I just bought a 2024 Blazer EV RS and thanks to all the GM discounts and rebates, it was actually lower priced than any of the other variations built on the Ultium platform. It even has an "RS Launch Edition Credit" on the sticker which makes the "RS Convenience and Driver Confidence Package" free! Hell of a good EV for $40k. Drove the Mach-E and Ionic 5 the same day and liked the Blazer best. As an Android phone user, I like the built-in factory software as it's very similar. I can see why Apple CarPlay would not like it, but if they take the time to learn it they might find it works well.
Imo, really poor comparison between this and an Equinox OR the other competitors. This starts at $47500. How much is this RS? Nothing about DC fast charging.
@@jbrei713 from all reviews of owners I've seen, the Bose system in the Blazer is also awful. Death by a thousand papercuts with this car. 1) youtube music doesnt work. I like youtube music because it allows me to add songs that aren't from albums (live concerts from youtube). Technically it is not Chevrolet's fault, but I don't care. If you are gonna take away carplay and android auto, you gotta work with app makers to make sure we don't lose functionality. 2) The L1/L2 J1772 port does not lock. Anybody can come and unplug your car. My wife has an outlander phev and the J1772 becomes locked when you plug the car. You cannot remove the plug without unlocking the car/pressing the unlock port button inside. 3) You cannot set simple charging schedules. The car asks you by when you would like the car fully charged, and what times are preferable for charging, but this does not mean it will not charge outside that time. I have solar panels. Every minute my car is charging when i dont want it to, it is costing me money. This is such an easy fix. Simply let me set the start charge time and the end charge time, so my car charges only during the day. Why does this have to be difficult. 3.5) I would really like to be able to set the charging amperage in the car (like one can do with teslas). That way the car never exceeds the solar power i have available. I had to buy an L2 charger that allows for setting the charging amperage. 4) you cannot turn off the wireless charging pad, and if you put something there that is not wireless chargeable (an old phone, keys, wallet, a squeaky toy) you get an error on the screen. 5) I am getting tire pressure errors all the time. No idea what that is about. One of those things that look perfectly fine when you take them to the dealership. 6) the mobile app is absolutely horrendous. Slow to sync, errors out often. Shows you sticky meaningless notifications after you open it. 6) This is a jab at nearly ALL electric cars. Stop putting the charging port on the left. We park on the right in North America. If we ever hope to have curb side L2 charging like some european countries do, it'll be a hazard to have a cable go around the car with the charging plug sticking out towards traffic. Driving wise, it drives fine. I'm not a speeder or a racer, and I dont fall in love with cars. I wanted this to be the car that made forget about cars (seldom maintenance, no going somewhere to refuel, ride quality is great), so all those sticking points really ruin the experience. I cannot recommend this car. Lastly, I really dislike these review apologists trying to convince us that somehow not having google auto/carplay is not bad and might even be good. its absence will make the car age faster. It makes the car objectively worse. I wonder if these dummies are afraid of just saying it fearing they won't be able to borrow more cars for review videos.
Each of the items you mention are not an issue with the Tesla Model Y. TH-cam works great, NACS port locks when charging, easily set charging schedules with either your phone or in the car, charge port perfectly positioned on the driver's rear corner of the car. The lack of Android Auto and Apply Carplay is a non-issue with this well-designed infotainment, with the exception of I do miss Waze.
@@mowcowbell the CCS does lock, but the J1772 doesn't. I have recently learned that this is not a standard feature of j1772, however my wife's mitsubishi outlander phev does lock the j1772 with the upper little stick. I guess I wouldn't ding this EV for that though. I will keep trying YT music, but a quick search on the internet will show how many of us are struggling with making YT music work on this EV. Those who have got it working also report not being able to access their YT playlists on the car. These items are issues with the teslas, the difference is tesla owners don't complain. I see a lot of tela drivers with accessories and doohickies to mount their phones and even tablets to their cars. I guess Tesla learned this from apple really well. Telling its consumers what it is they want rather than listen to them. You cannot set simple charging schedules and you cannot set charging amperages. These are two features that Teslas do have.
Have to say way over priced . There is 25 rs on my local dealer lot 58 grand and moonroof there unlike 24 version but no Bose audio is a deal breaker. The 6 speaker system sounds like crap.
Don't look at the MSRP. I paid $40k for a 2024 that stickered at $56, huge discounts out there. Hell of a good car for $40k. I had the Bose system in my last car, a 2019 Volt. It was good but the stock Blazer system isn't that bad either. I sold car audio for 20 years, the Bose system is crap too, just slightly better than the stock system but not worth the $600 price tag.
I test drove an equinox ev dual motor... didn't like it. Acceleration 0-30ish was good but anything past that was highly disappointing. I don't necessarily need neck braking speed, but past like 50 I would be afraid to pass people if needed. Is it a 2024 EV, or a 1991 geo metro?? I ended up leasing a new ioniq 5 today as my first EV. Don't have charging at home and don't really plan on adding it.. EA is close to work and those two free years will be nice. I could also charge at work if/when needed.
The horsepower has been my personal concern with the Chevy’s. I test drove the Blazer EV and the Honda prologue and found the horsepower to be adequate, and a lot better than a Geo metro. But I’m not looking for adequate and I’ve drive in the Ioniq 5 and the EV 6 and found them to have satisfying horsepower. So I’ll probably end up getting an I5. My guess is that Chevy decided to focus on range rather than horsepower and the range is the one good spec it has. Horsepower and charging are kind of mediocre. One kind of interesting strategy that Chevy took was to make their batteries reparable by module which has made them heavier but perhaps a good design in the long run. If it wasn’t for the horsepower I’d probably consider one.
no idea what you talking about, are you trying to say that the awd acceleration not on par with ioniq 5? or you just want to wait at the line of EA for 2 yr free charge up to 80%? It seems that you are not clear about neither acceleration nor what you want. Longer-range rwd ioniq torque and 0-60 simply sucks, the awd is ok but not worth the $$ for the trashy interior, end of story.
@@gmrewardtogo I picked up an ioniq 5 limited awd. I have been to 4 difference ea stations a total of 15 times so far and have not had to wait once yet. Interior of ioniq 5 limited is far better than that of the blazer (lower trim levels do feel kind of cheap, yes).
My Last car was a Chevy. NO MORE will I buy one. They are absolutely annoying. You get out of the car with your keys in your pocket, BEEP BEEP HONK KONK. Looked at a new one anyways and the Dealer was stupid greedy. I love my new Mazda CX5
@jjboohoo9641 - The Mazda CX5 is a totally different car from the Equinox EV. (Did you compare that model?) The Equinox non-EV is the less desirable platform - kinda dull (even with 2025 refresh) Dealership treatment is subjective. Your BEEP BEEP HONK HONK is with the non-EV as a reminder. When you get out of the car with your keys in your pocket the Equinox EV simply shuts down - no start-stop button. The 2025 models both can be purchased for around $28,600 - pretty much on par with each other. The Equinox EV is a longer wider car. The Equinox non-EV is not. The Mazda CX 5 is the smaller of the cars. But the Mazda CX 5 gets around nicely too.

I wonder how likely the price is going to increase over the years?
why would you keep up a video and not re-narrate the video when over 5 minutes of audio is cut out.. thats kinda crazy
I have this blazer. Originally was mad not having apple play but the google auto is very good plus car has Waze built in so it’s perfect
