Hey, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate you doing this whole video series. I myself have a 2008 Yaris that I'm seriously considering turning into a track car. Good info here. It's nice to know that there is a community of sorts doing this ...even if it's fairly small :). Thanks again!
@@scionnnExhaust Gas Recirculation. EGR works by recirculating a portion of an engine's exhaust gas back to the engine cylinders. The exhaust gas displaces atmospheric air and reduces O2 in the combustion chamber. Reducing the amount of oxygen reduces the amount of fuel that can burn in the cylinder thereby reducing peak in-cylinder temperatures. The actual amount of recirculated exhaust gas varies with the engine operating parameters.
Bro!!! So excited this is happening, my Yaris is so ready for a swap and I am waiting to see your results before I decide but so far, the 2ZRFE 2012 XD motor sounds like a really good option. All the leg work and research and comments below are much appreciated. When you get on track again I want to bring my yaris out to buttonwillow.
Your build is amazing and I've enjoyed watching over the last few months. I'm in the UK, and the swap is quite easily acquired, as I could get hold of a crashed or rusty 1.8 yaris sr, standard with the 2zr engine. The issue is, mine is french built, those are japanese built. Where is your yaris built? Apparently I would need to replace the whole body wiring loom, as well as ecu, engine, engine loom and box on mine. Do you know anything more on the wiring looms between french and japanese built cars?
Hi im from south Africa kindly assist in terms of the info of the build as i am interested in doing the same but wont be able to get the motor mount in south africa, from wiring ecu and parts how much does the conversion cost in usd for me to convert it to our rands
For the class I'm heading into, swapped motors have to remain mostly stock. I think the most I do is a tune. Not sure what the highest revving street build is like but the lotus supercharged 2zr in the cup 260 Revved out to about 7500rpm.
Yep. Still stock rear drums. I might swap to the 2012 Yaris SE rear axle with disks if I can find a used one. The rear wheels are basically just along for the ride though
I wish I knew about all the different 2zrfe engines. I bought a 2zrfe, but the oil filter placement tells us that it’s either a 2AZ or they got the year wrong and I actually got an engine from an 08. Curious, how much bigger is your 2ZR than your 1ZR? Then engine they sent was. Great deal bigger, which is another reason I think I got a 2AZ.
The 2zr is a direct bolt-in, whereas the 2zz would require fabrication of new mounts at least. And if I needed to use a different transmission, it would be even more expensive

EGR exists on the JDM Motors. 1NZFE from 2005 in Japan has EGR.
Whats EGR?

Mine 2008 Japanese ncp93L for South America market comes w/o egr (the vin label u can read “made in japan “)
Loving the series. I love my little Yaris and I'm glad to see others appreciating this little go-kart / roller skate hybrid.
let's go! I've been waiting for this build to come back
Hey, we here at FailArmy loved one of your videos and would love to talk more!
1nzfe starter works.
Great to see some progress!

You're going to love the Yaris again. Trust me.
Aisin waterpump and denso alternator is in my 2zr-fe yaris. If u need more info hit me up =)
I want to do the force induction 2zr from the GRMN VITZ
I’m still looking for a salvaged Scion xD as a donor car for my Yaris.

So just an outsider looking in, and you may not know the answer…
What’s the highest revving highest HP 2zr street build
Or will you turbo the 2zr?

Are you still using the stock rear drum brakes? Also Long Beach Toyota has the best prices for OEM Toyota parts.

The yaris doesn't ahve a 1zr its a 1nzfe. The 1nz is a 1.5L the 2ZR-FE is 1.8L
@ my mistake. 🫡
What gearbox you using
I'm using the standard Yaris c53 transmission. You can use The XD transmission as long as you use the XD axles as well.
Why not use a 2zz?
The 2zr is a direct bolt-in, whereas the 2zz would require fabrication of new mounts at least. And if I needed to use a different transmission, it would be even more expensive
