Hey Wrighty, sorry you have been well and hope you feel 100% soon. I am from the UK (Bicester near Oxford) and living in the USA now. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to seeing the finished RDF and how it compares to the last one.

Glad you are doing better. Love your videos. I hope to be building a four thousand gallon pond soon. Gathering materials and planning for now. Happy ponding from the US.

So glad to see you on the mend Terry, your Lilly's are looking amazing, I replanted mine and now have several floating leaves, however the big Lilly still keeps throwing leaves up but they open just under the surface. Looking forward to your next video but dont rush it if your not up to scratch matey 👍
Hi Dan, and thank you mate. it's much appreciated. I have my lilies that are in the deeper part of the pond on an up-turned lily basket and fixed together with cable ties so it's higher in the water. I do find that helps. Thanks mate, Terry.

@@Wrighty The Mrs has done a sterling job with the pond...think she's after your channel 😂 Glad you're on the mend mate, awesome job you've made with that welding...good to see how it's done. Best wishes always
Terry, please take the time to get completely well. We can wait for videos. The pond is in great shape and should sustain itself with only your instructions through the fall and winter. Eat healthy. Watch some good movies. Play with the computer. And get well.

Glad to hear you are on the mend again. Once again great video and I look forward to this rdf being built and then finished as I may look at building one of your goi g to release the plans.
Omg 😮 Terry you not having a good time! You need to take it easy plenty of rest mate. Good work on the new RDF and particularly on the hot weld I’m impressed. Take care mate and remember get some rest.

