This is just what I needed! I made some a number of years ago and and creating some more. You answered every question. In the beginning use glue stick, use a pointed thing ( I forgot the name) instead of my finger, to ppress the new row against the other while I sew, join the next strip easier than I was, selvages work also, and leaning the left side up with your hand while you sew is how the angle is made and not by the right, etc. There may be more but I am excited to finishe my bowl and make some more. I have an order for two since someone saw 2 bowls I made my sone 10 years ago!!!!! Everybody try one and then another. Be sure you use a jeans needle and not a leather needle. Leather needles are made to "cut" a slit in the leather and it will cut those threads. Also I saw that I used a three step zigzag instead of a regular one. I like it. Have a great day!😊

Enjoyed your tutorial! Have made a trivet before and now I want to make a small bowl to hold my clips in. Oh and thanks for the Terial Magic tip. Will be getting some for sure.
I did not realize that you do an X😊 across the beginning of the bowl… Makes it much easier than when I was trying to zigzag it from the very beginning! I was having trouble seeing it though and was thinking that an open toe foot would be easier. I’ll be switching brands of machine for my next try so I’ll have to see how it does with those feet. Thank you so much!😸
Thank you! I had stared a bowl like this years ago and recently when I moved, I found the unfinished project. I watched your video and now started sewing it again. This time I will finish it!
Thank you for this! What fabric line is this? It has my favorite colors. Have you placed any rope on the sides for decoration and if so, how do you do it?
How do you keep the sides of the bowl from flaring out? Does that have to do with being consistent when you tilt it to start forming the sides of the bowl? Thank you for the great tutorial!
After the bowl dries from the stabilizer application, perhaps you could then use Scotch Guard and spot clean as needed. If you hand wash the bowl, the Terial Magic may rinse out.
You can use either bias strips or strips cut on the straight of grain. I love using scraps! There is more information about this in the blog post: sewcanshe.com/how-to-make-a-rope-bowl-with-fabric-scraps/
This type of bowl is so useful around the house. TY for the video, I'll have to give them a try. QUESTION, what needle do you recommend & stitch length. Also regular thread or a heavier thread. SORRY! I'm a dodo 🦤, I read your blog post for answers to my questions. Still love your video!!
Man, wrapping the fabric has a learning curve.
I struggled with it all day. I think I’m going to dye it, lol

Great tutorial. I'll have to try it.
I enjoyed your tutorial and am going to try the technique to create a bag.
What foot are you using on you Bernina? Does it work using a dual feed foot?
Absolutely. I'm using the 34D foot.
This is so cool!! I love it!!
Thank you. Great video.
Thankyou great tutorial🤩
Is the rope 1/4"?

Pardon me, I forgot to say thank you!
Love this & am going to try it !! Thanks!!
Do you cut the scraps into strips...what size...looks like 1'1/2"???
It's kinda hard to see what you're doing. Because you're showing more of the sewing machine than the what you're doing.
très bonne idée ! avec des restes de tissus, on peut faire des merveilles, et des petits cadeaux !!!! merci !
Very easy to understand. Thanks!
Did you use the cotton 3/16" clothesline?
Very cute! Thank you!
Has anyone ever used lace binding for rapping rope?
Are these bias strips?
You can use either bias strips or strips cut on the straight of grain. I love using scraps!

First one was a major fail but I now know what I did wrong 😢!

You spent how much on a sewing machine to do that?
Why have beautiful clothes when you can feed the landfill?
The ads are too much!
I tried to make your cell phone bag (cross body/ fabric origami). The instructions are HORRIBLE and I had to give up. VERY disappointed.
