      Hey Yama-Haulin! Thanks! And, honestly, if it was me, I would just buy a new transmission! They are so cheap. Unless you just enjoy taking things apart to learn.

    If someone was doing an actual rebuild like this wouldn't you want to use assembly lube on all of the moving parts?
    Also, do you know if they make parts to change these transmission gears to say taller gears or shorter gears depending on what it's being used for? Can you put a 4 spd setup inside a case that was originally a 3 spd? Also, do you know if you can change an automatic clutch setup to be a manual clutch?
    Thank you! 👍

    No mechanic is complete without some brightly colored nail polish in his box. Not only is it good for marking, but it is also effective at sealing welch plugs.

    I’m putting together a z50 gearbox and can’t work out which side the washers should face that sit against the bearings on the gearbox shafts
    They are slightly bowed and I remember you saying they are directional, does the more sunken in part of the washer sit against the bearing or against the gears?
    I have problems with the sprocket shaft being to short sticking out of the motor causing the sprocket to rub on the case so I just want to get it right this time appreciate your help and videos, they are by far the best online for these mini bikes

    • @brian.d.mobley
      @brian.d.mobley  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Joe. When disassembling the gear shafts, I mark each washer and circlip with a paint pen as you probably saw in the video. That is the easiest way to determine the orientation. If you did not Mark yours, you’ll need a magnifying glass so you can examine each washer and circlip shoulder radius. I discussed how to do this in detail at the 2:00 mark in this video. th-cam.com/video/T16ax-lhT7g/w-d-xo.html

    I love your videos and your attention to detail. With a lot of folks buying 125cc upgrade engines, I would love to see you dive into one of those…..I have a CT70 clone with a 125cc Loncin motor with a 4 speed semi automatic clutch….I bet you could gain a huge new following with this…..Lifan is the other popular redo engine….

      Hey BtB! I have had that suggestion made before as I have few CT's in my inventory. But, I just can't bear to hot-rod them! I did sort of amp up my CRF70 and discussed that a in the engine rebuild video I did for that bike, but I've never done a conversion engine job because I just love the original Honda's.

    • @backthebadge4009

      I am just thinking it might be a great way to grow your channel…there are so many out here with these engines it would be a real service….maybe make a service book while you’re doing it…I bet you would sell a ton because there is absolutely nothing out here for us…

    • @brian.d.mobley
      @brian.d.mobley  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@backthebadge4009 Im sure it would be useful to a lot of people, but I just dont have lot of interest in spending money on that motor nor do I have a chassis to put it in! But Im sure you are right - that there is an audience out there for that retro-fit.

    PLEASE DO A CR 85 CRANK SEAL REPLACEMENT ON THE CLUTCH SIDE and can you please do it without having to take the whole engine apart

      The Honda service manual covers that pretty well. I’m going to be building a CR85 in March so I’ll create that video then.
