- In this episode we take a look at some of the glitch fun to be had in Sonic Adventure. Most Of these don't work on the Original Dreamcast ver., so don't waste your time :) The footage in this episode is from the PS3 Port!

"If knuckles dies, the music stops and there's red mist everywhere." I smell upcoming creepypastas.
Its important to note that most of these don't work in the Dreamcast version, for some reason the DX port has very dodgy collision detection. Fear not though, the Dreamcast version still has cool little exploits that were fixed in DX.

There's a glitch I have discovered myself, on the Dreamcast version. Go to the casino area and press the button. Rings will appear. Charge up the light dash and stand on the right hand side of the first ring. Release and... Kaboom! Sonic zooms off into the air. You can use it to land on the railroad track and collect the Knuckles emblem.
That was great. I loved Knuckles in Space :D

You should really do a part 2 for this game. There's a lot of neat glitches that you missed, like getting Amy into Emerald Coast, Gamma into Casinopolis, among others. If you're interested, I can help. More than happy to. :D
Maybe in the future, this game was fun to go over again so who knows :)

I've actually tried the Tails in Emerald Coast glitch, and i found it hilarious for when going past the lighthouse, Tails will fall and die while saying "Wha?" then quickly loads back to Station Square, left me laughing.
When I attempted to enter Emerald Coast with Knuckles, it just ended up with me dying while trying.
When I saw this episode, I didn't read the desc.
Wasted several hours on the Dreamcast :'(
God, that rock and statue glitch is IMPOSSIBLE. You have a lot of patience :P.

I really do love the Son of a Glitch episodes that are collections of glitches, rather than just a single glitch or two.

Man, you barely scratched the surface here. There are so many glitches in this game, you could probably make a video over an hour long. xD Still though, awesome video!
I feel like re-playing this game now. The nostalgia is real..
This game was my childhood- which is why I'm happy to see it destroyed brutally :)

There is so many polygons that you can break in this game. I've done quite a few, when I first got the GC port of this. There's an area between the hotel and the entrance to Emerald Coast which is also passable to access it with Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. Amy's hammer can also launch her into the Casino, through a glitch. With enough momentum Sonic is able to bypass all sorts of walls. I've ran through the police barrier, right down the middle, up the side of the Mystic Ruins entrance area, and in the last stage in Eggman's base, tunneled areas were full of holes. Also, I did some glitch with Knuckles, where he grabbed the chao when it started cacooning itself. I think you have to do it quickly, but not too soon. If you miss, go to another garden location and come back. Getting them to like you enough, to come, when whistling helps. When you do grab it, you will slide across the floor, into a corner. The hotel garden is best for this, because it's small.
Some new ones sweet! My favorite is permanently unlocking casinopolis for Amy. Absurdly difficult you need the long hammer ( makes your attack reach longer) from the egg carrier, you need to clip through the train station roof and get on top of the clear tunnel. Jump to break into a run and hammer jump toward the casinopolis switch. It won't seem close enough, but swing your hammer anyway. If you're lucky Casinopolis will be permanently opened to Amy. Have fun Amy moves freely on the pinball stages! The capsule makes the game reset. E102 can get there, but can't play pinball. Getting Amy into Emerald coast nearly impossible, but doable same as Knuckles and Tails. Infinite tail attack can get you anywhere Sonic/Knuckles Speed highway. Knux can easily get into Sonic's Lost world. old Dreamcast version was so broken :D
I think it would be easier to explain the parts of Sonic Adventure that _didn't_ glitch out.

This is footage from the DX version of the game, right? The character models are too nice looking to be Dreamcast, Sonic doesn't have mitten hands. I don't know how much these glitches lend themselves to the original Dreamcast version, which I don't recall a lot of problems with, but I know Sonic Adventure DX on Gamecube was broken as all hell. It loved to just inexplicably clip me through loops and elevators to my death.
Well spotted, the differences between version's is pretty clear. Sonic is less 'shiny' in the original!

I'm trying to do the knuckles in space but I have been gliding for almost 10 minutes and haven't found the stage
@A+start In emerald cost there's an easier way for tails to get in the level. When you see the giant fence block your way go to the right corner and fly up where the beach chairs are. Then fly over the fence and you go to the stage.

Also you forgot to mention Amy can also enter Emerald coast by using a Glitch too!
If anyone is having trouble landing some of the tricky jumps, remember that pushing the action button completely stops your momentum. This doesn't work with Tails when he's flying or Amy in general. Also it only works in the middle of a jump.

