for you. I know that it has been a long process to finally be able to sail on your yacht/new home. I wish y'all the best. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers!
Blue Skies and Fair Winds.
Faithfully,
James
Congratulations Nikki & Jason on your beautiful cat. I hope it brings you lots of great adventures.
One thing though, your new life jackets - do they have a crotch strap? There is nothing worse ending up in the water with your life jacket floating up at your head instead of supporting your body when inflated. I ended up sewing a crotch strap in after a mishap where that scenario played out and I was fighting to pull the life jacket back down. A big bummer for sure.
Take care and safe sailing. ❤❤❤
Gods, that boat is gorgeous. What a work of art.
Jason and Nikki - you are both so remarkable! This is an example of truly turning dreams into reality. Yes, Nikki, the power of positive thinking prevails, always. Congrats on that beautiful vessel.
I am beyond excited for you. I even got emotional. Having watched you since you met up with the Zatara crew back in the South Pacific, Tonga I think. I feel very connected to your adventure. This new catamaran is HUGE in so many ways. I look forward to all you new adventures on the new Curiosity
It is so exciting to see her on the water! I really wish you had interviewed the captain to get his opinion of how she handled...but SO exciting!
Yes! It’s Sunday with the Wynns!
I so happy your getting closer to your dreams , the boat is beautiful, love colour❤
Lived in Hong Kong ten years ago down on the south side of the island. I still miss it. I really appreciate you spending some time giving a perspective of HK in the vein of your travelogues.
Those sails are fabulous. So excited for you guys. You’re really living life to the fullest. Congratulations
I get so excited each Sunday morning when I see you have posted a new video. I'm very excited for next week and to see all the new gear for the boat.
I don’t know the first thing about sailing but have been enthralled watching your video’s, and seeing and learning about your amazing and beautiful new boat. Your recent videos also grabbed my interest as I lived in Xiamen for 5 years and loved it there!
If you have a chance, and haven’t done so already, I highly recommend going to my friend’s amazing restaurant near the ferry docs on the island, and nestled under the Ferris wheel - “Greg’s French Restaurant“. If you do stop in, please introduce yourselves to Greg and his lovely wife, Viviane. Very lovely people serving incredible food. Please tell them Mike from Phuket, Thailand says high! And if you ever make it to ANYWHERE in Thailand, please let me know, I retired here full time 2 years ago. I’d love to get a firsthand look at your beautiful new home on the sea and meet you in person!
Well done… Happy sailing!!!!
Best part was Nikki on the train describing just how excited she was! Feeling like she needed to pee, but not really!! You could just feel it. Well deserved! So excited also, for you both. See you next week :)
Anxious and excited to go sailing with you both virtually.😊
I am so emotional with joy for you guys right now! I will watch the video again to relive the joy - looking forward to next week!
Last time I was in Hong Kong, the exchange rate was 5:1 and the Kowloon Ferry was 10 cents HK.
Also, the last time I sailed on a boat with a sail that had a black panel (leech/luff on a reacher), it was impossible to get trimmed right because the sun expanded the black panel out of proportion with the rest of the sail.
So happy for you. Finally the boat is there and almost done. I wish you all the best and hopefully not as much stuff breaks as with the Vagabonds. Happy sailing and looking forward to everything with the new boat.
You two by far have some of the most genuine and thoughtful productions . My wife and i live aboard a 48' MY and look forward to your adventures and life encounters. Hopeful for what lies ahead for you two out on the seas in your new home.
So exciting! Your pure joy literally brought tears to my eyes several times. So happy for you. 🎉🩵⛵️
The boat is beautiful and the design on the sails is stunning.
Now that ur on board again, after the moving onto the boat vids, id love a video on how it was living out of your suitcases, and what changed about your backpack setups etc in that year.
Such a tease! No drone shot of Curiosity II with full sails. I was expecting at least a big colorful Code 0. Can’t wait for the next episode.
Your boat looks beautiful! So exciting to see you both closer to setting sail. Amazing new adventures await!
Congratulations guys! Now let's go! Make new stories! Meet new people!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So happy for you that you will be back sailing again. Nikki love the hat with the ears.