So glad your feeling better terry I’m really looking forward to see this new rdf I couldn’t incorporate the other one due to the size but this one looks much more suited to the space I have available Take it easy buddy
Glad to see you on the mend, I've watched all your videos and its inspired me to build a 2000 gal koi pond of my own. Thanks for great information and happy ponding 😁
Hi Graham, thank you for your kind comments, it's very much appreciated. Good to hear you enjoy the videos. Welcome to the hobby mate, you'll love it. Terry.
Sorry to hear you've been I'll as well mate. My wife's a saint, but she won't do the garden lol. Say's she's been saving it for me lol. Get well soon mate, Terry.
Hi Terry, I'm rebuilding my whole pond and filter system next year and want to give these plastic box builds a go for a cleaner look. Would you mind sharing what type of plastic you used and where you got them from please? Thank you
Hi Terry glad you're feeling better and on the mend, great new video, ponds looking beautiful. Just wondering have you managed to try out the sinking airline you purchased a few weeks back. Keep up the great work. Regards Tim
Hi Tim, thanks mate. think I'm going in the right direction now. feeling better by the day mate. I haven't had chance to try the airline but a couple of people have and they say it works a treat. Thanks, Terry.
Get yourself fit and healthy as everyone has said we will all be ready to watch your next instalment when your feeling up to were do you get the plastic sheets from I’d like to have a go at this plastic welding and maybe get the plans for this rda and give it a go myself
Hello Terry it's Ricardo from Southampton I will like to know where you got your pipe and bulkhead connectors and what are the size of the pipes you uesd on your three barrel filter system cause it's hard to get any thing here in Southampton am going to attend same system as you so I can appreciate a little bit of help and insight. Thank you like you say in all your video keep on ponding 🙏👍👍👍
Hi Ricardo, I get most of my pipe and fittings here: www.discountleisureproducts.co.uk/pond-supplies-c1/pond-pipe-and-fittings-c20 you can buy the plans on how to build my filter systems on my website diypondfilters.com which will help. Terry.
Hi Terry great to hear your on the mend, ruddy pills can mess you up, rdf build is looking good also have you though about motorbike cogs / sprocket for the new rdf, that way you can get the right chain for the cog and may work out cheaper. Great update video.
Hi Dave, thanks mate. I did look at bike sprockets but they tend to have no centre bore size. With the new RDF I can't use metal anyway as it will be partly under water with the design idea I have. Thanks for the idea though mate. Much appreciated. Terry.
i do look forward to your videos but........ your health is the most important thing, glad your feeling a bit better. take care and look after your sellf.
Hi Terry, just wondering if you'll give people who purchased the original RDF plans the updated one if they need to purchase the updated plans again? Take it easy!
Hi Brendan, I'm a long way off doing any plans yet. Only have the case built, so there's a lot of trial and error to come yet. But I will see how things go mate. I always try to look after people. Terry.
Great to have you back me and my daughter love watching your videos and she even does a great impression of you videos ending whenever we are out at the pond. Just a question we have the same lights as you but the remote sensor has a plug which Isn't water proof. Can we see how you have wired yours in.
Hi Mate, and thank you for your kind comments. Glad you and your daughter enjoy the videos. I did run electric to the pond when I built it. It's wired to a waterproof box where the lights are plugged in. I made a small hole in the bottom of the box where the receiver for the remote pokes through. You may have seen it but I do show fitting them in this video th-cam.com/video/OwywuO-Rlo0/w-d-xo.html if I can help further just give me a shout. Terry.
Bloody hell, sorry to hear about your troubles mate, and the hedgehog :/ Jeez it's all suffering, hope you get happier and healthier soon Terry, all my best mate, tek care. PS: Great job on the welding :)
Hi mate, I was a bit rough, but think I'm on the right track now mate. Feeling better by the day. Starting to potter about now which makes me feel better. I'll soon be back to normal. Thanks mate, it's appreciated. you take care, Terry.
Terry hi, I have been hooked on your videos ever since COVI-19 lockdown. Your designs are amazing and wondered if you could share your drawings with me. Sorry to hear you haven’t been well.
Hi GM, I'm very well now mate thank you and thank you for your kind comments. it's good to hear you enjoy the videos. If your interested in building one of my filters, all the build plans are on my website: diypondfilters.com If I can help further just give me a shout. You can get me @ pondfilters@gmail.com Just drop me an email, take care, Terry.
Hi Wrighty, Question regarding the construction materials; how thick did you go with the polypropylene plastic sheets? I'm considering building the tank of my Arduino powered DIY RDF with the same stuff, but pricing seems to vary greatly depending on thickness, so I wanna make sure I opt for something that doesnt collapse as soon as it's full. Love your videos!
Hi mate, thank you. I used 6mm PP as my RDF only runs half full which works fine. I also used it on my moving bed which does run full and it did bow the walls slightly when full. So I did strengthen it around the middle. Terry.
@@Wrighty good to know.i was getting some stick from a guy on a pond group over mine before filters, i think when uv kills the algea filter can pick it up..yes/no..your opion counts
I have mine before the filter for that exact reason. It's not sending dead algae back to the pond. Also I run a bio moving bed after my filters, and to have the UV after that would kill any good bacteria going back to the pond. They say it's good for the UV to get a clean water feed, which may be correct. But I've never had a problem with dirt in my UV. I do clean the glass when I change the bulb every season, but you have to do the same weather the UV was before or after the filter. It's just a matter of personal choice. Terry.
Hi Alan, I use the Apex Mini Grab. It does work ok and is colour but it's only 2m pixel. It could have done with being a bit more. Can be a bit slow to react. Hope this helps mate. Terry.
Hey ya mate just re watching this again may well go for it what sort of money did it cost you on the end and I wondered weather you ever looked at the drum filters on Alibaba ? If so what you thought of the quality for the price thanks a
Hi Aaron, I have seen them, but how well they work I'm not sure. I know they had some problems with some things warping and lids bending when they first came out, but what there like now and how good their backup is, I really don't know mate. Mine will cost around the £600.00 mark, not including the moving bed. It's how well you shop around mate. I have done the plans in sections, so you don't have to part with the money all at once to make it a bit easier on the wallet. Hope this helps mate.
Just watched your full 5 part series on the pond build, fair to say it was amazing to watching it all develop! Hope everything health wise is okay and I'm looking forward to future content! You have just gained a new sub! Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Adam, thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed the pond build. I'm feeling much better now mate thank you. Welcome to my channel and hope you enjoy your stay. Thanks, Terry.
What would you say roughly your pond cost you to Build ( I know you did most of it yourself). Anyone from UK who has pics of there Pond that they have had built and price they paid let me know. I’m looking at expanding.
Hi Alex, I don't build the RDF's for people, but I do sell the build instruction so people can build their own. Check out my website: diypondfilters.com you'll find all the info there. Terry.
@@Wrighty sorry if you thought my comment was rude, in hind sight i think it was on the untactful side but to make it clear the tank you have made is going to leak if not in a week or a month but eventually it will you never start or finish a weld in the corner, you have to cut a lenth of welding rod to a lenth that will go round the base of the tank in one go.You tack the hole tank together then start welding inside three welds outside three welds best regards humphrey
Hi Humphrey, no offence taken at all mate. Like I said, I'm just a novice, new to plastic welding. If at some point it does leak I suppose I can get the gun out and repair, or go round with a sealant. It will only have about 30.5cm of water in it anyway. Thanks, Terry.
@@Wrighty hi terry friends again just to let you know sealant wont stick to pp but yo can cut a v groove in the otside seam with a wood scraper or a router with a v cutter then weld again hope it does not come to that, here is a tip imagine if you were going to make a tank 2 feet square by 2feet hiigh you would need 5 pieces which you would lay on the floor or bench in the shape of a st george cross , the center one would be the bottom of the tank first tak weld around the four sides of the bottom piece so it joins every side then lift up two sides edge to edge then tack weld then do the same again to other two sides you then have a tacked together box, you wiil notice on the outside you have a L shape or a channel which you then fill with weld best regards
Hi Humphrey, was always friends mate. Thanks for the tip on building a box, that makes perfect sense. I will go around the outside of the box, cut a V and re-weld. That's good advice mate, thanks, Terry.

