Question ? Do you get him out I have had my African side neck turtle for 5 years and he is spoiled like any other pet he lives to be out of the tank and watch TV with me & dosnt want in his tank he will stay on the couch all day and has if I let him
Bare bottom tanks robs turtles of an enrichment of their environment. It maybe easy for you but it's horrible boring for them. Just think of yourself living in a room with no rugs no pictures and no tv. Just 4 walls! AND TELL ME YOUR TURTLES LIKE IT😔😕😕😔☹
Jealous of your tank, really pretty and natural looking! It looks like maybe your light might be a tiny bit too close to his basking spot, that might be why hes not laying on his basking rock.
He said he found them outside. If you're looking for a similar hardscape, I'd suggest taking a peek around your local parks and such! You might end up lucky ;)
Had used fine white sand, turned into a real nightmare, had cloudy water for two weeks, canister filter sunsun302 did little to clear the milky mess. After almost ten water changes it got a little better, but still look like crap! Any starring of the sand took me back to the milky mess I first had. YES I CLEANED THE SAND BEFORE I PUT IT IN. SO in total frustration I removed the sand and going to replace it with quarter size polished river pebbles or rocks. Will post a vedio.

That's the cleanest turtle tank I've ever seen! The fish seem to be doing good as well. Overall a great setup!
I love how beautiful and natural your set up looks. What kind of heater do you have? And does he ever try eating the fishes?
Just got one for my son, $400 total for everything. He loves it, but I will add fish
What kind of sand or gravel did you use,and wondering is if I can use pea rock.
