    I watched a TH-cam video where a man said when you feed the turtles, take them out of the tank, put them in a separate container. Feed them there, then put them back in tank once they've finished. That way they don't mess up the tank. I've done that and yes it really helps!

      Yeah I know some people that do that and I think it helps keep the tank water clean. My turtle just hates when I pick her up so I try to only move her when I need to.

    Great video, sir. I’ve had my turtle for over 14 years. But I very much enjoyed your video. It was very informative. Covered all the bases.

    Very nice video, and great information. However I have a question, eventually I will have to put my turtle in a 75 gallon tank, how in the world am I supposed to clean a 75 gallon tank? How do you let the water out without taking the tank to a sink or draining it in a bucket. Currently I have to clean my turtle tank at least once a month in order for it not to have any smell and for it to stay clean and clear. I currently have a 20 gallon long tank and my turtle is about 4 inches. Also, if I upgrade the tank to a 75 gallon tank do I get a Long one or a tall one?

      Thank you! I would suggest going with a 75 gallon long tank since it will give your turtle more horizontal swimming room. As for water changes, I use this 25 foot siphon (amzn.to/46O2sjl) It's nice because I just drain the water into by bathtub, and then use the sink to fill the tank back up.

    My little brother brought a red eared slider home from a bayou and now we keep it in our backyard.
    We've only had it for about 24 hours so it's living situation is a fenced in area and a trashbag pit with water in it.
    I plan on changing that soon.
    These videos are helping right now.

    Is turtle tank need aerator ? If I put full of water

    • @turtleholic
      @turtleholic  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      An aerator is not needed because turtles breathe from the air and not the water

    We have a RES and she is in a 50 gallon tank .she is about 7 inches. What kind of filter do you recommend ?The internal filter that we have isn't keeping the water clean. Water is filled 1/3 of the tank with no live fish. We do hv that exact same auto feeder that you have.

      I use this filter and it works pretty well for me (amzn.to/443QocB) . It filters 480 gallons per hour. You should also try filling up the water to at least 1/2 of the tank

    I see your turtle has like a a 3 inch gap from the top opening can’t they get out?

      Yeah I had the water level up too high. She has tried to climb out before so now I keep the water level lower.

    Your basking platform is upside down 😂
    For small turtles is dangerous because they can get stuck under the water behind the bar 😅
    That's why the bar should face up not down

    How long do you keep the heater on?

    • @turtleholic
      @turtleholic  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I keep the heater on at all times. But I'm able to set it at a certain temperature so if the room starts to get hot then the heater won't work as hard.

    Thanks for sharing 👍 , do you teach people how to setup outdoor DIY turtle pond or tub ? I'm got a big tub with those red eared slider turtle inside my house indoor , everyday in the morning i will move out my turtles to outdoor turtle tub just for them to bask under nature sunlight but those turtle are always so panic 😢 and even wants to climbing up and escape from the tub it looks doesn't bask under sunlight naturally and some turtle just always hiding bottom under water doesn't want to climb up for basking 😢 , my indoor tub got uvb and uva bulb , without water heater but everyday open 6 hours plus 2 hours natural sunlight at 9am to 11am i will bring them all back to their indoor enclosure is that enough ? Hoping to see you demonstrate DIY turtle tub outdoor and good suggestions...

      At the moment I don't have an outdoor tub, but maybe I will get one in the future. 2 hours of natural sunlight is probably enough, but ideally you would want them to get a little more. If your turtle ‘lives’ outside do you need a uvb bulb?

    • @turtleholic
      @turtleholic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! If you get a decent amount of sunlight during the day then there is no need for a uvb bulb.