Hi Scott, it's just a quickie so hope you like it mate, thanks, Terry.
Hi Terry, I'm rebuilding my whole pond and filter system next year and want to give these plastic box builds a go for a cleaner look. Would you mind sharing what type of plastic you used and where you got them from please? Thank you
Hi Philip, I use 6mm polypropylene and get it from Bay plastics Ltd. www.plasticstockist.com/Default.aspx Terry.
Good to hear your on the mend terry and good work on the rdf can’t wait see it finished
Take care
John ;)
Thanks John, I'm feeling a lot better now mate. I can't wait to get stuck into the RDF but the wife's keeping her eye on me lol. Terry.
Hi Mate and thank you. Much better now thanks. I get my plastic sheet from Bay Plastics Ltd. You'll find them on line. Terry.
Hi Terry, good to hear from you,
Take care mate .
Ben
Hi Ben, think I'm going in the right direction now mate thanks, Terry.
Better welds than JBR do thats for sure! hope you are feeling better and taking it easy
Thanks mate, feeling better by the day now. I am getting a bit better with the plastic welding. Thanks, Terry.
@@Wrighty thats good mate.
Hi terry I'm glad you are now ok mate and have got a link from where you brought the materials from buddy
Hi Monty, thank you. I got the plastic from Bay Plastics Ltd. Thanks, Terry.
All the best for tomorrow at the hospital
Hi Dave, thanks mate. All went well thanks. I'm feeling better every day so soon be back to normal mate thanks, Terry.
Terry.
@@Wrighty no worries Terry get well soon and happy ponding
i do look forward to your videos but........ your health is the most important thing, glad your feeling a bit better. take care and look after your sellf.
Hi Derrick, thank you. it's much appreciated mate. The wife's keeping a close eye on me lol, so not allowed to do too much mate, Thanks, Terry.
@@Wrighty Could tell you were feeling a lot better by the end of the video :) hope that feeling lasts ;)
Thanks mate, they put me on some horrendous tablets that did the trick but wow! I've never felt so bad. Off them now and feeling good mate. Terry.
@@Wrighty Great stuff mate, and don't forget to do at least 50 press ups a day, just to keep on top lol :D
Yes mate, have been doing 50 press-ups a day, but now getting back to normal and doing about 3 lol. Terry.
Hope your feeling better soon mate
Hi Marty, thanks mate, think I'm going in the right direction now mate, thanks again, Terry.
Hi Wrighty,
Question regarding the construction materials; how thick did you go with the polypropylene plastic sheets?
I'm considering building the tank of my Arduino powered DIY RDF with the same stuff, but pricing seems to vary greatly depending on thickness, so I wanna make sure I opt for something that doesnt collapse as soon as it's full.
Love your videos!
Hi mate, thank you. I used 6mm PP as my RDF only runs half full which works fine. I also used it on my moving bed which does run full and it did bow the walls slightly when full. So I did strengthen it around the middle. Terry.
@@Wrighty cheers for the reply, definitely food for thought in that case, thanks!
i love your pond, and your filter system ,quick question..your uv,is that before or after your filter
Hi mate and thank you. I have my UV before the RDF. Thanks, Terry.
Terry.
@@Wrighty again thank you, for taking the time to ease mind mind
No worries mate, Like I say, it's a matter of personal choice. Terry.
I wrighty could you please tell me what camera you used for your microscope please thanks Alan
Hi Alan, I use the Apex Mini Grab. It does work ok and is colour but it's only 2m pixel. It could have done with being a bit more. Can be a bit slow to react. Hope this helps mate. Terry.
@@Wrighty thanks so much appreciated
Wrighty nice one mate helps a lot i will check out your website for the plans ?
Ok mate, any problems give me a shout, Terry.
Take care mate TERRY WAS YOU SELF UR HELTH COME FIRST
I will mate, thank you. Terry.
What would you say roughly your pond cost you to Build ( I know you did most of it yourself). Anyone from UK who has pics of there Pond that they have had built and price they paid let me know. I’m looking at expanding.
Where did you buy the mesh on your rdf from
Hi do you make to sell the RDFs
Hi Alex, I don't build the RDF's for people, but I do sell the build instruction so people can build their own. Check out my website: diypondfilters.com you'll find all the info there. Terry.
Sorry terry thats one way not to make a tank
I'm no expert mate as you know, but it will do the job I want it for. Thanks, Terry.
@@Wrighty hi terry friends again just to let you know sealant wont stick to pp but yo can cut a v groove in the otside seam with a wood scraper or a router with a v cutter then weld again hope it does not come to that, here is a tip imagine if you were going to make a tank 2 feet square by 2feet hiigh you would need 5 pieces which you would lay on the floor or bench in the shape of a st george cross , the center one would be the bottom of the tank
first tak weld around the four sides of the bottom piece so it joins every side then lift up two sides edge to edge then tack weld then do the same again to other two sides you then have a tacked together box, you wiil notice on the outside you have a L shape or a channel which you then fill with weld best regards
Hi Humphrey, was always friends mate. Thanks for the tip on building a box, that makes perfect sense. I will go around the outside of the box, cut a V and re-weld. That's good advice mate, thanks, Terry.
