I have a 2017 ssr 125 . Tore it all the way down , checked gears . None are broken . Motor sounded good but won’t never go into any gear . I’m going to go ahead and replace all gaskets when putting it back together. I’m going to replace the small spring on the gear selector assembly. Do you have any other advice on what it could be ?
Hi, great video! I have a stomp 125, I believe the engine is the (YX 125) it is missing third gear. When selecting third, there is no drive and lots of rattling. The other gears are fine. Would someone as confident as yourself have any ideas as to cause and solution to this please? I'm aware the engine is going to have to be disassembled, just curious as to what I should find in there? Many thanks.
@@ScottsShed so it might only be the selector? Could it be chipped tooth or worn bearing? Other gears are fine. Kinda feels like chain is gonna come off. It’s a 125 pit from China. Motomadness it’s called
@@leenevin8451 would t say bearing as it’s o my the one gear I think possibly worn gear or selector forks there’s a video on my channel of a complete tear down and rebuild if u get stuck hope you can sort it 👍

My 3rd gear makes a ratling noise and doesn’t work what so ever would this sort it
You would have to strip it and look for broken part or ware

Did it just loose third gear or did it get worse until stopped selecting?

@@ScottsShed does the engine need pulling off frame? I’ve seen the gear/shaft rebuild. Is it difficult to put back in?
@@leenevin8451 yeah need to split the case to get to the gear box but can take clutch side off in the frame to check shift selector
