Awesome video! I have been making these fun bowls for 2-3 years and absolutely love the craft. You have inspired me with your fresh ideas and I love your teaching style, thank you so much! Jonee in Arizona
You are so multi-talented, definitely a renaissance woman! The natural look of the brownish rope on the hydrangea bowl really appeals to me, so pretty!
Hi mimi , happy blessed Thursday. I adore seeing these GORGEOUS bowls. They are SPECIAL and so are YOU! thank you thank you. Much love coming your way ❤💕💕❤
Just came across your channel and your baskets are beautful. I just made my first rope basket into a purse and decoupaged it using napkins. I just love it, and now I'm hooked. Thank you for the inspiration!!!!
You are so precious for sharing all your true and tried tips. Thank you and because of you I made a gorgeous graduated pink color with scallop edge bowl for a baby gift. Blessings
Subscribed. Not sure if I'll make any but i love watching your videos ❤. I have osteoarthritis and find it difficult to sit at the machine for long. I used to sew handbags which i loved doing 😊
@@nancydegeorge1143 thank you very much for subscribing! Glad to have you in my community!😊 I love making fabric tote bags and purses. Would love to get your expert opinion on my projects!
Just found your channel and love, Going to watch the rest. Wrapped enough fabric on rope for trivet and wanted to cry. No more wrapping after I finish the next one thank you.
I started out fabric wrapping my bowls and really didn’t enjoy that process. I think you will love making them this way. Thanks for sharing! Let me know how you like making them this way.
Wrapped enough for two trivets plus had a bunch cut on bias left. We could of had a cryiing party. I stumbled on these videos and dyed some rope and getting ready to make a bowl.
No the rope I buy for bowls does not have poly in the middle. This is the Walmart brand I purchase… Hyper Tough Diamond Braided Cotton Clothesline 3/16 in x 100 feet Bar code number 6 957680 700956 Hope this helps! Have a great day!
I am a absolute newbie at this and every video I've found they sew them. Can yarn be used for the rope bowls and how to make them without a sewing machine?
Yes. You can crochet around the rope and make these bowls. Search crochet clothes line rope bowls for tutorials. I’ve not made any using that technique but it is on my list of stuff to make!
The brown basket was regular clothes line rope dyed with brown acrylic paint. It does appear as jute rope dyed this way. I get my thread from Walmart as well. I try to stock up on thread as it is as hard to get during the virus shutdown.
If I sit and just sew straight thru about an hour. But I do have to get up and move a bit so a couple of hours from start to finish. I have to give my neck a break.😊
Please don’t play music when you are speaking. No real teacher does that. It is horribly distracting andinterferes with hearing what you say. The hearing impaired who use hearing aids have an even harder time understanding you. I cannot imagine why anyone would do that.
Thanks for sharing your talents! Beautiful bowls.
You are very welcome!

Woo hoo! You go girl! 👏
Enjoying your videos! Do you delete the Mod Podge before painting it onto the baskets?
@@maureenwilliams8612 I use it straight from the jar. No diluting. Thank you for watching!
Thank you for your suggestions

Do you put anything on them after you paint them?
I usually put on a coat of Modge Podge to seal them.
I am a absolute newbie at this and every video I've found they sew them. Can yarn be used for the rope bowls and how to make them without a sewing machine?

What type of Coats and Clark thread is best? Cotton or poly? Or blend? Thanks
I use the polyester and blend when I can find it.
My Walmart carries Coats and Clark thread.
Also was the brown basket done with jute rope?
The brown basket was regular clothes line rope dyed with brown acrylic paint. It does appear as jute rope dyed this way. I get my thread from Walmart as well. I try to stock up on thread as it is as hard to get during the virus shutdown.
?? Did you fussy cut around all of the designs on the napkins before you decoupaged them onto the bowl?
No mam! Just cut out around it. The white part of the napkin blends in nicely with the white bowl!

How long does it take to sew a bowl?
If I sit and just sew straight thru about an hour. But I do have to get up and move a bit so a couple of hours from start to finish. I have to give my neck a break.😊
Have you ever made a cover. For a bowl?
No I haven’t but I’ve seen nice bowls with covers in Pinterest. It’s on my list to make some!
I don’t have any problem with thread I use surger thread.
Good idea! Thanks!😊
I did one using coffee...tired out great and dried it on a square plastic bowl outside .
I thought about using coffee but was afraid the smell would linger. Did your bowl smell like coffee after drying?

Thank you for sharing. My daddy is extremely hard of hearing and music affects what he hears. I appreciate the reminder.
