I'm 6'5" and my GSX8R feels like it was built specifically for me. Especially with my beat up knees. My brother has an '06 GSXR-750 that is an absolute weapon of a bike but my big ass just can't fit on it. I've put a tail tidy on mine and just got my new levers today. I love this bike and in the 2 weeks I've owned it all I've gotten are compliments. It's the yellow btw.

I just bought this yesterday. Upgraded from a 2012 Ninja 650. It has a ton more power than my Ninja. I'm fully enjoying it so far. Even though I'm still in the break-in period. My only gripes are, no cruise control, and the inability to put a slip-on installed without replacing the full exhaust. Other than that, amazing upgrade for me, and an amazing bike. Got a 3 year, unlimited mile warranty for mine too, that allows mods.

      Not making much sense mate.
If two cylinders are enough to achieve your HP goal and have tons of torque to go with, why would you want to have more.
More weight, more complexity, higher consumption, higher manufacturing cost, higher maintenance cost, peakier, less mid to low range torque, bulkier.
Only reason to go up in number of cylinders is for making more power, I can tell you Suzuki made exactly as much power as they wanted for this bike.

Rode the 8S last year and it was one of the most fun bikes I've ridden in a long time. It's the fun of riding a slower bike fast. Plenty of torque down low where you're going to use it on the street without the need to rev the bike to the moon to get it moving. I think this bike and others like it are going to take over track days and club racing the same way the SV650 did 20+ years ago. The more experienced among you know what I'm talking about.

after about 3000-4000km on my gsx8s the quickshifter and blipper work very good. You have to press a bit harder than normal of course but you can really take corner liek a race car, going quickly up and down between 4th and 1st gear. Id say from my personal experience the quickshifter has a bit of a longer "break in" period.

I had a 2013 Suzuki Gladius (the ugly duckling SV650 clone/variation) as my first bike. Loved it a lot, especially as a first bike. I put a ton of custom work into it after crashing it the first time and surprisingly made it beautiful. I thank that bike for giving me my first riding experiences and full bike tear-down/rebuild experience.
Going by how you describe your experiences on that GSX8R, and how it sounds and appears to accelerate and it's gear ratio's, it honestly just seems as if Suzuki just pumped out a renewed full-faired SV650. Which isn't bad at all, in fact, the SV650 is an extremely coveted bike by all racers, from amateur to pro. Practically universally known as the ultimate starting/beater track bike. Glad to see Suzuki still competing well.

Great review. Loved it. Can’t wait for more. I have the 8S. Thinking of trading when the 8R gets here. The quick shifter; first it does soften with a couple or three thousand kms and secondly you have missed the point. The bike is designed to be ridden at 3-7000 rpm and is exciting in that range. As you said you ride in a higher gear, shift at 7000 even in a hurry. That means you change down at lower revs too. Change down at 3-5,000 rpm and it is smooth and easy, after 2-3000 km of riding. You can even change down with some power on. And if you are holding revs dead constant, always use the clutch up and down. Suzuki missed that memo.

I just bought one of these, and felt that your video was great. I heard you say that you ordered an exhaust for the bike. What did you order? I want to get one as well, but don't want to have to tune it after. Also, any suggestions on seats? The stock seat is not very comfortable and hits some of the pressure points, but I want to be able to ride this thing for more than a half hour without pain

All these top vloggers highly rate this bike. Not a single bad review so far. It's not surprising seen as it has all the looks, price point, and perfect combination of street+track ready abilities and can easily be modded specifically for either or type of riding. It's going to be my first middleweight bike. It's the only one that I like the look of too. I commute daily weather permitted. Will retire my beginner bikes to start with the track until I find my next bike (either for track or commuting).

I rode that bike back to back with the 8S. The 8S is snappier as the S750 makes its torque higher u the rev range. On the S750 you have to wait or change down. Can't argue the top end, but you will seldom get the Hp to the road as after a gear change or two you will be going too fast. The 8R has more accessible and sharper power, despite the numbers.

TST Industries seems to have taken these Suzuki 8Rs up a notch. I wonder after all the aftermarket add ons it will put the price in the RS660 range. Although Suzuki is known to run forever and Aprilia not so much. Maybe tailoring the 8R to the individual rider's needs with an aftermarket flash is the way to go.

Heavily looked at this bike as a sport tourer, or a comfortable sport bike with good fuelling. Only 3 petty things stopped me, low pegs, 180 rear tyre (really wanted a 190) and 2 cylinder (really wanted to get a 4 cylinder due to them becoming instinct, also that to me is what’s in my head a sport bike should have). Spent a little more and went for the ninja 1000sx and honestly couldn’t be happier.
I thought I might get buyers remorse but the extra due to the premium look and feel made it worth it.
That being said I respect this bike just as much, and I’m sure I would have been happy with it. My compromise was parting with my cash. I am a cheap guy with OCD 😂. Meaning I don’t want to spend more money than something is worth and any short coming will literally play on my mind causing me to loose sleep until I get rid of the problem. I find for someone like me, spend extra for the things I’m truly passionate about, and cheap scape the day to day items that I lack interest in.
The yellow and black looks great on this bike. Blue I’m not the biggest fan.

The RS660 having all these benefits while also being able to rev out completely and make power to redline is sweet. It’s such a shame triumph couldn’t just give us a modified 675 that did the same thing but with 100ish instead of 120+.
I get this bike actually has a bit more torque down low, but I can trade that for a more complete package.

Where I live we can have really strong winds, and sitting upright, riding into a strong headwind wind on the highway can get quite tedious. I have recently been thinking about buying a used supersport just for the riding position. When you tuck your head in behind the fairing, to get out of the wind, it looks really goofy when your hands are up by your ears. 🤗

I'm sorry. Parallel twins are blah. All the new, middle weight parallel twins are eh. 🙄😒 We've tried this in the 70's and 80's. Things that disappear historically are usually for a good reason. I've got a crazy idea. Manufacturers might try keeping all the motor configurations in separate models, instead of canceling 1 configuration for another. 🤷‍♂️

R7 is much more sporty feeling, which you may find uncomfortable for longer rides. If you plan to do a ton of sporty riding Id go with it.
The MT07 has pretty meh suspension but is a fun bike to be a hooligan on. Not great for highway and a bit rough around the edges nowadays.
The 8R is kinda like a sport touring bike. Good for highway use and getting around town and having some fun. It weighs a bit more though.