Congratulations on the long awaited launch. I can only imagine what an exciting time it must be, albeit a bit stressful, to get a brand new, built from factory, boat! Love being on the ride with you guys!
This episode filled me with happy tears for you! Many blessings your way! And I love Your Beanie!
Must have been the most nervous and exciting trip ever. Let the adventure begin. Much ❤ from Texas. Sail on my friends…… ⛵️ ⛵️ the color is just amazing and relaxing…….. I love the striped sail ❤❤❤❤❤
good to see Seth in amongst the delivery team President of HH Catamarans
SurfingLife with Malcolm
This is really interesting are you sharing the anticipation you had waiting for your boat, now we get to experience it waiting for your next video? After all the delays and just a glimpse of sea trials, it is going to be such a relief to see your new adventure talk about vicarious living.
I'm so happy for you, my eyes are watering! Congratulations!!
"Back in the Saddle, Again!" You guys are amazing, unfazed for the most part; taking it all on, gracefully! Gosh, you have so many people helping you sail! Are you guys going to be able to handle this Sail Boat alone, just the two of you? I thought this day would never come! Just this past week I wondered what your next video would be? Surprised to see you are onboard, doing a 'Shake Down Cruise'! Good job, the VPN is so Awesome; I may need it one day soon. Love the Cat Ear Hat! So Cute; at one point from the back Nicki, you looked like a Kitty! Your Joy is so Palpable, you guys have earned it! Always Cheerful for the last year plus, being homeless, and undaunted! Many people could not handle this transition; you guys just keep going, like the energizer Bunny! God Bless, keep out of the Mud! Looking forward to your next installment! Thank you for bringing All of Us Along!
Exciting! Finally! Glad to see the new boat not only floats, it sails and motors. You're off to a great start.
Love that greay cap Niki...
That is sooo you!
Adorable!!!
So exciting for you!! Glad you are mostly done and can have a home again.
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you guys. Your new boat/home is absolutely beautiful! Of all the new boats that I’ve seen on TH-cam recently, this is THE ONE! I can’t wait to follow your new sailing adventures 💕
Nikki I love those pink glasses! On a unrelated note, I wish ya'll had some drone shots. I wanted to see what she looks like in the water.
Sitting at home and what is on my TV but the Wynns shopping for an RV on the show Going RV, original air date 10/1/14. Jason looks like a teenager in the episode and Nikki is oh so fashionable! Good job driving those RV’s at such a young age.
Your boat is beautiful - love the colour combinations, love the sails - Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing a boat tour and you out at sea sailing her🥂
Congratulations on the new boat. Thank you for sharing.
FINALLY the long wait is over. K you filled it with nice and interesting stuff, but boy am i looking forward to new boat adventures and destinations. Lets re-connect with all those cultures.
Your sails are stunning!! Great job designing them Nikki🥂💞
It’s beautiful, love the design of the Spinnaker and Reacher! Thanks for taking us along with you…so exciting!
Really enjoy y’all’s channel and content. I appreciate the “total sailer concept”. Real people experiencing new and exciting cultures and places.
I had the privilege of doing a bunch of travel in Europe, the Middle East, and Korea. Funny enough I’ve never been in water I could see through! I get to live that through you guys! We need some beaches here in Oklahoma🤣!
Oh I am the most excited to see the boat turn into a home. Shes beautiful!
One thing that really stands out to me is how the sugar scoops have a closing transom like door. Safety for a single couple sailing without a buddy boat. If one of you went over during a night crossing it would difficult to the extreme to find you unless you are well lit and the one left on the boat is a really proficient pilot.
I’m so thrilled to see you both on your gorgeous new home. You’ve worked so hard for this! Congratulations! 🎉 Sending love for your transition to taking over the boat! 🎉❤
Have been watching you two from the very beginning when you were looking for an RV....My how you have grown. Well done and congratulations!! Looking forward to seeing you guys off on your next adventures! Keep the videos coming. Most excellent!!
I hear the Red Sea is fantastic this time of the year, And with an EV you as quiet as a mouse. 😉👍
This is going to be such an amazing time for you guys! Just as Sierra says so well at the end of Delos videos - "Whoo Hoo!"
Beautiful!! Congratulations-after so long a wait! It was worth the wait. May you always sail her in fair seas!