There's a glitch on the Xbox 360 version with Big the Cat. It involves the "Beta Hotel"
RIGHT AFTER the Float upgrade, AKA no levels, AFTER GETTING IT, go to where you did the Sonic Twinkle Park glitch, and use Burger man. Keep putting him on the part where it sticks out a little to the left. Jump behind him and you'll go into the beach. Float to the hotel and you'll get in. The reason it's called the beta hotel is because you pick up weird blocks, and if you pick them up, Japanese text appears. Even if you set your subtitles to English, it is still Japanese. You put these blocks near where Emerald Coast's door would be. Now you can play Emerald Coast BEFORE playing Ice Cap!

Favourite game with great glitches!
On Sonic Adventure DX for Gamecube while I was playing Ice Cap, by complete accident, I caused a glitch that made Sonic stand and run in mid air at the cieling. He wasn't touching the cieling and was just standing in mid air. And yes, you can run around in mid air just like that. I have a video uploaded about it actually in "My Top Videos" playlist for those interested, otherwise, just search for Ice Cap glitch.
dude, you can go to emerald coast with amy. you have to do the same thing that you get in with knuckles, but the only thing is that you can't get past the whale part with her because of her light weight. no joke!

My favorite glitch is the snowboarding skip, however when Sonic is on the slopes on foot, the speed you move at is very slow.
by the way,the egg shaped rock is realy a chao egg that can be hatched in the chao garden
My favorite glitch in sonic adventure: In Ice Cap with Sonic in the second area (the ice cave part), there's a section with a bunch of rings shaped like a left-facing arrow. if you stand on the very edge of the platform to the right of the arrow and use the light-speed dash, the first dash will just shoot you down the path a ways, but most of the time the second and third dashes will launch you up to the top of the level, where you can land on the jump panel platform.
There is an easier way to get Tails/Knuckles into Emerald Coast. The automatic doors have a seam right above where they close/open. Jump up through that seam and fly/glide around the right, inside of the hotel, and to the Emerald Coast loading area. You need the power ups in order to travel that far, though.

Theres also a glitch I found in which I think it can only be done in the PC version because it requires a trainer with moon jump and super speed. First go the Egg Carrier adventure field through the boat in Station Square or Mystic Ruins. Once you are there go to the back of the ship where theres an invisible wall. You can get through it by using the super speed on the trainer but sometimes when you touch the floor in the back of the ship you die or walk on there but I recommend using moon jump so you dont die. Once you get through the invisible wall moon jump all the way to the back and use super speed to go faster. After you get very far, you can see another Egg Carrier there but you cant stand on it since you will only go through it.
Using the lightspeed dash at the peak of a jump in the twinkle park elevator area with enough practise can land you in the area as well

I did the glitch to get to the casino stage, i beat it with the second glitch and no i don't know where to go, all the doors won't open and im stuck. Any help?

In tails emerald coast I recommend you get the jet anklet first it's so much easier also there's a way to have sonic have the Crystal ring with out the light speed shoes
Awesome vid, both sonic adventure games are full of countless glitches, you could easily revisit either game.

As i have sonic adventure dx alot of the glitches were luckily fixed.
I used to do a glitch where when you reach to Ice Cap with Sonic, skip the level but instead go all the way to the door that leads to the Red Mountain area, spin dash next to it and you should progress, skipping half of the game, it works fine all the way until you reach to the Egg Carrier and because Amy isn't unlocked yet in the story but she's needed in that cutscsne the game crashes, I used to do it all the time on the Dreamcast version but for some reason I could never do it in the Gamecube or PC versions of the game.
Dammit! I was hoping you were going to do the original Dreamcast version. It has some different glitches but there's just as many as the DX version.
I useto do other glitchs like get amy and tails in emerald coast skip levels. IN DX for Gamecube but those glitches are patched in ps3. but now I have these new glitches to try thanks :D

You forgot to mention when you skip the snow boarding the timer stops dead because the timer does not turn back on until you mount the board
There's a glitch in emerald coast after the whale the area with 3 ring boxes near a tall wall. It's slightly tilted so you can spin dash up it. Also, The Homing Attack glitch on the Egg Hornet boss where you spam the X(or A) to repeatedly do a homing attack without him recovering.
Hey I found a weird glitch in icecap,on the snowboarding part I got sonic to snowboard backwards
Also, Amy can be in Emerald coast, Similar to what you did with Knuckles but using the Piko-Piko hammer, or something. Bine a while since I last saw it :/.
I guess these glitches can occupy you when you finish the game, hehe :D

I did some of them, and I used the gcube dx ver.
Another glitch, in the sewers where tails get his flying powers boosted, go to the diagonal line where the turn of the sewer is, keep on flying on the line and eventually you'll go through the roof. Head backwards and you will go beyond the police blockage. But I didn't find a way back...
